Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Suggestions for large playlist in LMS
Unfortunately Erlands old plugins are not that well maintained . But one of his plugins ( cant ) remeber which was able to randomplay from a playlist and loaded about 10-20 tracks at the time. Howover whatever you do on a cpu and memory limited platforms ( old nas or mini itx etc ) dont shuffle large playlist . Works on ok on a modern i5 or i7 it on other platforms click 3 times on shuffle and lms can stall for 20 minutes :) Maybe if LMS could have randomplay that. Was able to pick from a selected playlist . had both include or exclude genre/artist/albumartist/. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Suggestions for large playlist in LMS
can anyone suggest a way to allow me to simply click the playlist and have it start playing? i'm also unsure what is causing my pi to work so hard when i click the playlist - loading a list of 6000 items and then attempting to locate the first one to play it shouldn't be so hard or am i missing something? LMS is doing a lot more than just pick a list and keep references to those files in memory (unfortunately). Every item is represented as an object with references to metadata (album, artist(s), genres etc.). Every file is validated at load time whether it's available or not, has updated metadata etc. Therefore such large playlists can cause problems. That said you might want to re-consider whether the large playlist is the only way to solve your requirement. I doubt these are 6000 hand-picked tracks? Maybe the RandomPlay plugin could do the same job? -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Update LMS on Synology NAS ?
Thank you both. It's a lowly DS115j (so, only a 800Mhz Armada 370 and 256MB of RAM). For me, it's mostly a glorified external hard disk, as I have nearly all services and functions disabled. Installed 7.9.1 via the beta channel. The initial scan from a few days ago when I started playing with all of this became aborted for some reason. So today, prior to 7.9.1, was the first full scan. 3 hours 25 minutes for a ~25,xxx song library with no video files, during which time LMS and the NAS were basically unusable, especially the latter portion when artwork was being cached. I'll monitor it tonight and see how it goes. Michael I understand these post-Logitech-created LMS' are your handiwork. Thanks for this! deckeda's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108621 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Suggestions for large playlist in LMS
hi there, i'm attempting to migrate my LMS setup from a full PC to a Raspberry Pi 3. all seems to be good apart from the fact that the pi seems to struggle with a large playlist that i have which comprises approx. 6000 songs. can anyone suggest a way to allow me to simply click the playlist and have it start playing? i'm also unsure what is causing my pi to work so hard when i click the playlist - loading a list of 6000 items and then attempting to locate the first one to play it shouldn't be so hard or am i missing something? thanks in advance! mrdo23's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67785 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108623 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Update LMS on Synology NAS ?
1) If this (7.9.x?) is worthwhile, why? Because it's the latest and greatest! :-P Synology's software showed LMS 7.7.6 as available. Installation was as easy as clicking that button. But I glanced at something that claimed library scanning was faster with 7.9, and that would certainly be worthwhile even though it seem scanning speed is mostly limited by the hard disk and NAS hardware processing speed? Because the harddisk is slow, there are optimizations in LMS to use the disk less ;-). It all depends on your system, of course. How much memory, what CPU etc. 2) I have a SB Touch running 7.8.0 but with Triode's EDO. Nearly all other plugins/applets are disabled. The only thing this thing does is stream music from LMS and I don't want to break that (including what EDO does.) In 7.9.1 there are even more plugins you can disable if you want. 3) If #1 = "yes," (worthwhile) how to update? Synology offers 7.9.1 in the beta channel. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Update LMS on Synology NAS ?
I don't know what Triode's EDO is and you don't tell which Synology NAS you've got. But I have LMS791 running on my Intel based Synology with DSM 6.1. It works great. You can find a LMS791 changelist here: http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/blob/public/7.9/Changelog7.html If you turn on support for beta-version apps in Package Center on your NAS, you might see an official version of LMS791 from Synology. I think it is called a "beta" because it is based on a nightly build, but currently 791 nightlies are almost always "production stable". It is, as I recall, a few months old. If you want something close to latest version and you have an -Armada375 -or- x86_64 -based NAS, you can get a newer build by Pinkdot (forum user). [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Problems with LMS on Freenas 11.1 U1 (FreeBSD11.1/iocage)
I finally get a build of LMS via ports to work (you have to disable the tests in the LMS options), but i still have problems with the server. Even when the installation process is much easier than 'before ' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104122-How-to-Installing-LMS-7-9-nightly-in-a-FreeBSD-jail-on-FreeNAS-9-3), its just Code: LMS portsnap fetch extract cd /usr/ports/.../logitechmediaserver/ (tests off) make install clean echo 'logitechmediaserver_enable="YES"' >> /etc/rc.conf service logitechmediaserver start the server is not completely working as it should: I was only able to connect two of my Squeezeboxes (touch and radio). The second radio was not able to find the server. But via webif i was able to start some spotty play on the radio and i was able to listen. But the display on the radio still tells me i couldn't find any server. Very strange. Another thing i found out is: the old installation just has three open ports: 3483, 9000, 9090 But with the new "ports"-pkg i get 21,22,111,139,445,2049,6000 additionally to the 3483,9000,9090 Anyone who uses the ports version of LMS, too? Whats wrong with the discovery and why are there so many open ports? mrMuppet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34722 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108622 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
* A new beta release for QLogitechMediaServer, with support for architecture x86/i686. Change some minor thing on installation and init-script. On QTS 4.2 with x86_64 with a mixed of ELF32/ELF64 environment, the file /lib/ld-linux.so.2 to make perl work. So please check if it exist before installating it. Also please remove any old LMS/SSOTS and make sure there is no other perl actieve on youe QNAP. Before uninstalling make a back of you're LMS Cache and prefs directory on a save place. Then install supplied packet through the Qnap appstore manuelly. It will take a few minuts, and give some messages. If all goes correctly, it will install a working QLogitechMediaServer. Test is by logon to ssh shell and do [ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ], and [ ./LogitechMediaServer.sh status ]. This should tell you it running and give the pid number. Then do cat .Perl/perl-version, where it should say perl-i686 If it says running on the status command, don do any thing else there could error messages which you can ignore ! KEEP in mind only for testing us, so don't upgraded a existing QLogitechMediaServer. If you're QLogitechMediaServer works, don't install this version ! This version is the same as V1.05a, only a x86/i686 perl is added. 'QLogitechMediaServer V106.c BETA for Qnap QTS 4.2 and higher' (https://goo.gl/sbUotf) For other with a QNap x86_64 ( QTS 4.2 ), x86 and i686, where the V1.05a did not start can try this version. Check if /lib/ld-linux.so.2 exist, as perl needs it to work. If it work please let me know, and please tell me you're architecture and modelnumber and QTS version, so i can get a good idea. * * maintainer of QLogitechMediaServer and Qnap-Optware-NG. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How to make LMS radio stations available via DLNA?
Yes you can but it involves some changes to your setup and some trial and error. First you need to disable the upnp in LMS Then you need to install Phillipes upnpbridge and configure it to work with your DLNA devices After you have done so your Dlna devices appear as SB players and you can control them via LMS or a controller app Whether it will work depends on the Dlna devices you have which dont operate to a standard Look in 3rd party Software for full info on the upnpbridge plugin PI3 PCP/LMS STORAGE QNAP TS419P (NFS) *Living Room* - Joggler & SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 -> Celestion F20s *Office* - Pi3+Sreen -> Sony TAFE320 -> Celestion F10s / Pi2+DAC & SB3 -> Onkyo CRN755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - Pi2+DAC ->ToppingTP21 ->AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - SB Touch ->Sherwood AVR ->Mordaunt Short M10s Everything controlled by iPeng d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108600 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
I read serveral things run, but go wrong. Suggestion, remove QLogitechMediaServer through appstore. Then reboot your're Qnap and do a clean install. Wait until its ready, and then do logon to you're Qnap by ssh shell. The [ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ] and the [ ./LogitechMediaServer ]. If it says running with a pid number its running. Some times takes a few minuts before webgui get availble. Dont start doning things like failsafe, thats more for when old settings are imported and a plugin lets LMS crash at startup. If it says not running, do chmod -R 0755 SlimServer/, and chown -R admin SlimServer/. Then ./LogitechMediaServer.sh restart, and look at the screen. When is still says something went wrong, do rm -R SlimServer/ and them ./LogitechMediaServer.sh start. Something on youe Qnap makes LMS crash. jasell wrote: > ok, now i get some more... > > Code: > > [/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] # ./LogitechMediaServer.sh start > ln: /usr/lib/libgomp.so: File exists > ls: /usr/lib/libgomp.a: No such file or directory > rm: cannot remove `/usr/lib/libgomp.so': No such file or directory > ls: /usr/lib/libgomp.so.1: No such file or directory > rm: cannot remove `/usr/lib/libgomp.spec': No such file or directory > Something went wrong, check youre configuration. try do ./LogitechMediaServer.sh failsafe or reinstall QPKG! > [/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] # ./LogitechMediaServer.sh status > LogitechMediaServer is already running on [10058] ! > [/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] # > > > > I checked /usr/lib/ and there is no libgomp.* files > > The LogiteckMediaServer.log > > Code: > > [23:43:18 23-01-2018] Please wait a few minuts, have to build LMS from scratch ! > [23:44:38 23-01-2018] Upgrading LogitechMediaServer to 7.9.1-1516565589, please wait ! > [23:45:37 23-01-2018] Something went wrong, check youre configuration. try do /etc/init.d/LogitechMediaServer.sh failsafe or reinstall QPKG! > [23:51:04 23-01-2018] LogitechMediaServer is disabled in the appstore, or is not installed ! > [23:53:13 23-01-2018] Something went wrong, check youre configuration. try do /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/LogitechMediaServer.sh failsafe or reinstall QPKG! > [23:53:13 23-01-2018] Something went wrong, check youre configuration. try do ./LogitechMediaServer.sh failsafe or reinstall QPKG! > > * maintainer of QLogitechMediaServer and Qnap-Optware-NG.
