Apparently something new has appeared on fmb. It is either another alpha following alpha4a or is a beta. The webmaster asks for response on "frost" or on "fmb" (if it works). Where is frost (i.e., URL))? Having not yet acquired the introduction or the background and have a "x" in left right heading links and "x" in all screen dumps (?) and don't know what version of "jar" or "source" that I just downloaded, I think I'm farther back than I was when I started trying tonight to get the fmb program. Thanks to anyone. When I followed the instructions I received a message saying that I could not be unsubscribed as it would have a knock on effect, or something similar. I do not accept this. I received two replies : 1 from RL : Don't tell me about it -me too! If you do manage to find out how to do it, may I beg you the favour of passing on the details. I am tired of my mbx filling up with fatuous messages. 2 from Aaron Guy Davies [EMAIL PROTECTED] Read the message headers, moron. Don't you know what "List-Unsubscribe:"means? Oh well, this is the sort of idiocy I've come to expect from people dumb enough to use Hotmail. I have , as I said, read the message headers, and followed the instructions, but to no avail. I use Hotmail as well as several other email addresses for the simple fact that it can be accessed wherever I am worldwide. I leave the list members to draw their own conclusions as to Mr Davies. Bonjour, A propos de Freenet, si j'ai bien compris, chaque utilisateur gère un node pour accéder et participer à Freenet : Sauriez-vous me dire ce qu'un node peut générer comme upload et selon quels critères cet upload peut varier ? l'opérateur du node peut-il le contrôler ? Est-ce comparable aux autres réseaux peer-to-peer ? Concrètement je suis intéressé par le concept de freenet, mais géné sur un point : mon FAI (un opérateur d'internet par le câble) m'autorisant un upload mensuel de 1 Go. If I execute this command: $ telnet pegasus then it closes the connection as I indicated earlier. But if I execute this command: $ echo -e 'GET / HTTP/1.0\n' | nc pegasus then it works correctly. This makes me suspect that a read() from the socket which was supposed to be blocking was actually being done in non-blocking mode. Or maybe it's some other bug somewhere. I've switched to kaffe (which I had to use a bit of hackery to build; I've sent a message to the kaffe mailing list, but it's pending moderator approval), and the behavior seems to be much improved. [freenet-support] Helping with bandwith
I am totally new to Freenet. I have a FreeBSD and a Win2K machine. Just to get me started I installed Freenet on my Windows Machine. How can I start helping out the project? I have 1600/384 connection. Currently I run the freenet client 4 to 8 hours per day, but don't see anything happening in the log. Will the log show external connections? How can others take advantage of when I have the client running? I will later try to get Freenet as a service on my win2k, but in the mean time is there anything I can do so my machine can help Freenet? Also I am behind a firewall, which I control, and upon installation I noticed the FNP(?) port was 16920 so I changed my firewall to pass this port to the win2k machine. Any other port I need to open? How active is the doc list. I have some thoughts for the docs, but don't know if I should join the doc list first or if I should compile all my suggestions and then join the doc. It worked. 6) make install 7) Adjusted /usr/local/bin/java and javac symlinks to point to Kaffe: cd /usr/local/bin mv java java.old mv javac javac.old ln -s ../kaffe/bin/java java ln -s ../kaffe/bin/javac javac 8) Went to /usr/local/kaffe/jre/lib/i386 and added the symlink: cd /usr/local/kaffe/jre/lib/i386 ln -s libkaffevm-1.0.7.so libkaffevm.so.1.0 That's it.
