So I went into settings for my Google calendar and found an 'integration' section with a private URL for iCal integration. I re-did the setup in Seamonkey and chose iCal instead of CalDAV and now it seems to work. At least it has synced my events. Haven't had time to fully test everything

I have solved it by copying the Lightning version from a working profile into my old profile. This is the second time this has happened on different machines. I had removed the 2.49.4 version downloaded and installed 2.49.5 x86 from the website. Lightning was shown in add-on manager

I'm not sure what I've done, but in my profile SeaMonkey 2.49.5 x64 Windows 7 is not loading Lightning. I've deleted the previous 32bit versions and and installed SeaMonkey x64 downloaded from the official website both as Administrator and as a user and when it loads Lightning is not present

If you build without enable-calendar Lightning will not work. It needs some binary components which are now linked into SeaMonkey and Thunderbird itself with enable-calendar. Previously we had a workaround (or better big hack) in which enabled only them regardless of the build flag
