I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this query, or whether
to start a fresh thread. Advice on that is welcome!
I'm running "Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 -

Thanks Michael - "yum clean all / yum update" gave me this version of
It was as simple as changing the motherboard battery. Turns out the PC
didn't want to boot when the battery had just a little power left in it,
enough to confuse the BIOS but not enough to feed the boot process. It
was a lot cheaper than a new computer!

The only two times this has been the solution for me (two different PCs,
some years apart) the PC had booted fine the previous time it was used,
had been left unplugged from the wall

My browser Google Chrome and the pop-up tray doesn't have an icon for
LMS. Am I looking in the right place, or is there a setting somewhere
that needs

I've now rebooted, and all is still working. I'm using RealVNC, just

Sorry if this is either a bad place, or a dumb question:
Today the settings/information page on LMS tells me I'm running
"Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.3 - 1584993250 @ Tue Mar 24 04:07:49

At the bottom of the home page is a message: "A new version of Logitech

Thanks - VNC has done the trick for me. But it was a mission

Thanks, understood. Maybe a suggestion for the future, enable client
browsers to initiate updates to LMS?
Cheers :-)

Thanks! I'm trying that now, and Avast tells me to stand by for a couple
of hours while their lab verifies that you're not taking over the world
with a virus.
And I don't

I have downloaded again a couple of hours ago, so I hope I'm on the

Thanks guys! So much to learn, you can complete the rest.

Hi - I've updated post #1 in this thread to make direct reference to
your Python script. If
This may not help, so I'm sorry if it's a distraction.
Ages ago I had a similar problem and no amount of altering the tags got
rid of the problem. The root cause turned out to be my including in
'Comments" reviews of albums which exceeded the character limit for the
field, causing corruption

That doesn't seem to offer one album per line of output. It's a neat app
though, and is easy to use.

Every now and then I search the forums to see if there is a simple,
single-click way to output a list of all the Albums I've got, sorted by
Artist (must have) and Album Title (a nice bonus) and one album per row.
I've not come across one so spent some lockdown hours ploughing through
things that

Ooh - what did I miss? I didn't find a way to list only the albums
without the tracks, which gave me >1600 pages of output. I'll go back to
your app and try again.

There's a setting to select whether to include Spotify, via the Spotty
plug-in, in the library scan. That led to my library having lots of
entries that were only in Spotify, and

Wow - lightning fast, indeed! Maybe five seconds - plus a half hour to
find the output LOL !! A very usable file under 200KB listing my 3.2k
albums.
I'm a Python

Amazing - I've now made a 2-line batch file that runs the python then
opens the output file in my web browser. With a shortcut to the batch
file on my desktop, it's
