This is what I did and it worked. 1. Control, Alt., V, this opens the virtual view dialog 2. choose file as source 3. tab to OCR 4. click OK, an open file dialog appears 5. find your JPG file and then click open and wait a few seconds and it will convert to text. Hopes this helps -

I had an Asus netbook from 2009. It still works today. About all it's good for is email and you can no longer get any updates but I put my old copy of WE 7.5 on it and by golly, it came up talking. I couldn't get any updates for the anti virus as they were up to date as of around 2011 or so.

To close the User Account screen, press alt-y. Most likely, the other thing that popped up was something like a run dialog, which should be readable after dismissing the User Account screen. You can also shift tab to the yes button and press enter, but it sometimes hangs before you can tab.
