Not true. This also affects the compose window. At least the quotes. But you are right that I have a a hard time thinking that this might affect a theme. Which theme do you have problems with? Modern was never supported or adapted on/for OSX I think and any custom theme might just need an

You got candidate 4 or the release from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.49.1/ This works perfectly well for me. Could you try in safe mode or a new test profile. Might be extension related. Could you check the error console if you see an indication what might go wrong.

The 2.49 build of SeaMonkey from the Mozilla ftp site will not put the name of the newsgroup into the compose window, and will not even mark it as a newsgroup. In fact, the whole compose window seems to be nonfunctional. Is there any way to fix that? Adrian Kalla's build worked perfectly.
