ok
so perhaps i can put a temporary freeze on the entire spreadsheed
document and do a full overhall cleanup.
i'll make it that people will be able to add in more rows, by merging
multiple rows where it's not needed.

I'll have to upload my scripts for pulling and process Planet files
later (after Tues). I'm packing for camping, working, and poking at
the psql to see if I can pull a map of who's imported objects into
grids, and when the last update was. (only for ontario, but I have the

Hi all,
Why don't we register only "Work in progress" in the wiki?
- What have been done is obvious on the map!
- What have to be done is also obvious on the map!
If you wish to import Canvec to a "white space" in OSM,
just look at the wiki...
- If it is listed as "Work in progress", choose an o

That would definitely be the best solution. MUCH more visual.

hummm,
yup, let me check..hummm
yes, it's osm ... so its hard to keep everyone on the same system, as
there is always more than 1 right answer.
i'll aim for fixing up the main chart so it looks the same as the one
you started. -hiding the other columns
for sunday.
also, using the mapnik plugin
thanks john,
ya, it needs to stay in the same document, but can be shortened for
the number of rows. currently, there is 1 row for eachnts tile, and
that isnt needed, when someone ca do all 256 tiles of the area all on
their own (for the open north country)
so 1 row per ### area should be fine
yes, i heard it way over on the west coast.
ok, here's the storey.
1 - we need to shorten the length (number of rows) on the main big
google docs spreadsheet.
so that all of the distant, easy stuff is marked as a series. ie.
034-9 area - available
then i can just remove that whole section of ro
Found it in JOSM, you have to select the nodes then split way is
available at the top of the tools menu.
Thanks all

Says where the spreadsheet is. However I got an error when I tried to
add another line in on the bottom, it has got too large.
So it needs breaking up.

I'm feeling thick today. How do I break it into ways?
This isn't my top priority at the moment I'm busy putting names on
unnamed streets.
Thanks John

Did anyone hear that loud bang last night...? That was my head
repeatedly hitting the table while I repeated the words "look before you
leap!" :-)
I spent 1 hour updating and processing a CanVec tile. When I was
finished I ran the verification step and fixed duplicates. Then when I

OdbL is needed for OpenStreetMap because, sinple put, not all
datatsets that are out their are made available in the public domain.
if all datasets were already made available i the public domain, there
there would be no need to try to 'protect' the data.
this 'protection of data' is a safeguard
With both halfes of the building polygons loaded into osm, break apart
both polygons into ways, and remove both of the ways that are in the
middle of the polygon,
then merge the ways back into a closed polygon, it might require
reversing the direction of one of the ways.
this retains the geogetry
Well I now know a little more about JOSM and Validator but I still
haven't quite worked out how to merge the two parts of the building.
Thanks John
