John, Not to divert the discussion from dangerous areas in Snowy River if it flooded. But, I find the comment that the flagging tape was coated in calcite after only a short period of flooding to be interesting. That would indicate that the source of the calcite is significant for two reasons.

Hi all, This morning I had a short meeting with Jim Gumm the new Head Ranger for the Guadalupe District of the LNF. Jim is a nice guy and is very interested in our caves and the cave program in the LNF. While not a caver he has spent time underground in tunnels in the Phillipines doing
