It shows after sometime in the browser. This is big delay. Needs to have 
immediate sync of new event as windows calendar do for example. Even if you 
can't do this now, give us sync button.

And I wait from you a news why I don't see events from one/few of my calendars 
now

I can do new event in gmail calendar (on site) on calenadar that shows to me 
and it shows then in TB. But when I do event in TB in this calendar it not 
shows in gmail calendar in the browser. 

I do fear to lose some events with raw TB gmail sync where am I stop access to 
my gmail calendar now? Will wait another build of TB.

That's right. I should have remembered.

Thanks, Thomas.  This was the second time I asked what for me was an
interesting question and received no reply here. And, yes, everything is
sorted out now that I discovered and corrected the somewhat simple but
unexpected source of the problem. I anticipate that TB will now continue to
work with Gmail for me even after May 30. But the other problem remains...
has never been sorted out. This has to do with the list of accounts (I have
many) that comes up when right-clicking a file and using Send to: The Bat!.
I would really like to be able to re-order that list, because the accounts
I generally use for that purpose are now located toward the end of the list
rather than the top of it. But perhaps I am alone in having this problem or
wish.

We care. At least, I do. However, I could not replicate your problem, I have mo

Gmail SMTP

I know everyone has probably heard this many times and figured it all out.
But I'm not finding the solution, and I am stumped for days.

Until now I've used Gmail with "less secure apps", and that worked fine for
me. Now, under the gun so to speak, I have disabled "less secure apps" and
set up OAUTH authentication. And this works fine for me when checking my
mail (POP3). But, try what I may, I cannot send mail via SMTP. My current
settings are:

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
Connection: Secure to Dedicated port (TLS) (have also tried Regular and
StartTLS)
Port: 465
Authentication: Tried them all, but none seem to work

I keep getting error messages like: WantAuthError or warnings about "no
compatible authentication mechanisms detected".

Sorry to trouble you all... I know the focus is on TB10... but I could
really use some help here. What am I doing wrong or not doing right?

OK,  I  got  OAUTH  authentication  working. But, what the heck, it is
quite  similar  to  using an app-specific password. The basic apparent
difference is that the authorisation code (which I had to get using my
browser)is  much  longer  than app-specific password. In both cases it
takes  login  into  Google  account  and  getting  a  code or password
specific for The Bat!.

Sure. The Bat! supports Google OAUTH authentication for about 5 years now and 
it is the recommended way to access Gmail. However, some users continue use of 
traditional authentication, so Google is tickling them by forcing them to use 
app-specific passwords, allowing access of "unsafe" applications etc.

SOT: Need application-specific password for Gmail

Hello all,

I  had been warned by Google that starting today, Dec. 9th, the 2-Step
Verification would be activated to login to my Google account.

When I started TB and tried to collect email, the response was:
!09/12/2021, 18:46:29: FETCH - Server reports error. The response is: -ERR 
[AUTH] Application-specific password required: 
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833

Fortunately, the link to the support page explained how to generate an
specific password, and I did so. I copied it and pasted it in my Gmail
account  Properties  and  I  could  connect  and retrieve mail with no
problem.

i tried to add a new GMail account.
I entered Name, GMail address and hit Finish
The Bat!s Google auth popup appears
I entered GMail address
Scrolled down and confirm with Continue
The Google Auth popup appeared, I entered Google login name, but was 
rejected as Google told me the browser is not safe. 

Seems CEF browser is now too old?

Because The Bat! supports Google OAUTH authentication, you don't need app 
passwords - just set the authentication type to OAUTH in the account settings. 
It doesn't matter whether you use POP or IMAP

9.4.4 Login in GMail account with a app password fails

Hello Stefan,

i use GMail with Two Factor Auth.
I generated a extra App Password for The Bat! in my Google account.

I added GMail as POP3 account and used the new generated app password.

But when i try to fetch mail from the POP3 account, The Bat!'s Google 
authentication pop-up appears.

How can i use my GMail with POP3 in The Bat!?
HAs something changed again with Google Auth and The Bat!?

TB 8.5.8.2 - same problem with Gmail IMAP accounts (serious!)

I am a Voyager user, but I installed a TB version also, to test if it has the
same problem with Gmail IMAP accounts (see my previous replies to all new
Voyager versions announcements here). 

And it does! I tried with TB 8.5.8, then with 8.5.8.2. With my Gmail IMAP
accounts it's impossible not only to login, but even to shut down TB properly,
I have to kill the entire TB process. 

I couldn't find an installer for TB 8.2.4.3. Can anyone point me to that
installer? I would like to test it, and I bet that version works (it does, as
far as Voyager is concerned). Something must have been broken after that and
it is still.

I  can  confirm the above information.  I had to swtich to OAUTH.  It works well
when I am on the road.  Give it a try.  The set up only has to be done once.

Please check your antivirus software or The Bat! spamfilter plugin

Happens here, too. Once a day or after a restart of TB I could
understand but it happens quite frequently.

Currently not sure if TB already uses an app-specific password; if so,
there must be something wrong with the implementation.

there was indeed a problem with IMAP-Connection to Google. It was fixed in 
Version 8.2.0.3. 
I know it might sound silly, but do you have the latest version? 
Latest is 8.2.4.2. After upgrading I would revoke The Bat's access 
permission to Google and let it reestablish afterwards.

I decided finally to stop using pop3 to get mail and use imap instead.

Problem is when trying to download mail a google authorization page is
opened and notifies my that I need to authorize The Bat v7 (yes, it says
v7). No matter how many times I press allow it does nothing and finally

Cannot reproduce that.
I deleted some mails, opened my gmail account in my browser and they
were missing there too.

In case of problems with an imap account:
Close TB
Open your mail directory with the explorrer, locate the directory
matching with your imap account, in that directory you'll find a
directory called imap.
Your imap cache is located in that directory, delete all files in that
directory.
Most problems with regard to that imap account will be solved after
clearing the cache.

No - and it is only the ALL MAIL folder. SPAM and TRASH delete and compress 
correctly. I have removed the cache files etc and the folder is not cleaned out 
on the website

Hello TBBETA,

About 3 hours ago I stopped receiving mail from my main IMAP TheBat.net
GMail account. The error from TB is:  Account exceeded command or bandwidth 
limits. (Failure)

I was running 5.3.2.12 beta, so I backed down to, in order, 5.3.2.11,
5.3.2.10, then to 5.2.2.0, but there is no difference, the same login
failure occurs. I can log into the main
account with a browser, and mail is still coming in. Also, I have 2
other thebat.net IMAP accounts, which are still working fine from any
version of TB that I've loaded.

Below are 2 sets of logs. The top set are from the account that has
failed, the lower set, separated by a string of equal marks
(==), shows one of the other thebat.net accounts I
have that is still working fine. Also, my main POP3 account is fine.
Can anyone help me? The account that has failed is my main business
account, so this is a major problem right now.

There was no trash but I did delete some of the Sent mails. GMail
shows I'm using 1.8GB of 10GB space. Whatever,
now I _can_ get into the account using TB, but:

Mails now appear in the IMAP inbox, but they take 20-30 seconds to
view, and filtering seems to be broken.

The IMAP maintenance box doesn't show any subscribed folders in the
main account, but the other @thebat.net accounts show structure.

I'm fairly discouraged with today's events, but my hat's off to you, Rick, for 
helping me.
I'm glad that helped. I am in a LOT of Yahoo groups and run it through a gmail 
account. If the account gets full it will just stop sending and receiving mail 
- no warnings, no errors. The bright side is that the mail piles up and if you 
get out there and tidy up, the mail will start flowing and you PROBABLY didn't 
lose anything

I never had more than 2GB of the 10GB limit in the account, so I'm not
sure what happened. I still have a lot of other issues with TB and
this main IMAP account, but I'll just slog on, or maybe give up IMAP
for a while and convert the Gmail back to POP3. Right now, I'm going
to roll back TB to last night's state, from backups, see where that
leads. This TB activity is eating up all my time, that's for sure.

You must use Google Apps.

(just  sign  in, and use the free services (only 10 email addresses,
and  only  7  GB  mailbox  size).  You  must  have access to you DNS
records.
I  found  very  easily  many  tutorials  in french, I recommend you to
search  for  use  gmail  with  my  domain in spanish. (sorry for the
Google it answer !)

(And welcome the push mail if you have an Android phone).

OK, I did as you suggested and it kinda worked. I did get my own reply 
from the list... three times!!

But there are some 'peculiarities' about these 3 copies I got:
1.- In 2 of them the text lines were double spaced and in the other 
triple spaced.  ??
2.- None of them threaded properly, because the In-Reply-To: and 
References: headers had been stripped off.  ??
3.- The Message-ID: was changed from 1007994837.20120420100...@gmail.com
to 20120420040659.ga18...@spamcheetah.savitardevices.com for the first 
one and different MID, but also '@SpamCheetah.savitardevices.com', for 
the other two. I wonder what's going on here.

I looked at the TBUDL archives and found one solution that may work: 
sending mail via my ISP's smtp server and not the gmail's one. This is 
what I am doing right now with this reply. Let's see if it works now.

It certainly does work. I did get my own message from the list and with 
all proper headers. I can now delete my Outgoing filters for this and 
other lists.

M my previous email address m...@rancho-k.com to my current one in Gmail.
 I  did  the  same and I remember I did have to do something to make it
 work  right. But I don't remember what that was. But if you check this
 group's archive . . . it should be there.

I did search the archives  and found a solution that works, using my 
ISO's smtp server. I don't know if that is what you did, but it 
certainly work.
