The logitechmediaserver-?.?.?-??.tgz is the filename, to download and used with QLogitechMediaServer. And that should be the file placed in the Download share of you're QNap, to do a mannuel up/down graded with QLogoitechMediaServer. As explained the one to download, and put inside the share. The filename with -arm-linux inside or any other, is never used or should be used, as QLogitechMediaServer wont know what to do wiith it. Thanks blackbite, its downloading now hopefully it will work. Unfortunately I am a total Linux newbie, so have no idea how to check for the correct permissions. What doesn't help is that the ouput from ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh keeps outputing weird characters which I think are meant to produce either colors or move text around inside the terminal. Not sure if I'm imagining it as I thought that was an improvement it seemed to say it was going to upgrade to 8.0.0-1598791476, thought I saw that on screen, but then later it talked about up/downgrading and then listed one of the later numbers of the versions that don't work, and I cannot see reference in my logs to my last working version. Also even after chaning those settings in the config file it keeps going through the Code: [8.8.0] First let's check is there is a update for LogitechMediaServer. I tried modifying the .QLMS.conf (which is hidden) as follows: Code: # Update settings ! NOUPDATE=1# (0) [ When set only manuel update can be done, or UPDATE=/NIGHTLY= ?.?.? will trigger a update ! ] UPDATE=0 # (1) [ Will check on official update on every startup, 0 will disable it. ] NIGHTLY=0 # (1) [ Check on NIGHTLY update on every startup, 0 will disable it. ] #NOMAJOR=0# (0) [ When set NIGHTLY wont check a major level up. Example when set if RELEASE is 7.9.2, NIGHLY will not check 8.0.0 ] However it fails to start, I don't think the rollback command is doing anything, and then it keeps trying fallback mode which I don't want it to do Stone Free's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31773 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108292 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

What format should the backup be in? I uploaded logitechmediaserver-8.0.0-1598791476-arm-linux.tgz as I have a 219P, but maybe it needs to be extracted? Bugger just missed your message, I tried to install version 2.21 of this, hoping that might fix it. Then I did a clean which probably removed the backup, as I've just tried rollback and it didn't work Also confused why I don't seem to have a .QLMS.conf in .qpkg/LogitechMediaServe, yet I do have it in my QLMS_BCKUP_8.0.tgz Is there a way to get it to install a specific version as from the logs I know the last working one was 8.0.0-1598791476 Stone Free's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31773 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108292 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I did a ssh into my nas and ran ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh rollback and downgraded to the last nightly build. For this you have to have a backup of the last builds in /share//.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/Backup. And take care of you settings in the .QLMS.conf file. See here: ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh rollback Lets you rollback, to earlier installed release of LMS if they have been installed. Will show a menu, where you can choice a older version. ( Only if that version was installed earlier ) ( Very usfull if a new release is causing trouble, don't forget to disable updates with NOUPDATE=0 to stop updating/upgrading ! ) LMS is running and the next nightly will soon be fixed, so you can reenable the update settings. Please don't shoot me, should I be asking the questions in the wrong way. :-) My issue is: After listening to nice music yesterday evening, this morning I the QLogitechMediaServer did not start anymore. Tried to run the a restart, made a clean install, as mentioned in the README_ON_TROUBLE file, however nothing helped. I attached 3 files: 1.) Yes the update routine, is changed a bit. The same for the upgrade routine. Removed some old stuff, and made some things smaller. But still everything depenps on the work load of youÅe QNap Nas-System. With several thing running in the backGround like Plex,Sabnzbd, lidarr and more, some times ot can take longer. First if LMS is installed, will check for example from 9.0.0 down to 8.0.0., Nightly from 9.0 untill 8.0. Big change in this release, all is done in the memory. On upgraded first it will do a check on the tar file if its not corrupted. But nice to read you noticed the speed.:o TinyTommy wrote: > Hi all, > > I have the feeling that this update process was even smoother than the > last one. > > Cheers > Thomas * maintainer of QLogitechMediaServer, QOptware-NG and QAutoSub. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
Hi, not entirely sure when this began, but since 2.06 or so the update won't run properly on my TS112 (latest Firmware). This is really not a big thing, since I had to do this all the time when I used SSOTS, but still.. I have to remove the LMS package entirely, restart my NAS and then manually install your separately downloaded app (x19 for the TS112). (Adding the QNAPClub as an app source doesn't work either, seems like the TS112 doesn't fit in properly.) Like I said, not a big thing as such, but -*saving and restoring my settings*- is a PITA for me. More than half of the time something or other of my old settings won't make it to the new install and I configure it all from scratch. (Which keeps you on your toes, not bad in times likes this..) So, in the long run I'd be happier if it all worked automatically. What, if anything, can I do to try and help idendentify the exact problem with that update? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
Thanks! Now I'm back in business again. I was a bit worried that I had to redo all my settings there, but Imanaged to get it all back. However I learned some potential pitfalls. I apparently had nomajor=0 and whenever I was to do a manual restart that would have triggered the 8.0 upgrade. As it was the QLMS upgrade was the one triggering this. And who would have thought that we would ever see an 8.0 release? I seems like you as part of the upgrade of a Major release perform a backup of the settings, real good! But the backup use the version of that we upgrade to, and not what we "upgrade" from. When I upgrade (unvoulteringly) upgrade from 7.9.3 to 8.0.0 my settings was backed up as 8.0. When I now downgraded to 7.9.3 my settings were again backed up as 7.9. But when I wanted to restire my setting from my original 7.9.3 system I had to rename the 8.0 backup to 7.9. I figured it out but it wasn't strightforward, at least I now run 7.9.3 with my settings from before the QLMS / 8.0 upgrade. As I now do a manual start from Putty I get a quite feedback. There are a few line breaks missing, seems like a grep is not used correct as well. Should I do something about the "fixing owner/right's the old way"? @Digimaster I thought i do some maintenance as I'm just hanging around at home in these Corona-times... I saw the 2.10.6 upgrade available on Qnap club, I was on 2.10.2 before. I proceeded with the upgrade but was stuck on 80% for hours. So I did a restart of my qnap. -QLMS did not start by it self. I entered via Putty and tried to start manually I got the check for upgrade, new style which seems to tried a bunch of versions until it settled for 7.9.2 Then, but no download of software was required... Then a few message of about setting ownership/permission Then a message launching in background. But with out success. I tried additional restart of the Qnap but same as above. What should I do to get up and running again? Thanks, @digimaster for creating this simple package for QNAP users. I am a new QNAP user, switched from synology. There has never been an issue with synology NAS running LMS. It has not been easy with QNAP, which is odd. This package fills that gap. However, I have been unable to display unicode on my transporter. The LMS runs on a TVS-471-i3 with 16GB of RAM. I had no such problem with LMS running on a Synology NAS. So, I would need have the last fanless model with SSD and quad core CPU to speed up response time of the Qnap, but regarding all manipulation I had done few years ago to install on a TS-131, I'd just expect it is easier today to install a media server type LMS on a Qnap ... Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
Hi All - quick update and questions; just got my brand new QNAP HS-453DX NAS and have it up and running with QLMS installed and music library copied over onto it's local drive(s)! All looking good so far - just waiting for the new RAID array rebuild to finish before I start testing initial basic playback with my Squeezebox Touch and start customising LMS (plugins, etc). In the meantime couple of quick 'knowledge' questions: 1. -what permissions are needed on the media file folders/directories (music & playlist libraries) for QLMS to run okay- (e.g. do they need public read permissions, or is local admin read/write adequate) - alternately is it just as per usual LMS config? I'm not planning to share media to other 'servers' from this specific NAS as all my music playback will be through LMS and it's external hardware & software players (i.e. squeezebox Touch, Allo USBridge Signature, iPeng software players on iPhones/iPads, etc). Didn't see any direct reference to this when searching. 2. And incidentally @digimaster -should the QLMS install have created the appropriate directories for LMS- that would be created when a normal LMS install from scratch occurs? It didn't seem to for me FWIW but my NAS as noted is brand new and only had the default public folders/directories present and nothing else. Thanks for prompt reply @digimaster - Understand - and its great you have developed this app for the QNAP NAS's. I am planning on needing an external player (like Sonore or RPi as posted in 'Hardware SqueezeLite Player Suggestions (USB, Native DSD)' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111230-Hardware-SqueezeLite-Player-Suggestions-(USB-Native-DSD)) so I will get the NAS purchased and configured with your QLogitechMediaServer and then do some tests - if it works great, if not no problem I'll continue down the separate (SqueezeLite) USB hardware player route. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
Hi All, 1. Just wondering if anyone can advise if there are any recommended QNAP models that it's best to use for this? I currently have a TS-421 running RAID 5 as my main data store (and music collection back-up location); and am looking to get a second smaller NAS (2 drives, faster processor than TS-421?) with perhaps a sonore player (to provide async USB) and replace my existing Vortexbox Server (which does both) in my hi-fi set up. 2. Does this support DSD / DSF playback okay with the appropriate LMS plugin? Appreciate any advice/clarification? Hi, I just wanted to report a small issue I got with the 02.03.36 version. I can not longer play Radio Paradise AAC 320+128. The Flac streaming mixes runs fine. Another function that not works for me is to access DSD-files (DFS + DFF) on another nas over "Remote Music Libraries". I reverted back to 02.03.25 and everything works flawlessly again. NAS: X86 64 (Qnap TS-853 pro, TS-670 Pro and TVS-871) -network- piCoreplayers to AmaneroCombo384's and to Gustard U16's Nightly LMS 7.9.2, PiCoreplayers 3.5 and 4.1. LMS Nightly builds and the QLMS are perfect for me. Flexible and high performing. H no so out off the box not. Would suggested, install latest version. Logon to ssh shel, go to .qpkg/LogitechmediaServer directory, and run ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh restart. No look at the screen, and what its telling you. Keep in mind first always try a clean installation. And if you still got no clue, upload the 3 logs, so i can have a look. jolly wrote: > Hi, > > so far I have been using LMS on old TS219 (arm) - the 7.7.2 SSTOS -> fix > routine.sh -> update 7.9.2 way. Hi, so far I have been using LMS on old TS219 (arm) - the 7.7.2 SSTOS -> fix routine.sh -> update 7.9.2 way. The NAS has died and I have replaced it with 453Be (x86). Happy to discovered QLogitechMediaServer. Great solution! Unfortunately it doesn't work on my machine (453Be) so far. Installation finishes but with notification "something went wrong, check the /share/CHACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Log". That's all I can read drom the notification popup window. Trying to call LMS via webgui results in not reachable. My knowledge is just up to doing some SSH commands copied from instructions. Do you havy any hint/solution to my problem for getting QLMS to run? Or better give up because my knowledge is not good enough and get some Raspberry? :-( Thank You jolly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68967 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108292 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
