I manually mark all mine read and the read filter works, it's just if

Hello Stuart,
I've just tried with another - in use - shortcut and it allowed me to
do that.
I think that this is a bug. I've posted something in TBBETA asking if
someone else could try using SPACE as a new shortcut.
Yes, I've seen your message in TBBETA. Let's see.

Thank you both for identifying why my read filters don't work as I thought
they should. I also had one of the autoread options set, and have been
frustrated that filters don't work when I manually marking a message read.
Now I know why! :)

OK, Alt+F12 opens the Shortcut Editor. And that is what I used t assign

Am I missing something ??

How do you set up the marking of your messages as read. Do you do it

Yes, only manually. And yes, disabled.
Also, see if your read filtering works on messages that you manually

When I disable auto-read flagging completely (i.e., disabling the two

Yes sir, you are right.
I'll discuss this one on TBBETA.
Great! Some people may be missing the good things about Read filters
because of this.

Nope. Never had a reason to. I've had reason to prevent messages from
being auto-flagged as read when being viewed in the preview window but
not in a separate window.

I'm toying with the idea of making my PowerPro shortcut not only do a

I though about something like that but decided on Space and Enter. That

You are right

No, Space marks as read and Enter moves to next unread.

Hello TBUDL,
I haven't been using Read Filters, so I know little regarding the
way they work. I intend to delete the messages sent by those who
insist on using html on other lists, doing so by filtering on their
email address as sender.
The problem is that all messages for lists go
from "new" to "read".
Some people don't use Incoming filters, so that all new messages
arrive in the Inbox. When they read them, the message will be sorted
into the appropriate folders. That's the idea.
DH I could do this manually, but want to know more about how TB!
