Re[2]: View All Messages Problem

2005-09-21 Thread Vili
Hello Kevin,

After some testing, I think its a bug. Using 3.61.04 my switching
between View|Display|Unread and All works normally. When I use 3.61.05
 the display breaks.

Yes, it is a bug, confirmed. Not even Esc or Ctrl+= can bring back all
the messages.

Write a BT, I support it.

two are red but why I don't know from your explanation - sorry.

9 [+] Tabs : ability to enable/disable/close from popup

Maybe but you can't change the Tab properties now in some respects. All
that happens is that a new Tab is created. For instance I want my Unread
Tab to apply to half a dozen folders but it seems that, now, you can
only choose one folder. Try and add any other and you just get another
Unread Tab added. Anyway my unread Tab is incorrect. At the present
moment there are two unread messages showing in the relevant folder but
only one in the Tab. It doesn't matter what I do, it doesn't show it
correctly.

Hello 9Val,

The Bat! 3.61.06 Echo (Beta) is now available from:
 http://www.ritlabs.com/en/tbbeta/
Here is a short list of changes:
[-] Tabs : wrong filtering after switching folder when selected
 Viewmode-based tab

You misunderstood me or I made a mistake:
so, the selected Tab should stay when you change folders.

This is how it worked in v3.61.05:
Changed the folder, the Tab changed from some filtered view (for
example unread mails) back to the All, BUT only the filtered, for
example unread mails were shown. Inconsistency.

This is how it works in v3.61.06:
Change the folder, the Tab changed from some filtered view (for
example unread mails) back to the All, and all mail can be seen.
Consistent, but illogical.

This is how it should work in v3.61.07:
Change the folder, the Tab SHOULD NOT change from the filtered view (for
example unread mails) back to the All, and only the filtered, for
example unread mails should be shown. Consistent and logical.

Opinions?

PS: When I first started TB, every message list tab showed up twice...
I had to delete them and make them again. But I think it is normal
with a beta, now this part (creation) works ok so far.

V You do NOT have to create many Unread tab. Just make ONE.
and that applies to the folder in question - I thought that the Unread
Tab would apply to all folders but that's what my unread tab in the
 Folder pane is for!

Exactly :))

V It works ok for me... Could you send a screenshot?
'fraid not because, as I've just told MAU, it's now working and must

 showing properly.

Good :))

2005-09-21 Thread Vili
Hello Peter,

9 [+] Tabs : coloring (red - changes message source, green - filters
9 current messages)
can you enlighten me? What does this (changes message source) mean?

The green ones filter the actual folder. The red ones change the
folder (message source was a not very well selected term to explain
that when you select a red tab, then the _messages_ will change,
because you change the folder by selecting a red tab)

Besides that, with this beta I found my previously defined tabs
duplicated. No big deal, though. I simply removed and redefined
 them.

We experienced the same :)

Aehmm? Another confirmation that I want to re-filter? Excuse me, but i
can't agree with your point of view. Because if I press enter, this is
my confirmation that it is ok to re-filter. You have to be more
carefully and TB! in fact is not a webpage form.

This is a dialog box where i know which things are on it and can check
it in a split of a second that it is OK. And the default settings for
the re-filter box are mostly ok for me, so it is simply annoying to
get through all things...

Ok, this would not be a problem if I had an shortcut for my lovely

BTW: It is common to declare a default button on dialogs.. for example
what about the options dialog..? or nearly every other dialog in
 GUIs?

I think it is a faulty handling of messages from the TSpTBXCheckBox
class... because it is not restricted to the re-filter dialog. Every
check box is affected.

And it's interesting handling of the Keys...

- Focus one CheckBox
- Press SPACE
  - Checkbox will not immediately check
- Release SPACE
  - CB will wait for release-key

- Press RETURN
  - CB will check immediatly
  - Key repeating will take effect

Hello Richard,

What's the point of having an All Tab then if it doesn't show
 exactly that?

The function of the All tab is to see all messages _again_ after you
chose a filtered view.

I see it, but my finding it's removal a potential problem for me, I'll
survive and am happy for those who will find the feature working better
for it. :)

It's all a give and take. MicroEd being an example. There's so much love
and hate that it generates.

So not to worry. My liking the 'buggy' behaviour was just my opinion of
it and personal preference. I think we had conceded this in the end as
well. :)

SC The question is what should happen when you select the
SC Unread tab for folder A and then switch to folder B without changing
SC tabs. The current behavior is that you will see All messages in folder
SC B instead of the desired behavior that you would see only the Unread
SC messages in folder B.

Aah at last the penny drops. In that case I agree with Vili's

Message list positioning after filtering

2005-09-21 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello tbbeta,

Now that more of you are using the Unread tab or Parked etc. tabs,
maybe you would be willing to support the following bug report found
at: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5134 .

The following is the long and short of it.

The positioning of the message list when running a filter, for example
clicking on View/Display/Only Unread Messages or clicking on the new
Unread tab in the message list, causes a confusing view of the
filtered messages. If there are 10 Unread messages instead of seeing
the first message at the top, you see only the last Unread message and
have to scroll up to see the other messages.

Steps to reproduce:
Select a folder with Unread messages.
Select the unread tab.
The message list now only displays the last unread message.

Scheduler - New task

2005-09-21 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hello TBBETA,

I wanted to try something in the scheduler, using it for the first
time ever. It opens fine, I go to Repeating and want to create new...
How? Right-clicking on it does nothing. I also cannot find a menu entry
in the scheduler for create new (maybe that's because there is no menu).

Question: How do I create a new task in the scheduler?

I believe it's a beta-bug, because the scheduler in the office
(3.0.1.33) has a right-click menu which includes Create New.

Question: How do I create a new task in the scheduler?

Thomas, I've never used the Scheduler to put in a Repeating Task.

But I need something to keep my mind off Hurricane Rita, so I went to
have a look:

I did a left click on top of words Repeating Tasks. A box came into
view on the right with some headings, but it would not accept any
typing. So I tried a right click in the empty space.

I got a menu with a choice of New or Close.

I clicked on New.

To my surprise a dialogue box appeared, headed Edit Event. And a
cursor was in the Description box within this Dialogue box.

Could you take it from there?
