It's a bit offtopic, but you can use one of these:

http://www.ubit.ch/software/ubitmenu-languages/  (free por personal use)

https://www.officeclassicmenu.com/en/download.php  (has a trial version)

With both the ribbon it's there, but you have the old menus available.

Can the ribbon be repositioned so it goes across the full screen, right under

I don't have Facebook, so I can't comment there - can you show how TB9
looks if you enable "High Contrast - Black" theme in Windows
(preferably, it should turn off it's own skins, and adjust itself to
use the Windows' colours)? I've seen those same skins used in RoyalTS
v3, and they did not look good with my high contrast theme at all.

I do agree with Peter Herklotz 100%.

Ribbons are made to chain the user for too long time so that he does not get
his work done, by wasting time to search thru ribbons.

When the new Ultraedit introduced ribbons, they gave at least the choice to
switch back to the regular interface for speed users as me. So switching back
to the regular interface was the first thing I did.

OTOH, Windows Office 2010, which I can unfortunately not replace because of
the VBA programming support, does waste my time with these horrible ribbons. I
found no way yet to switch to a useable interface.

Trying to force a waste of my time is one more reason not to upgrade to
TheBat 9 (the other being not supporting proper quoting in HTML mails).

BTW, I could not see much of those screenshots — they are miniature and I
could not enlarge them because they are on Facebook and I am not subject to Mr.

We will not keep the internal implementation any of PGP longer. We will only
keep the GnuPG integration. The Internal Implementation was based on RFC-1991,
which use MD5, IDEA and RSA algorithms. Although IDEA (International Data
Encryption Algorithm) and RSA are still considered secure, MD5 is not. That's
why we have decided to drop internal RFC-1991 implementation in favour of GnuPG.

I think that in 2019 blocking subset of FB domains sounds like a
reasonable idea... After spending some minutes solving Google captchas
in Tor Browser, I don't have any particular feelings about the new
interface.

Hope that text under icons can be hidden and duplicated toolbars are
bug, not a deliberate design choice (screenshot attached).

My main concern is this:

For myself, functional PGP/GPG is absolutely crucial. If multitude of
present GPG-related bugs are not eventually fixed in v9, I would need
to either switch back to Claws or move to Thunderbird/Enigmail combo.
Both are free applications by the way.

This would be unfortunate as I have recently purchased TheBat! license
and would like to continue using it.

With regards,
A

I like the proposed changes.

Looking forward to testing them.

Thanks.

Ribbons are the bane of UI. Don't do it or at least make them switchable to a
classical UI.
Even with time to adapt to ribbons they ALWAYS are slower in achieving any
given task. I see that with my customers every day - and with myself as well.

Peter
