In any case backup the profile as suggested. IIRC, there was a point at which the mailbox format changed, so restoring mail in the old format to a later version expecting the new format might cause problems. Back then, we were advised to back up (always a good idea) and then install the new version over the old one, which incorporated a conversion step. Re: E MAIL CRASHES ON 2.48
Source code is now fixed and we will upgrade the base to ESR 52.4 level. Building should continue soon. I am not seeing the spinning wheel for long on a late 2012 mini mac with an imap account. Maybe its time to compact and/or rebuild the folders. The Thunderbird devs fixed another bunch of annoyances in the shared code so hopefully any account problems will go away over time. FRG Gabriel wrote: Frank-Rainer Grahl wrote on 25/09/17 18:58: 2.49.1 is currently being build but we ran into a problem with Lightning. Fix is in the works but delays the version a bit unfortunately: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/candidates/2.49.1-candidates/build1/mac/en-US/ Hi, great :-) no more crashes when opening the Mail. There are only 2 little annoying things: 1) When I open the Mail window for the first time, it takes a lot to ask for the accounts password (the spinning wheel stays for 30+ seconds); 2) sometimes it says I entered a wrong password (for all the acounts) while it didn't even contact the mail server. But these are issues already present in SM since 2.40 as far as I can remember. Anyway, SM 2.49.1 is working on El Capitan, thank you! ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
