No need to be sorry. I personally prefer distinct threads for distinct
problems, rather than those hundreds of only loosely related messages

…I'm not sure if prevent standby plugin is actually working.
The log says it is ("[19-12-03 12:12:34.0015]

Preventing System Standby…"
but pmset -g doesn't indicate that caffeinate is preventing sleep.
Would you see from the log

I got a hold on the files making trouble on my friend's LMS. I don't see
this behavior on my LMS, so the problem seems to be on his installation.

uninstalled (again) LMS and cleaned registry, etc., reinstalled, updated

Wow, hadn’t noticed ngrok didn’t support UDP. Sorry for the false hopes.
Strictly speaking you don't need UDP for LMS/SB to work. It's only being
used to discover players and servers. But as you'll have to enter the
address in your client anyway, you can do without. But you'll still need

A bit like how I had always understood hacking to mean doing ingenious
things with a bit of kit to make it do what you want, whereas many
people use the term to mean breaking into remote systems.

It could also be checked on Ubuntu in a terminal:
Code:
sudo netstat -tulnp|grep :9090
On my Ubuntu

ngrok will provide control of players on your local network but it wont
allow a player to work on an external network as (above) it doesn't
support UDP

Maybe ngrok would provide a solution for you. SSH based, its
recommended for use with the MediaServer Alexa Skill to control LMS from
the cloud.
The concept is explained in the Server Configuration tab at

Any "interesting" message in LMS server.log ? Check for anything such as
something else may have grabbed 9090 before LMS starts.

As the title suggests, the (embedded) cover is not displayed if ALBUM is
empty. While I don't know why anyone would ever willingly do that, the
cover should be displayed.
What UI? What type of music file? Is other metadata showing?

You can confirm that port is still configured on your LMS setup by going
to your LMS web GUI then... Settings, Advanced tab, and then select
"Command Line Interface (CLI)" section from the pull down list.
This is where the CLI

Could a firewall on the LMS machine be blocking access for what it sees
as a new application?
(although ... would expect it to block access to port 9000 as well ...
unless, perhaps, your access to port 9000 was from same machine as LMS
is running on)
