Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Install on RaspberryPi: "Trying to commit transactions before DB is initialized!"
Thanks for the hint, that the message is "normal". I found LMS running on port 9001. But I did not know that it automatically 'changes' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?105257-Port-9000-on-LMS-not-working&p=847257&viewfull=1#post847257) its port. Just for completeness: I used 8.1.1., not the nightly build 8.1.2 you suggested. But many thanks for the comprehensive answer! It is a bit sad that there is no standard source for installation information that would contain the port changing information and also some information on dependencies. Or maybe there is and I just don't know? bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114823 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I also enjoy the discovery: "Oh boy, haven't listened to this song in such a long time." If I don't like it I would not have put it into my library. On the other hand: I like to DJ with vinyl. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How to setup Username and Password for LMS?
philchillbill wrote: > If you need to access LMS remotely, use something like ngrok which will > give you a https url for LMS with encrypted credentials. Hey philchilllbill, as suspected I run into troubles. That's why I did not set it up yet. I have a working NGINX config for my Radicale account. Radicale is an option to have a CalDAV and CardDAV server at home. This setup is special because I use the credentials I put in to log into NGINX also to log into the Radicale account that gets proxied. I copied this mostly from a German site. Now I want to add a plain and "simple" NGINX authentication to let me access the LMS which is on the same server but under a different port, of course. I have one user in my Code: .htpasswd . I just put a second user and password in with the appropriate command. I CAN LOG INTO PORT 18889 BUT THEN I DON'T GET FORWARDED TO LMS BUT I SEE A PAGE OF NGINX TELLING ME IT IS RUNNING BUT NEEDS MORE CONFIG. Can you maybe spot the issue? This is my Code: /usr/local/nginx/conf/nginx.conf : Code: #user nobody; worker_processes 1; error_log logs/error.log; error_log logs/error.log notice; error_log logs/error.log info; #pidlogs/nginx.pid; events { worker_connections 1024; } http { auth_basic "NGINX"; auth_basic_user_file .htpasswd; # ssl_certificate ssl/server.crt; ssl_certificate /etc/letsencrypt/live/bvrulez/fullchain.pem; # ssl_certificate_key ssl/server.key; ssl_certificate_key /etc/letsencrypt/live/bvrulez/privkey.pem; include mime.types; default_type application/octet-stream; #log_format main '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" ' # '$status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" ' # '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"'; #access_log logs/access.log main; sendfileon; #tcp_nopush on; #keepalive_timeout 0; keepalive_timeout 65; #gzip on; server { server_name MYPERSONALSERVER.COM; listen 1 ssl; location / { proxy_passhttp://localhost:5232/; proxy_set_header X-Script-Name /; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header X-Remote-User $remote_user; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_pass_header Authorization; auth_basic"Nginx-Radicale - Password Required"; #auth_basic_user_file /etc/nginx/htpasswd; } } server { server_name MYPERSONALSERVER.COM; listen 18889 ssl; location / { proxy_pass http://localhost:9000/; } } } bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114336 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Random Tracks Playlist - Are played tracks counted? - Feature request
Thanks, I will check the plugin out! BTW: Are random selections working well? I have some weird behavior. My genre "Discogs" shows 463 tracks. But if I do a random playlist from this genre with the "random *artist*" or "random *album*" I get all sorts of additional tracks that should not be in there. I checked if I might have tagged wrong mp3-tags but this is not the case (also those tracks do not come up under the genre as I said and they are in totally different folders.). It's always the same: - Random titles -> correct tracks from just that genre - Random artists (Interpreten in german) -> some of the correct tracks plus mostly totally wrong tracks - Random albums -> a lot of the correct tracks but some weird additional ones Also, every time I do this and delete the playlist, the order of the ramdomly added tracks is exactly the same. I do this from the main "random titles" menu in the GUI. I just updated from 7.9 to 8.1 and deleted and re-scaned my library. Sorry for the long post. I maybe should start a new thread on this. bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113937 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Okay, so based on this I now assume that when I power off the Squeezebox and start it again this means the mix is not restarted but it is the same mix running. This is good. But I might listen to other channels in between, e.g. a web radio. When I come back to the random mix by pressing the physical button it then will be started again. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Random Tracks Playlist - Are played tracks counted? - Feature request
Thanks for the comprehensive responses! I am indeed referring to multiple starts of "random" and it would be a good thing if a counter in the background puts a value to a song in terms of amounts played. *But just in this special context,* not an overall counter. The context should be defined by the _settings_of_the_random_menu._ In my case I have just one option set for one certain genre. (I DJ as a hobby and I want to make sure I listen to all of the tracks in my repertoire.) A simpler option would be to use a global counter: The random playlist will arrange only the least played tracks in general. This would be a good intermediate solution. There should be an option to set all tracks to 0, for having a clean start. Another option could be to create a huge playlist. As I understand a click/press will start a playlist of 20 songs. If a larger playlist of all possible songs would be created it could be saved and then restored upon the next start (of the same context). Maybe it would also be possible to save a huge list but only load 20 songs out of it, save the last song when "power off" is pressed and then load 20 songs from that starting point at the next start. Just some thoughts. Maybe some day I will be able to code that stuff, too. With 40 years of age I still have about 30 left to learn. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Random Tracks Playlist - Are played tracks counted? - Feature request
I made a playlist for random tracks per title of a certain genre and saved it as a playlist. Will the titles that have been played with that list be saved/counted so they will not re-occur before the whole genre "played through"? If not, I would like to suggest this as a feature. Also, I put this playlist of random tracks on a physical preset button of my Boom. This was only possible through the physical device, by putting the playlist under favorites on the server via WebGUI and then finding it on the physical device under favorites and long-pressing the button. I would suggest putting an option on the GUI, also. Thanks again for this awesome software/hardware-combination! Also, the error regardin 'LZMAFILE' seems to relate to a packed file (that probably needs to be unpacked but cannot due to lack of space). bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110834 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Unable to reach LMS web gui after fresh installation
Lack of space may be related to a certain part of the disk. Please give output of `sudo df`. You said you removed `perl` but the error is about `python`. From my knowledge there can be multiple versions of `python` on one system. I am not sure if it is related. The error coming up at `purge` seems to indicate that there is indeed a problem with the OS, maybe? But again, I am just guessing. I would still advice you to buy a cheap RaspberryPI (model 2 would be enough) and put your LMS there. This would make it possible to listen to music while solving the problem. :) bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110834 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can I copy server.prefs from one machine to another? (No connection with firewall)
Following a hint from someone I allowed all ports from a certain client's IP address in the firewall. Now there is no problem. So it seems that the connection is established using a different port than the one I know: 3438. Or maybe there is something wrong with my firewall (and that port, since 9000 works fine). bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110951 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can I copy server.prefs from one machine to another? (No connection with firewall)
I have two Raspberries with Raspbian on them and copied the Code: /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/server.prefs from one machine to the other. I have uncomplicated firewall activated. It is on both like this: Code: $ sudo ufw status Status: active To Action From -- -- 22/tcp LIMIT Anywhere 22 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 90 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 31337 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 3438 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 9000 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 9090 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 445ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 8200 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 1900 ALLOW 192.168.100.0/24 22/tcp (v6)LIMIT Anywhere (v6) A few days ago I changed my hostname. Yesterday I rebooted both machines. They also run bitcoin, minidlna and cifs and it all works. Both hostnames look like this (RPi2 for the other machine). Code: $ cat /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters 127.0.1.1 RPi3 ~ - 08:22:33 - pi - RPi3@192.168.100.169 Tue Sep 10 $ cat /etc/hostname RPi3 My squeezeboxes can access the old server but *they can not access the new server unless I deactivate the firewall. * I don't understand this behaviour. First, I thought it might be related to the firewall setting up its rules with hostnames. I was under the impression that deleting the rule and setting it up newly was helping. But today I again have the same problem. My squeezebox does not connect. I *can* connect via the GUI, but it then of course shows no entry for the boxes. bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110951 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

What do you meant by that question? bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110314 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Layout?
Thanks for the reply. Apparently, I installed 7.9 like I said in this post a few days ago 'here' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?110279-LSM-on-Raspi-is-running-but-Website-not-reachable). I downloaded the .deb from slimdevices.com. I use a plugin to play songs from youtube. This worked well in the past. Maybe I have to renew some API code because I updated the LMS. My GUI looks like the attached screenshot. Is this normal? 26938 +---+ |Filename: slim.JPG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=26938| +---+ bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110314 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Layout?
Hi, is there a new layout with latest version from slimdevices.com? I had to re-install my stuff and now I recognised that the GUI looks differently. Also, I am not able to play a video from youtube. I can put the video in the field and it gets found but there is no start button. This whole thing looks a bit half-finished. I testet in another browser and it looks the same. Version should be 7.2 if that's the latest one. bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110314 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

My RPI is some years old so I would suspect it should be a 32bit. But I read that newer ones run 32bit Software on 64 architecture. That's why I was not sure what to use as download. Maybe the process gets killed because it is not 32bit? But should there not be an error loading it anyway? bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110279 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

This seems to happen every 8 seconds. The version is v7.9.1 and it is 64bit.* scanner.log has the last entry from 4 months ago. perfmon.log is empty. Maybe I should purge the whole program and reinstall new. Can you tell me where the settings are stored so I might be able to make a backup? bvrulez's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110279 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LSM on Raspi is running but Website not reachable
I have been running LMS on my Raspi for a while now and never had issues. Today I rewired all my connections on my desk and therefore switched the Raspi on and off several times. Now, I cannot connect to the Web GUI any more. I am able to connect via SSH and Teamviewer. My several Squeezeboxes and my Android app Squeezer also cannot find the server. I tried Code: sudo service logitechmediaserver status and also start, stop, restart and force-reload to make sure the serice runs fine. I get the output that the service is running activley (on status). I also checked my router in case it is a firewall thing. It is an EDGE Router with a highly configurable GUI so I am not really able to tell if all is fine there. Given that I never had problems I would not understand why it now should block anything from my Raspi. I have a forwarding rule for incomming traffic to my NAS which originally included the port 9000 which the Raspi is using. Since I don't connect via internet but just inside my LAN this should not be a problem, but to make sure I took 9000 out of the range and added a rule to forward it to the Raspi. I also tried to install the latest version of LMS using the download from slimdevices and then stopping the server and Code: sudo dpkg -i dowload_arm_all.deb I am not sure if my Rasperry is 32 or 64 bit but since I did not get an error I think I managed to do well with the file "_all". Which outputs should be comming after this command? Also, where can I check which version of LMS is actually running to make sure the update did work? I wanted to do a re-install with preserving my settings. That's why I did not purge before installing the update. Should I purge? Is there a way to save the settings for all my boxes? Thanks a lot!
