I am having the same or similar problem with Windows XP, Window Eyes 8.4 and

I sometimes have to run cmd and ipconfig commands to get the IP address so
that tech support at work can remote in.
The problem is that I cannot seem to get that screen to go away. Escape,
alt+F4, and typeing exit does not work.
What's the secret???

With OE, under the File menu, there was an option to compress folders.

My sighted friend was here yesterday. He told me that my screen had rotated. I
tried using control + alt + up arrow and the screen did not correct rotation.

As I recall, in the BECKY! address book, there is a "nickname" that can be
assigned for a contact. It is the nickname balue that is used by BECKY! to
auto-complete the addressee(s).

When I first downloaded the MS compatibility, I was able to read a .doc file.
But, the next time that I tried, I got the message that the compatibility files
were missing, or, some message like that.
