I think you're specifically talking about Unicode display on the
Classic/Transporter/Boom? Unfortunately no recent Perl version I'm aware
of has support for this.
Just saw that piCorePlayer has a "perl_font_freetype.tcz" extension.
That should be what you need.

I am deciding to switch to the LMS that comes with the picoreplayer and
rpi. I am currently using the readynas. The version with readynas does
not display unicode chars like Chinese.

Whether or not it's the length of the track/file that's causing the
genre tag issue is interesting. I have an mp3 copy of -There's a Riot
Going On- by Sly and the Family Stone. The title track is zero length,
but is actually reported as 4 seconds on LMS. It it tagged with a genre,
which seems to

Hi All
I have just managed to setup my old SB classic again with the LMS on a
laptop. All is working well incl. Spotify.
During my LMS setup searches I have read here and there a bit regarding
setting up a LMS on Raspberry. For a long time I have been thinking to
get a Raspberry Pi for Pi-Hole.

Try changing the title to Exclamation Marks. I know its not ideal but
it may be that !! Is glitching the scanner.

I would like to have someone confirm the picoreplayer can do that before
purchase.
Thanks

After you change the file name, etc., you may need to do a clear and
rescan to really get LMS to see the changes. Or at

Hi Ronnie, yes very well, thanks.
LMS on Windows 10, and it's been fine until the update to 7.9.2

Each time I update LMS, I have to remember to change "Defeat destructive
Touch-To-Play" to "Do not defeat". If I remember correctly, the music
will stop after each song if I don't.

I'm using Windows 10/NTFS.
And changing the file name didn't help. LMS sees the file (and will
play it) but apparently not the genre tag.

Further to the above, I've now updated LMS to 7.9.3, but with the same
result. I've also confirmed it'a doing the same on Spotify, albeit not
at 30 seconds in, more at random.
The SBT didn't show an update available, just LMS.
Really annoying, so any ideas very welcome.

I can play the track using LMS. But if I drill down through genre -
which is almost always what I do - and play the album that way, the
first track (13 seconds of nonsense) would be omitted.
I can play the entire album, if I remember to drill down by album or
album artist.

Maybe its enough to rename the file itself and not its title to let it
be recognized?

Well, probably not an answer to your specific question, but I generally
remove characters such as ! which often have a system specific meaning
from filenames. Does the scanner see the file?

I purchased the album from iTunes (something I do very rarely),
downloaded it and added it to my LMS library (as well as my JRiver
library). I edited several of the tags including genre. Both iTunes
and JRiver recognize the genre for this
