I noticed that, too, and share your pain !
But at least LMS can now handle this type of stream in future, should it
ever gain traction...
Thanks. Sadly, Bauer have now pulled their Ogg FLAC streams. [emoji24]

Is there way to allow LMS to parse certain playlist files containing Ogg
FLAC streams?
PLS and M3U.
Two examples:
Absolute Radio
http://network.absoluteradio.co.uk/core/audio/oggflac/live.pls?service=ar
Mellow Magic http://icecast-beta.timlradio.co.uk/mellowmagic.ogg.m3u

Just to report back. I've downloaded a suitable flac binary from ralphy
and everything's now working as it should.
Thanks for the pointers, bpa!

pinkdot has done LMS build for synology systems - he may be able to
provide an Ogg enabled version of flac.

Can't enable - it is an option at build time to include code and link
with a libOGG library.

I don't have builds on hand. A build for your system - has to

Yes the executables in the Bin directory can be changed (e.g. copy from
an old verison fo LMS) but make sure ownership & permissions are exactly
the same.
Also don't delete "original" just rename so that you can

Squeezeplay shows 7.8.0 r328 (Settings, Advanced, About).
I'm guessing it play natively, since it no longer plays when I disable
Ogg FLAC in LMS.

Flac runs OK but could the flac version be too

The executable is "flac" at the end of the its full directory path so
that there can be no mistake that you test the same version as used by
LMS.

This may not be possible if you can't get at LMS files.
You need to check whether the support executable flac actually runs on
your system

Windows - PLAYS.
Ogg FLAC disabled (and FLAC is flac/flac):

Nothing looks disabled except mp3 transcoding.
It seems my Synology NAS doesn't have LAME, so it can't stream to mp3.
I don't know if the Squeezeplay app on my Joggler can only (try to)
Plays OK for me with a very recent 7.9.2 - have disabled anythign in
FileTYpes ?

[19-08-20 22:41:33.1855]
Just to add, I've now SSHed into my LMS and found this (correct) line in
my types.conf file:
ops opus audio/opus,audio/ogg;codecs=opus audio
What could be the problem?

First of all: update to the latest build available.

(sigh) this sounds like new decoding issues for the YT plugin (not
because of LMS, but because I can see YT using that format more and more

No problem.
It would be an elegant add on wouldn't it
Hi d6jg,
Sorry I misunderstood, the only recording I've done was not to the pi
but to my laptop as I mentioned. I don't have any experience of using
the pi in the way you suggest but wish you luck in your quest.

Hi d6jg
I use 'Squeezeplay' on my windows laptop to play the stream and then
record with 'Cool Edit Pro' (a very old bit of software now) but I think
you could use 'Audacity' to record.
If the recorded file has a number of tracks within it I then split and
convert it to seperate tracks with 'CD

That fixed it! Thankyou very much, good to have some old vinyl synced
around the house again!
Do I need to make this edit if I update LMS on another occasion?
No need, I just committed that change. We recently added support for Ogg
Opus. And the mime types configuration for Opus "hijacked"

Could you please edit types.conf, modifying the line for "ops opus" to
look like this instead:
ops opusaudio/opus,audio/ogg;codecs=opus audio
Then restart LMS. Would that help?
