Hello,
I find Thunderbird works well with GMail either pop or imap. You can
search the web for tips on getting them to play better together.

Hi,
Are you in a browser or other HTML-based editor when using F8, since this is
the only place where it works.
Elsewhere, use the normal selection method, that is, using shift and arrows etc.

Hi Steve,
When you refer to the context key, you are, I think, referring to the
Applications key, which is often, but not always, located to the left of the
right Alt key on a 101' or 104-key desktop keyboard. Is this what you're
saying?
Thanks,
Rod

I'd like to point out that Walmart stores sells a wide range of replacement
QWERTY keyboards running from around 10 bucks on up. The more expensive
keyboards offer customability. Some have sloping keys from the G H keys oun
out to the higher keys from left to right. They clame these

It is incumbent on a piece of software to work with a given platform

they have to use the features of the software.

Hi Larry,
You might consider the Email program known as Becky. yeah, a strange
name for a program, but no worse than Eudora, which by the way, I
have been using for the last Zillion years.
I did download Becky, and it does act some what similar to Eudora,
although it has folders like
this is definitely something new because keyboards (for the most part)
have been pretty standard. Now there's several issues of which have not
even been addressed on this topic yet.
For one thing, keyboards that don't have the numlock key also usually

Good afternoon everyone,
When I try using function F8 key to select either a character or word, that
keystroke won’t work, even if I press it a few times. Also my backspace key
doesn’t work either. I have my key layout set for a laptop computer. I even
tried using the control shift
Okay, since when is outlook free? As far as I know, you have to buy office
to get outlook. And don't get caught like I did. They sold me a student
edition that didn't have outlook. But yes, windows live mail is free. Pam.

You might check out Becky email program. Costs $40, but works well with Gmail
and is easy to use.

Hi,
Thanks to all those who answered my enquiry on how to navigate the
Office 2013 ribbon.
Before purchasing the programme, I shall use the info provided and
practice on the W7 Wordpad ribbon. No doubt the menu items will be a
little different but the concepts should be similar.
Cheers
Hi Neville,
Good luck, down under, and don't get tangled in the ribbon. Big grin
All the best,
Rod

Hi,
This Classic Menu for Office plugin sounds very interesting. Once
installed, does it function on all Office 2013 programmes such as Word,
Excel and Outlook or does it need to be installed for each individual
programme?
Where can it be obtained and is there a cost?
Thanks
Neville.

Well I love the ribbon idea. My problem is I can never seem to remember
where to find stuff. I mean if the names of the options in the ribbon maid
more sense then I would love it. This is why I use classic menu. Not
because I think the ribbon is bad I just can never remember where stuff is.

Note I want to take the time here to bring up a useful tool. If you are use

check out a plug in for office called classic menu for office. You can just
press alt+q twice and get a full menu system. The only difference is
Hi,
When buying a keyboard this is something you have had to check for years.
Does it use a function key. That changes the function of the function keys
to media commands or to launch other programs. The location of the arrow
keys no there is no standard for this. Does the keyboard use

Hi: OK, so we can either set the applications key function using auto hot
key or use shift and f10 and that is ok.
Now, why not have a WE setting in the control panel to lock the num lock
setting and perhaps a hot key combo to toggle it?
Using the f10 key would then become the default WE
Hi: I did not know about checking drivers and all that jazz.
I always just purchassed a computer, plugged it and it ran.
I did have to buy 2 or 3 keyboards to get my new Dell to work with
WindowEyes - no num lock on one and no applications key on the other but
then I learned of the shift-f10 key,
Hi Loy,
It's fairly simple for me to write an app for you to do this, if you let me
know what it is you're trying to do.

Good morning everyone,
In one of those tips of the day that you receive when you boot up your computer
when window eyes loads up, it mentions something about screen rotating. My
question is, How would a blind person know if the screen has rotated? Also,
when I use the F8 key too select
Hi. The hot key, control-shift-alt- arrow key used to be the keys for changing
rate, volume and pitch on the fly. Now, it is a windows key for rotating the
screen. Screen rotation is only important to sighted folk.
The F8 key works when you copy from a website, but copying otherwise is done
Do you mean you press the right control and right alt together to make the
applications menu happen? Pam.

hmmm, that must be something incoded in to his keyboard because right
alt+right ctrl doesn't do anything here on my system. shift plus f10
has always worked though.

I never heard of driver incompatability with window eyes, either. My
brother used to tell me you had to have a certain keyboard with a certain
computer, and couldn't just go buy a replacement, but that was my brother's
ancient information, and he told me that about fifteen years ago. At the
