Hi all,
Apologies if this has been raised before, but I was wondering about GPS
track data and licenses.
How about we do pre-processing on the OSM file to add place=hamlet nodes to
every named landuse=residential? I don't like the idea of adding a
place=hamlet to all landuse=residential in the OSM database since we don't
distinguish landuse=residential as a gated community (e.g. Ayala Alabang
Hmmm... is it possible to place everything else without an explicit Garmin
hex code to a catch-all generic POI category? That would make everything
that has a name searchable in the Garmin map.

http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/39724055
He said that the church wasn't showing up in the Garmin map and that's why
he added that node.
Anybody else having problems

From how I understand it, NearMap's editor is so simple (can't do complex
edits) and is often used for one-off edits that I think how NearMap does it
is pretty spot on in trying to get the most number of contributions. What I
guess NearMap should do more is to explain about OSM more clearly if a

No one seems to have mentioned that any OSM API update could potentially
break thousands of applications yet we still update it if needed. For
example, the change to API 0.5 broke every tool, renderer or app that still
assumed segments exist. (Then again, for this example, it was easier to
