Hello Feli,

Saturday, January 23, 2010, 13:24:18, you wrote:

So I cannot confirm your observation for XP SP3.
Perhaps it is W7 related?

Windows Vista and later makes file virtualization for Program Files, that's
why we've changed the default location where The Bat! keeps mail. In earlier
versions of The Bat!, it kept the MAIL directory in Program Files\The Bat!,
but now it keeps it in the %APPDATA% folder by default. It's better to avoid
using virtulization (by not keeping the data in the Program Files)

There are some articles where the users are experiencing difficulties with the
virtualization:

http://www.west-wind.com/Weblog/posts/5584.aspx
http://www.cloudsofheaven.org/2008/01/vista_file_virtualization.html

And here is a common case described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927387 :
Scenario 2: You cannot find the file or the folder that you just created
When you use an application for which virtualization is enabled, you create
data files in virtualizable locations of the file system. When you use another
application or Windows Explorer to access these newly created files, you cannot
find them. For example, if you save a file in a photo editing application in
the %programfiles%, %systemroot%, %systemdrive%, or %programdata% folders, you
cannot locate this file.

Problem is that all plugins are working in a single space with The Bat!

If a plugin harms something, the consequences may come later.

A solution would be to isolate each plugin in a separate process and use
interprocess communication like named pipes to exchange the data.

80% of my incomming mails are filtered to common folders outside of

So I cannot confirm your observation for XP SP3.
Perhaps it is W7 related?

2010-01-22 Thread Maxim Masiutin
Hello Tbbeta,

What's new since the last alpha:

[-] It was not possible to move folders in/out
[-] (#0007859) After renaming an account, folder structure is not saved

What's new since 4.2.18:

[*] Improved speed of handling folder names. This may be noticeable on very
large folder trees
[*] Changed DEP detection algorithm for the operating systems prior to Windows
Vista (e.g. in Windows XP with SP3 and Windows Server 2003)
[+] Do nothing option for the Watch files scheduler's action to control
execution of other actions
[-] Clicking the How to register menu item have caused the file not found
error message
[-] (#0007845) Error Message when exiting save as in Graphic Viewer
[-] (#0007852) An error after dropping a dragged attachment to a Windows desktop
[-] The Certificate Selection window and Certificate Search Results windows did
save the coordinates to a wrong location in Registry
[-] (#0007844) Font family not set in HTML mail
[*] If there were an invalid birthday date stored in the address book, The Bat!
did only report error invalid argument to date encode, without further
clarification for the user what might have caused the error. Now more detailed
information is given.

Able to move folders in / out again.

I don't know about the account, but folder name has not been saving
when you create a new folder

Example Inbox
   - TBAT Beta
-- Create New folder under TBAT Beta called TBOT

Saves as New Folder. The actual renaming of the new folder to TBOT
does Occur and when you go back and click on the new TBOT folder the
name will remain.
