Re: Window-Eyes Update 9.5.4
I didn't realize that the original poster's problem was with UAC. Usually that comes on in the beginning. He seemed to say he installed it and everything except that in the end, there was something that a sighted person had to click. That didn't sound like UAC. I did get prompted by UAC, and I told it yes, and it continued, and everything went fine. RE: Window-Eyes Update 9.5.4
We all need to reunite as a community. The blind need to focus on reuniting, not being so fragmented. The blind community needs to be strong at advocating for ourselves on what we want and would like in the future and so on and so forth. The best way to deal with a situation is to sit down and educate, and do some lobbying/education. I don't think enough of us are doing that and a lot of us are either staying quiet, or just complaining. -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+skyt=shaw...@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Tony C via Talk Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 11:14 PM To: Dennis Long; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Window-Eyes Update 9.5.4 As much bitching as there has been about the Window eyes stuff. Normally in the past a update would include a long list of improvements and bug fixes. So this update was to keep it working, which is a good thing, but shows no effort taking place as in the past to keep improving on WE. There is a minor problem. After the download completes, you are asked to allow Windows to install this program. You need to activate the Yes button, but Window-Eyes does not speak the option, as it did in the past; sighted help is necessary. The same here, everything ran smoothe as ice. I did have to grant access through my firewall but that was the only thing that I actually had to do.So far so good! Suspect this might have something to do with how individual machines are set up. Just my guess. Good Luck & Have A Great Day! de .
