Tried to stream some flac files for first time this evening and got an
error message for each one.
Is this expected ?

No.
They should play FLACs natively.
Occasionally FLACs downloaded from some online retailers eg HD Tracks
dont work.
Try re-converting
I just updated my local server yesterday.looks like it’s about
ready.
Please keep in mind that LMS8 might prompt the user to update daily (or
whenever there's a change being comitted). That's probably not for
everybody...

Tune-in works for other users so problem is more likely at your end.

16.04 was indeed working fine, the rescan problems started with 18.04.

I've revised the patch which I'm testing atm - good so far. A couple of

1. When playing a podcast, there's no "station" info (as I originally
conceived). LMS puts in a shortened version of the meta title in
track->title. I'm filtering that out if it matches the metadata title

Just go to the tweaks page and install pcp-streamer.
That will setup a http stream from your device. Then just play that
url from wishing LMS.

Thank you Greg for reminding me that Squeezelite can be disabled. I
haven't thought about that. Presumably then the 'player' doesn't exist
and doesn't show up in the list of players - which is what I want.

I don't know anything Pandora but it is separate from JazzFM. AFAIK
Pandora is a US only and setting mysb location will not change where the
