RE: Getting WE to speak with characters globally, and stick
Hi Reg, Here's a link to a zip file in my OneDrive containing Winamp sets and other files which should help you. However, please just don't copy them into your WE profile folder since they might mess your system if you have the Winamp Scripts app installed. Of particular value for you might be the file Winamp.key which contains the key labels you're used to having. I don't use the Winamp Scripts app myself, and so I don't really know what files the app author includes with his app. This is why I'm offering these files which might help. Keyboard verbosity in Winamp
Hi all In the latest Winamp, with W-E9.2 and Windows7-64, once upon a time, I had keyboard voice on with characters in the "jump to time" dialogue, and in the "file info" dialogue, but not in the main and playlist windows. Now, in roder to hear what I'm typing in those dialogues, I have to have "voice on with characters" on in the windows, which means that I hear "X" and "V" when playing or stopping. How do I get back to how it was please. I currently have winamp.set associated. Is this still necessary with Jeff's scripts? Re: Keyboard verbosity in Winamp
some times you can load and asociate another set file for different screens. is there more then one winamp set file from the w e settings folder? or can you create and asociate another set file to the window you are talking about? if so then you could turn off the keyboard speech. or you could use the keyboard dictionary to change what the letter keys say. like change the v to volume up etc. -Original Message- From: Reg Webb via Talk Sent: Tuesday, September 01, 2015 12:57 AM To: talk@lists.window-eyes.com Subject: Keyboard verbosity in Winamp Hi all In the latest Winamp, with W-E9.2 and Windows7-64, once upon a time, I had keyboard voice on with characters in the "jump to time" dialogue, and in the "file info" dialogue, but not in the main and playlist windows. RE: Getting WE to speak with characters globally, and stick
Set the keyboard voice to on with characters. Make sure if you have advance options enabled ( you'll have 13items in the tree) that your scope button is set to global and not program when bringing up the Window-eyes control panel. For example, Press control-backslash. Press K until you get to keyboard. Right arrow to open it. Down arrow to voice. Tab once, if you hear voice program scope button, press space until it says global. Tab again and set it to on with characters and save your settings. For those programs where your voice isn't speaking characters, you may need to open them and make sure the scope button is set to global and not program. Save your settings. RE: Excel 2013, Completing cell editing with arrow keys behaves differently than using Enter or Tab key
Rick, I'm replicating your issue, but in Excel 2010. I followed your steps and put info in sells a1, b1, c1, a2, b2, and c2. If I just start typing in the cell, whether an empty sell or one that has text in it and I'm completely overriting the text, the right and down arrow keys move me to the next cell. However, if I use F2 to edit the cell, the right and down arrow keys do not work to move you to the next cell. I turned off Window Eyes and confirmed that Excel works the same way with WE turned off. If you use F2 to edit a cell, you can think of it as Excel taking you into a special edit mode where you can arrow around all information in that cell using Home, End, arrows and so on. This is really important when you have lots of information in a given cell and or a really long formula for which you need to arrow to the parts you want to edit. If you are, in fact, hitting F2 to edit your cells, then just hit F2 again once you are done editing and the arrow keys will again move you to the next cell. I understand, Manny, that you have some difficulty with headers. However, my problem is more fundamental. Currently, I still have the default verbosity configuration. In Excel 2013, create a new spreadsheet. In cells A1 to A3 put the values x, y and z respectively. In cells B1 to B3 put the values 1, 2 andd 3 respectively. Now go back to cell A1. Change the value to something else, like ABC. Instead of using the Tab or Enter key to finish the editing, use the right arrow key, which should complete the editing and move you to Cell B1. Only a beep sound is heard, instead of the cell reference and its value. Same if I press the down arrow key, trying to move to cell A2. If I just arrow around without editing a cell, everything works just fine. Each cell's reference is spoken along with its value.
