Moving attachments/files problems

I keep TB (v2) running on a desktop and notebook. Basically I retrieve messages on both computers, leaving mail on server for a day or so. Periodically I copy over the files from the desktop to the notebook to make certain they are basically similar. All works fine except for one problem. I use
