orphan processes after closing TB!

2013-04-07 Thread Dwight Corrin
In mid:1222411297.20130319140...@fastmail.fm

I reported that after exiting TB! to copy extracted file, had to kill
thebat process before could copy. this is not the first time I've had
to do this.

A reply suggested I was just too impatient and that it sometimes it
took a long time for TB to close. Today, I started the download of
5.3.8.6, closed TB, went off and made a sandwich, ate a sandwich, then
eventually came back to the computer to extract the file, and copy the
file to the TB folder. I was unable to copy, and the task
manager showed not one orphan TB process, but three.

invalid credentials

I have an old, near death, laptop, which has theBat installled.
have a gmail account which is shared with a committee co-chair. He
changed the password a couple of months ago. Evidently today was
the first time that I fired up TB! since then. Looking at an unread
mail, I tried to open it. I got no feedback, just no action.

In the log it says

 !1/31/2013, 21:38:06: IMAP - Invalid credentials (Failure)

as soon as I fixed the password, connection went smoothly.

Back when this password was changed, I had a box pop up offering me an
opportunity to provide a valid password. (gmail for android, k-9, the
native iOS app on my iPad, thunderbird). Shouldn't theBat! do the
same?

When I pasted

I have, or course, no way of knowing whether this problem will repeat in this message, but only the word portions,

Title: November Digital Competition

November competition is digital. Categories are
Open Mono (MNO)
People (PEO)
Photojournalism (PJ)

The galleries are here:
http://wichitaareacameraclub.smugmug.com/2012-13Competitions/November-2012

An illustrated guide to entering is here:
http://wichitaareacameraclub.smugmug.com/2012-13Competitions/How-Tos/22884683_CkPcQ3

Entrydeadlineis midnight Sunday night, November 4, 2012.

Things to remember about uploading photos:

Remember the login email is: waccpho...@gmail.com
Remember your password is: waccloader

Remember to enter and save the title below each photo. Make sure the title isIDENTICALto
the title you give the photo in the four part entry info you send for that photo. Also, please
do not use all caps, but capitalize the first letter of at least the first word of your title.
This is the title
orThis Is the Title
are each acceptable, but all caps, or no caps in the first word of the title is not. This is due to
the silly algorithm used by smugmug which results in a capital 'Z' appearing ahead of a
lower case 'a' when it alphabetizes.

Entry list format is photo number, your N4C member number, category code, title.
Separate these four items by commas, and no spaces after the commas.

01,WA066,OC,Fireworks
02,WA066,OC,Sunset on the Moors
01,WA066,NTR,Pride leader
01,WA066,PT,City skyline at night

The category codes are listed near the top of this message, and also in the gallery
titles.

Send your list of entries, before the deadline, towaccpho...@gmail.com

Use the subjectEntry Liston your email.

Please upload the same number of pictures as you send entries so we
know we arent missing someones entry information.

Use the subjectEntry Liston your email.

One person managed to use the correct subject in October. If you use
the subjectEntry Liston your emailI can sort on that subject and
your entries. If you use some other topic, they end up scattered all through
the mailbox. If I'm having a good day I will have to look at every email received
between this one and the last one dated before the cutoff. Some month I may
just compare the photos and the entries and change all the titles of photos which
did not match up with entries in any email usingthe subjectEntry List
and re-title them all DISQUALIFIED, NO EMAIL ENTRY FOUND.

If you have problems or questions, email me, or call me at 207-6581. If you end up
with photos uploaded that you want removed, change the title to 'Delete Me'
or similar.

Use the subjectEntry Liston your email.

Good Luck.

Dwight

I figured I'd keep testing with the new IE browser, but having all the
