It certainly works for me as described here by Michael. I select and
play a single track and halfway through the play it selects the next 5
tracks (or 10 in my case as I have changed the number selected). As it
moves through the list and is playing the second to last track it
selects the next 5 (10).

It seems the only time it fails to select tracks is if I manually move
forward to the last track but that is seldom the case.

Yes, have also cleared it and re entered and saved it. I am on 9.5 hrs
from GMT here and that is what it is set on for 9.30 CST (central
standard time). If the daylight saving is out of kilter it would be by 1
hour, it is out by 1.5 hours. The list of times provided in pCP OpenWRT
page says to useCST-9:30CST,M10.1.0,M4.1.0/3 for Australia, Adelaide.
That is what I have entered.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS problems with time being reported in Media Scan Details

2021-03-29 Thread DavidBulluss

I am using Raspberry pi3 with pCP and nightly updates of LMS. I have set
the correct system time in pCP and correct time is showing on my LMS
Touch screens. Internet modem/router time has been checked and is set
correctly. My computer system is displaying correct time. My problem is
that currently I have Rescan Media Library set to do a daily scan at
8.30am local time. Historically it has always behaved and started the
task at that time, taking just a few minutes to complete. In the last
few months I have noticed that the scan is commencing exactly 1.5 hours
later than the set time, i.e. at 10.00am local time. This happens every
day. Has anyone else noticed this, and more to the point, am I missing a
setting somewhere? It isn't a huge problem as I can work around it, but
am curious to solve it!

Cheers, David

I am still having trouble with it. Nightly update reports that there is
no update available. It is so long since I did one manually I have
forgotten which update file to use for Raspberry pi / pCP, and also how
to do the update manually.

I edited the line 577 of HTTP.pm script with the { but that didn't
work.

The musical silence is killing me! ;)

The auto rescan not working so I try to set time but it always reverts
to 12.00 am and does not scan. It is turned on. Has been working with no
problem until around when pCP 5.0.0 was installed. I also reinstalled

working. I have checked the time zone etc. in pCP and they are set up
ok. LMS appears to know what the time is. Any thoughts?

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on pCP nightly updates failing

2018-12-13 Thread DavidBulluss

For all of this week the nightly update 7.9.2 - 53860 is available but
when I try the 'nightly update' in pCP first message is

-LMS Update Found:

Download and update LMS-

When I use 'update' the message below appears

-/usr/local/bin/lms-update.sh: line 36: /usr/bin/getopt: not found-

I heartily support using a Raspberry Pi to run LMS, works a treat and
very cost effective in my opinion. I changed from using a supported
ReadyNAS to using a Pi with a hard drive storage plugged into it, but
could just as easily have used the ReadyNAS as the storage.

Nightly update of LMS succeeded this morning - v7.9.2, 1537960170 - but
LMS keeps insisting that there is a new update available both in LMS GUI
and in pCP GUI. Have updated now 4 times, restarted system etc. but it
is still insistant. I guess it will correct itself after next nightly.

Am still experiencing the same problem. Apart from restarting my full
system... pCP, LMS, wifi router and access points... nothing has changed
but the playlist has reverted to one three days ago. Had been playing
one of my saved playlists yesterday. Not a huge issue, but annoying.

I just tried pressing BACKUP in pCP and then after it returned to main
page I restarted the Pi. The playlist had disappeared except for the two
seed tracks, it restarted again where it had been 2 hours before.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9.2, reverts to previous playlist after restart

2018-08-10 Thread DavidBulluss

Pi3 with pCP 4.0.0b6 and LMS 7.9.2 nightly. Using DSTM I select a seed
and of course it populates correctly with new tracks and the playlist
grows. That is all good, no problems with DSTM, but if I stop LMS and
then restart pCP (and obviously LMS) then LMS will often revert to the
playlist I had played the day before, not the current playlist. Can be
very annoying!

Hi Paul, "refreshing" the synced connection seemed to be the fix, thanks
for your help on it. From memory it was the same solution last time, but
of course it had gone out of my head when it happened this time! Just
for information, both players are supposedly identical SBTs and the sync
settings are identical. Not a big problem as long as I remember the fix
for next time :o

Michael - PCM is disabled wherever possible. Also, I do not havean MP3
converter (LAME) on my system, so I assume MP3 is also disabled.

Paul & Michael - I completely disconnected the second player after
un-synchronising. Problem has gone. Played for 4 hours without an issue,
mix of Spotify and my library, no issues. Reconnected 2nd player and
again no issues. Played for 2 hours, then synced the 2nd to the 1st.
Played another 2 hours without a problem. The system is now set exactly
as it was when the problem was happening, but by completely removing the
second synced player and then reintroducing it the problem has been
fixed. Interesting!

As an aside, I have just come to realise that DSTM with LastMix ticked
actually streams from Spotty; I naively thought that it was streaming
from LastFM, I realise now that it only pulls the mix down from there!
So when I say I am having pauses in streaming from LastFM & Spotty I
really mean just Spotify (Spotty).

I have two SBTs connected to the pi3, and they are both synced. This
set-up has been status quo for a couple of years and to be honest, I had
the same issue about a year ago, but then it was not just streaming
services but my own library connected direct to the pi. I have only
become aware of the problem with LastFM and Spotty in the last couple of
weeks as the previous issue was solved a year ago, but I can't recall
the fix!

There are no neighbours using my wi-fi, and the internet comes via
cable.

I will change my SBTs so that only one is connected to the pi and trial
that.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS pausing when streaming Spotty and LastFM

2018-06-23 Thread DavidBulluss

Using pi3 with LMS 7.9.2 always updated. SBT is connected by wireless to
internet modem. The connection is used by other devices and has no
streaming issues. Highest rate FLAC files stream from my library over
wifi to SBT with no problems. Usually if there is a buffering issue the
screen reads "re-buffering", but that is not happening when Spotty and
LastFM (via DSTM), there are random pauses of 6 seconds but not in every
song. I have tried dropping the bitrate in Spotty from 320 down to 160
but behaviour is the same. I am confident it is not an internet/wi-fi
issue as I have tested both with other devices using Spotify at extreme
rate. Any thoughts?

Update to Lastmix FM = don't stop the music (V1.1.7) appeared today. Is
there a brief of changes or bug fixes available?

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS library rescan time stopped working

2017-11-22 Thread DavidBulluss

Broken again! The auto scan at 9.00 am today did not happen. I then set
another scan for a later time, and that time passed without scan. I had
done a restart of pCP and LMS at 7.00 am before the autoscan programmed
time, and the server.log shows that the rescan plugin was loaded. When I
checked the settings they were all correct. Screen cap of server.log
below.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS library rescan time stopped working

2017-11-21 Thread DavidBulluss

About a month ago I set up the rescan timer for a daily scan of changed
and new files. It worked on the dot every morning at the selected time.
I have noticed over the past few days that it no longer scans
automatically. I have checked all settings, restarts, etc. pCP on the
Pi3 has correct time zone, although if it were wrong it would just
happen at the wrong time, it doesn't auto scan at all. I have updated
LMS with every nightly update as they become available. Currently LMS
7.9.1 - 1510723637

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix

2017-09-09 Thread DavidBulluss

I am giving LastMix a try in conjunction with DSTM. I have it set to
local songs only. Scrobbling local and Spotify tracks. Quite impressed!
It always adds 5 songs on to to list at a time. The first 5 added are
very close to the seed track, but as each 5 is added it wanders away
quickly. I understand why, so my question is: Can the setting for number
of songs added be changed? Have been searching for it but no luck.

UPDATE: I have now created a playlist folder on Raspberry
(/mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/slimserver/Cache/LMS playlists) and changed its
permissions to octal 0777 (just in case!) using WINSCP. Pointed LMS at
the folder, scanned, created a playlist and saved it. All good, it
works. Have now transferred all m3u files from ReadyNAS playlist folder
to the new one on Raspberry, rescan, all good, every working as it
should!

Lesson from this: even if media library is external set the playlist
folder up on the pCP bootdisk.

Server - Raspberry pi3 running pCP 3.21 and LMS 7.9.1.
Media library stored on ReadyNAS Duo V2. LMS pointed at media library.
Playlists stored on ReadyNAS Duo V2. LMS pointed at playlist folder.

I have looked at permissions of the playlist folder on the ReadyNAS and
"everyone" has full control. When I check permissions with WINSCP via
Raspberry the octal is 0755. I tried to change that to 0777 but it won't
allow it, error code 3.

Should I have the playlist stored on the SD card of the Raspberry?

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS, pCP. Raspbery, & Spotty... playlists help needed!

2017-08-06 Thread DavidBulluss

Hi,

Posting this in the main LMS thread as not sure if it is to do with
Raspberry, pCP, or SPOTTY!

Changed from ReadyNAS with LMS 7.9.1 to a Raspberry pi3 with pCP and LMS
7.9.1 so that I can enjoy SPOTTY, and it is great! Have now learned how
to change file paths in my saved playlists so that I can point pCP LMS
at the playlists folder in the ReadyNAS and it works (much thanks to
kidstypike & d6jg for their help on how to do that). Have now noticed
that any playlist that is totally made up of tracks from my own library
works 100%. Any playlist that also includes any Spotify tracks will only
display and play the Spotify tracks, omitting the tracks from my
library.

First few lines of a m3u file with my library tracks only which plays
correctly:

Hi, I went into the ReadyNas dashboard interface and opened the LMS
Installed Add-on. Once there I unticked the left hand top box to stop
LMS. Then I ticked the box for 'clean cache folder.etc.' and
then 'run cleanup'. Once it had completed I restarted LMS (left top box
tick and save) and once started it initiated a full library scan, after
which it was running perfectly.

Question, have you been keeping up with LMS 7.9 updates? I fell behind
for several months once and started getting unusual issues and updating
fixed them.

I have been into the ReadyNas beforeto pull out a LMS log and I had to
map the network drive to do it. For the life of me this time I can not
map the drive, after working through passwords etc. it tells me the path
is invalid! Aaaah, sleep, then try again in the morning!

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9.0 on ReadyNas Duo V2 - unable to connect, unable to open " Free Your Music"

2016-04-06 Thread DavidBulluss

The system has run very well with only few glitches for a year or two.
Recently the players have been working ok but alternating into "trying
to connect" - three players involved, all can not be faulty at the same
time. I have been running LMS 7.9.0-1459712283. Yesterday it became
worse so I unticked LMS add-on, to stop it, closed down the ReadyNas,
restarted ReadyNas, waited for it to be fully functioning, restarted
LMS... but it seems not to start. The ReadyNas lights blink
appropriately to show it starting, but when I click "Free Your Music"
the browser window opens with "The connection was reset" and a try again
button. I have tried waiting an hour between starting LMS and opening
the browser but still have the issue. The ReadyNas is fully functioning
in all other ways, no problems accessing it with the browser. I have now
taken a step back and loaded the previous LMS 7.9.0-1459489175, but
still the same. The players are unable to connect to the LMS in the
ReadyNas. Last night before LMS refused to start, while in off mode, and
also while playing music, the players were intermittently showing the
"trying to connect" screen. I have never seen that when in off mode
before.

I can not get into LMS to check logs!

Any suggestions. I am not keen on removing the LMS add-on from the
ReadyNas and then installing fresh due to time it will take to get
plugins back in, and settings, SmartMix mixes etc.

All suggestions appreciated!

Regards,

David.

Thanks! I added the link
http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/project/lms-plugins-philippe44/repo-sf.xml
and after a restart it works.

Cheers!

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Chromecast Bridge plugin has disappeared and LMS wants to restart continuously

2016-03-06 Thread DavidBulluss

Server Settings>Plugins - found Chromecast Bridge in available plugins
and ticked it. Clicked "apply", ticked prompt for "restart now" for
application restart. After restart the LMS home page shows a random
single digit number next to the info indicator at bottom left of screen.
Navigate to plugins and it is again asking for an application restart.
Note that there is no reference to Chromecast Bridge plugin anywhere on
that page... not active and not available. Have tried the application
restart several times, as well as a ReadyNas server restart. The only
thing that changes from restart to restart is the random single digit
number at the info indicator on the home screen of LMS.

Any advice available, apart from removing LMS and reinstalling? Takes
forever to set everything up again!

Regards, David

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Anyone tried LMS with Synology DiskStation DS216Play NAS? Thoughts?

2016-01-18 Thread DavidBulluss

Looking to upgrade from my ReadyNAS Duo V2 as it is a tad slow at times
and also is not able to stream flac 24/192 without pausing to buffer.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers, David
