G's articulated write up made me reply. Leave Narayanasamy a useless
urchin though aged having no stuff except the words of abuseses. G did
write that AFTER THE GAYA SRARDHAM AS PITHRUS GO TO SWARGAM OR MOKSHAM
FURTHER SRARDHAMS ARE NOT REQUIRED; DID HE OR NOT?; I CAN REPRODUCE HIS
WRITE UP; ALSO ALREADY i DID ONCE; again what kind of enmity I can have
with G whose face is unknown to me?. As elders if age is an experience,
shall pass their equitable knowledge to the posterity with ease and
sustaining the truth. Srardham is not sending the ancestors to swarga or
Moksham; there is no swargam or narakam etc; upanishads do speak of south
and north travel after death.
More than all these, it is remembering our ancestor as a mode of
worship; and whether one does it or not, Rituals are performed or not,
samskaras are carried out or not Mukthi is a different concept. Hence only
B G ( I had written it long ago) said those who worship small Gods or
deni-gods reach results of those and come back; those who worship the
pitrus are reborn in good stead; those who worship buta pisachas get that
kinds of births only; those who surrender to me in whole unison with my
thinking alone reach me which is one ina million; even the best yogis are
reborn after some good fruits at certain spots; so doing srardham is to
make yourself good as well as keeping up the society with the welfare;
Doing Pujas and uttering mantras are for the concentration and mind
control; reciting Vedas and attaining the knowledge is to elevate the mind
and search FOR THYSELF; answering WHO AM I?; hence only swadharma follow up
is advocated; a christian if his travel path is righteous he goes only in
the path of BG without doing any srardham or Puja ; but he has his style of
srardham day, and he has his own puja style; a muslim if he is righteous
has his own srardham and puja swa dharma; as a parsi why even as an atheist.
In short, be good. Mazhithalum Neettalum vendavvam yakkaikku ulagam
pazhithadhu ozhithuvidin; meaning that stand by the right behaviours which
the vedic truth advocates and you need not shave your head or grow beard
for samskaras; righteousness does not reach one over night; one has to gain
the knowledge as one learns Engineering to be in BSNL or law in Income
Tax or Military strategy in the Army; so when one grows to 76 or 95 or just
6 what is he qualitatively is the growth; our literatures in entirety
contains all the models of teaching and stories than any west in the web
site has ; and the druva was older than his father more aged means it is
not the age in calender makes one a man but the quality; if one does not
care but always rebuts without the understanding and has sidelined oneself
with the KOOD-NATPU(unwanted friendship) loss is not anyone else but to
SELF. Nandrum theethum pirar thara vaara. Also Vedam is universal; dictum
does not distinguish between iyer kerala iyer ,Punjab iyer or iyengar
vadakalai thenkalai etc etc . How can Rama be for Iyer and iyengar
separate?; how the air and other byutas can differentiate between iyer
kerala and iyengar?.
People living in the geo centered places was provided by the nature
itself to live, to raise by a profession, to feed by the food of that area
and to use flowers flora and fauna of that area which were codified as
dharna sutras or living rules which were if wrongly adopted by other geo
centered people confirming only that is correct-who is the fool?. Dharma is
one truth is one God is one but the learned adopted it only as such but the
day to day living was altered according to the needs but never ever the
central line of code. If TRS is a vaishnava and you are a kerala iyer why
did you go to him?.
And you spoke to him with such VINAYAM and later threw him off as
Iyengar and a bad guru means WHAT ARE YOU?. nOT ONLY HERE ;YOU HAVE DONE
SUCH WRITE UP IN YOUR CAREER WITH OTHERS ALSO PROUDLY DISCLOSING WHO YOU
ARE. aND DID THE SAME ACT OF THROWING OFF AND CALLING THEM AS USELESS. You
are 76 sir and he iS 95; what is my loss if my mother is a prostitute as
NARAYANASAMY WRITES AND sai IS WATCHING OVER (IS HE RELATED TO HIM?) I do
what I am taught and lead a life of elevating myself as for as possible
with the vedas. In that process when I read a lot of the west write up I
found our cult was destroyed. And more knowledge showed me we have
everything right from modern science to life -chord, here but every one of
us is destroyed by the education we had but 90% refused to turn up out of
the attired characters till then. That is the truth. Why a man at singapore
95 who knew some tatriya and practiced for money as vadhyar also for some
time shall not understand to teach taittiriya samhita elaborately but in a
line or two bamboozled iditic phrase and quoted always the
Tennysons because even at 95 he did not grow beyond but pretended to be the

DIVINE INFORMATION PART 8

DIVINEINFORMATION  PART 8

Dear friends,

While going through one of my externalmemory device, I came across some good
information stored from   a website (not available now).  I thought of sharing
interesting ones fromthem as a series. These are short information.

Inpart 7, I am starting with 34th  item in this posting.

Sincerely,

Gopala Krishnan 17-05-2021

34  SACRED TREES ANDPLANTS

For the Hindu, everything in theuniverse is sacred and whatever grows, is more
so. In Hinduism animisticbeliefs find a place side by side with the highest
philosophical and religiousspeculation, and are often expressed mystically and
esoterically. The tree deity has been found in the stamp seals of the Indus
Valleycivilization.

Sacred groves, homes of mothergoddesses, abound and some types of trees have
attained great importance inHinduism. Plantssuch as the tulsi, a type of basil,
are equally important. Thespirits that inhabit trees are the yakshas, feminine
deities;male figures never appear in such a connection.

Veneration of the tree is a form ofShaktism, the cult of the Great Mother.

Ayaksha is propriated with offerings such as food, bits of cloth tied to
thebranches and red-smeared stones put at the base of the tree. Some trees
likethe tulsi are worshipped daily, some every month, while some others are
worshipped only during specificfestivals.

Some of the important trees and plantsare described below.

Pipal(Ficus religiosa) is one of the leading trees in Hinduism andBuddhism. It
is also known as the bodhi tree becauseGautama Buddha attained enlightenment
under it. The tree is theobject of universal worship throughout India. It is
sacred to Vishnu. It is avery large tree with high raised roots which descend
to the ground from thebranches like additional trunks.

Other important trees sacred to Vishnuare: the Banyan or Indian Fig tree (Ficus
Indica), Chandra-mallika(Chrysanthemum indicum), Naga Keshara (Mesua ferrea),
etc.

Trees sacred to Shiva are the famous Ashoka (Saraca Indica) withpointed leaves,
Kesara (Mimusops Elengi), Champaka (Michela Champaca), and Vataamongst others.

Lakshmihas Kamala (Nelumbium speciosum) while Parvati has Sri-phala (Aegle
Marmelos)as their representatives.

TheKaila or plantain is sacred to one of the forms of Kali. It is commonly used
in marriages and during festivals adecorative doorway is made out of it,
leading to the temple or the room wherethe prayers are to be held.

Tulsi(Ocynum sanctum) is a sacred plant of the basil family. Tulsi was oneof
Vishnu’s paramours.

Outof jealousy his wife Lakshmi turned her into a plant, and the god became the
salagramastone to keep her company.

In some versions of thestory, Tulsi and Lakshmi are the same.

Theplant is about three feet is height. Everyday the ground near it is
coveredwith a layer of cowdung and at night a lamp is lit near it. It is a
commoncustom to place a sprig of tulsi near the head of a dying person. The
aromaticleaves are taken as a digestive after meals.

In addition to the above, the KushaGrass (Pao cynosuroides) and Durva Grass
(Agrostis linearis) are alsoconsidered very sacred.

Thekusha has the quality of warding off evils. In allrituals, kusha is a must
in some form or other. Durva is supposed tobe very auspicious and is offered to
Ganesha.

35 SADHUS

The Sadhu (also known as yogi andsanyasi), is a Hindu ascetic who has renounced
caste, social position, moneyand authority, and occupies a special place in
Hindu society. As one who seeksthe Universal Soul in order to be absorbed in
it, the Sadhu is set apart fromthe orthodox priesthood as renunciation is
considered superior to the ritualsof the priests.

The concept of the Sadhu traces itsorigin to the earliest images of Shiva
himself, with his matted hair and thebody covered with ash. A Sadhu does not
have any caste and isfree to attach himself to any strata of the social
structure.

The Sadhu is credited with much of thedevelopment of Indian culture, art,
architecture, music, poetry and literature, influencing and forming the very
world he has abandoned with his endlesstravels from one sacred site to another,
singing songs and reciting poetry andcarrying icons, paintings and other
sanctified objects.

TheSadhu usually wears on his forehead the three lines of the god’s trident
drawnin ash or sandalwood paste which may be vertical or horizontal. Endless
variations of these sectarianmarks, depending on the sect, are possible. They
may decorate their bodies withvarious lines and markings, cover the entire
torso with ashes, carry a metaltrident and wear rosaries. The hair and the
beard are uncut andmatted.

Shaivite Sadhus are followers of Shivaand are divided into various sects.

TheDasanami (monks with ten names) sect has about ten branches scattered all
overIndia. They each havean armed militant branch called the Nagas. They follow
Tantrism and Shaktism, eat meat, take stimulants and

Q1 Why do some people covertheir phones with tempered glass? Is it to
prevent their screen from shatteringto pieces?

A1  Dave Haynie UpdatedDecember 18, 2018 Hardware Systems Engineer
(Rajant + Commodore-Amiga + 20years in startups)

Nope. Most phones have some kindof highly engineered glass for the screen these
days. In the past, this was something like Gorilla Glass 2,going way back, such
as used on this Samsung Galaxy S3. It was pretty scratchresistant. But, being
so hard, it was prone to shattering.

Corning then delivered GorillaGlass 3, which was said to be40% more scratch
resistant than GG2. However, if anything, it was even moreshatter prone. That
should not be a suprise — hardness and brittleness arepretty much going to
track each other.

Now, back in those days, I neverdid have a shattered screen. Inever used any
kind of screen protector. And my phone lived just dandy in mypocket, next to
keys, coins, random small electronic components, cool lookingpebbles, anything
else I might happen to pick up and pocket.

So nearly three years ago, Iupgraded to the nearlyindestructible LG V10. This
bad boy has a rubberized plastic back cover, stainless steel rails on the side,
MIL-810G drop certification, and thenew-at-the-time Gorilla Glass 4. So this
goes into my pocket, and … what the,who the, how the… within a week, fine
scratches on the screen. Not many, notsevere, but there they were. That was
damn near impossible with the olderphones.

What happened here is thatCorning decided to back off on the brittleness of the
glass in order to prevent smashing or shattering. Gorilla Glass 4 isreally
resistant to those all-screen smashes you see, say, on 25% of alliPhones. Not
impossible, but it’s a much more resilient glass. It’s just, inorder to deliver
that, they had to make it more “scratchy”.

And thus, my 9H glass screenprotectors. My current one has a few hairline
cracks in it. That’s what I expect, because the screen protectors are
prettymuch all about hardness. They crack or shatter, they don’t scratch. They
offerprotection against scratching, primarily, though of course, a
person’smotivation for using one can be any belief they choose. The main actual
value,however, is scratch protection.

So you may get a little helpagainst shattering. The simplest way to shatter
glass is to hit it very sharply at a single point with a blow. So the
protectorwill blunt such a strike just a bit, but if the impact is enough to
break thescreen due to its own brittleness, it’s not going to be much help

My note- I am provided  my Galaxy Samsung phone with a glass/fibre over glass
front in additionwith extra payment. Sometimes   I feelmy touch do not reach
the glass touch screen.

GAYA SRARDHA – REG

2021-05-16 Thread 'gopala krishnan' via Thatha_Patty

GAYA SRARDHA – REG

Dear friends,

I have read the full link given by Sri Rajaram IRS which isa question answer
between me and TRS Iyengar who is a sastrikal in Mattunga andowning a website
during2007 or so, forwardedto me by SriNarayanaswamy.

The part regarding Gaya srardha I reproduce below.

In your one earlier query I had clarified already the followingpoints which I
may add here too for the benefit of visitors:

1.Gaya sraadha is equivalent to performing 60 annual sraadhas.

2.After Gaya sraadha, conducting sraadha should not be discontinued. Continuing
sraadha will surely feed Jnatha Anjathapithrus

If our pithrus have gone to their destinations. It addsto punniabalam.

Thereare even persons perform sraadhafor Jnatha anjatha pithrus too for
punniam.

Ihope this reply is elaborate as you desired.

Some important QA from the link I reproduce below:-

Q7.  Sir Do our pithru reachswarga?

A7.  Why doubt? The ultimatedestination being Kailasam aka Paramapadam, the
souls wander from   one location to other, depending on theirmerits and punya
bhalam. They reach their destinations by varioussteps; pithrulokam, devalokam,
etc. The actual  paramapatham, Srivaikuntham or kailasam are one and the same
as per the   philosophical readings.

Q14. Sir, I know there aredifferent types of sraadhas. There is Atma pinda
sraadha with special manthratoo. My question sir, who are advised to perform
Jala srradha and Hiranyasraadha?

A14.Hiranaya sraadha I have already replied. However I will give one more
clarification andexpress the srardha niyama as explained by my distant cousin,
late Sri Mukkur Lakshminarasimhachariar, (who was very popular for his divine
writings in manyperiodicals, very specifically for an article series in Kalki
“Kurai Onrum IlRlaiGovinda”) has given some hints on the Srardha procedures.

Heeven wrote an article in one of the KalkiDeepavalisupplement and I give the
contents here below for the readers to take a note. The Srardha niyama in
threedifferent types with each having values on Uthama, Madhima & Athama paksha

Sincerely,

GopalaKrishnan 16-5-2021

Respected Sri Rajaram IRS

Withat most respect you I am writing the following:-

Ihad written in my posting Divineinformation part 7 one can perform srardha on
the thithi day invoking only jnatha Anjatha pithrus. If sasthrikal recite
manthra invoking only jnatha Anjatha pithrus, one can performsrardha
withoutpithruvaranam.

Regardingdifferent types of srardhas, he is referring to his cousin’s book of
different type of practices inSriVaishanvam.  You just see the
titleSrivaishnavam practices in web page.

AnIyengar worship only in Sri Vishnu temples (exemptions are there).
Theirpractices are different from ours.

Hehas told in a correspondence to me if pithruvaram is done, with hesitation
our pithru comesfrom Devaloka, accept the offerings and give to Jnatha Anjatha
pithrus.

Youcan correspond with TRS iyengar and ask whether he has written to me so. I
lost old files. Or elseI could have produced.

Kindlyread my postings fully. Aboveall he is a sasthrikal. He is not the
ultimate authority. He know fewthings which he replied. Another sasthrikal may
have different view.

Kindlynote- It is Sri Vaishnavam practices.

Whatis quoted from his cousin is not his view. Hiranya sradham goes to the
lowestcategory. Now not having Brahmins even for Hiranya sradham is the case
inKerala.

You can discuss this point with SriVenkat Raman also.He was
invitingNampoothiries for srardha. Later they stopped coming.  However he has
performed Gaya srardha.

AmongTamil Brahmins the practices are different. Among Kerala iyers there
arevariations since they settled in Kerala long back.

Oncebefore performing Gayasrardha, my sasthrikal brought two Brahmins for
asrardha. One was a KeralaMoothathu talking in Malayalam. Without asking
sasthrikal  said- it is very difficult to get iyers for sradha.

Ihave only one point to request you. You write anything you like as your
postings.

I mark your mails to spam after yourwriting to me- Donot write anything based
on my responses. What is the benefit of reading your responsesif I cannot use
it? I canalso write in similar lines. But I do not. As per my
understandinganybody can respond based on another’s posting. It is a world of
internet.

MUSK MELON- MULAMPAZHAM

2021-05-16 Thread 'gopala krishnan' via Thatha_Patty

MUSK MELON-MULAMPAZHAM

Dear friends,

Today about 10 AM one vendor was selling musk melon in the road. My
wifepurchased one and asked whether she may purchase one more. I said
inaffirmative since Mulampazham is one fruit  I like most. It is slightly
sweet.

After half an hour she bought after peeling the ripe one, with smashingthe
flesh  to a few uneven pieces in amedium bowl.  She announced, it is for eating
now, afternoon and night.

I did not ask why for three times in a bowl. However it was more than forone
time. After eating three pieces I kept the bowl closed.

Mulampazham availability is lesser in bazar comparing to Krishani,
anothervariety, slightly different in skin appearance and internal flesh is
hard in it.Mulampazham flush is not hard and slightly more sweet.

Most probably cool drinks stalls procure mulampazham more. Mulampazhamcannot be
stored on groundas a heap, like watermelon since due to weight of the melon
above,bottom one may break.

In Kerala though summer is like in Tamilnadu, sometimes more, stillgetting
vellaripinchu, tender cucumber, mulampazham etc. were difficult while Iwas in
Trivandrum. Sometimes these may be available now. I thought today myposting can
be about Mulampazham-musk melon.

Sincerely,

Gopala Krishnan 16-5-2021.

1 Introduction

We all are familiar with this delicious summer fruit but may not be  aware of
its potential benefits. You would behappy to know that it is not only an
incredibly refreshing evening snack of thesummer but also a great nutritional
source.

Muskmelon, also referred to as ‘sweet melon,’ got its name from its strongmusky
smell. It is a yellow-colored fruit with tempting sweetness and apleasant
aroma. They are abundantly available in the summer season and havehigh water
content, making them hydrating and cooling.

>From its flesh to skin, and seeds, all parts of muskmelon fruit havehealth

>groundinto a paste to make a facemask. It is a free beauty treatment
>thatpeople are practicing for ages. Applying the paste to your skin can help
>reduceany signs of dryness, blemishes, acne, etc.

Moreover, for pregnant women, muskmelon juice is highly recommended by doctors
due to its high folate content that helps inpreventing water retention by
eradicating excess sodium from the body.

My note- Mostly in homes we eatthe flesh and discard skin and seeds.

30 RUDRAKSHA BEADS

The Rudraksha is one of the most commonlyused beads amongst the Hindus. The
tree on which it grows belongs tothe species of Elaeocarpus Ganitrus found in
the Himalayas.

Theseed of the fruit of this tree is used as a bead and is classified into four
categories according totheir shape and sizes. They are:

Rudraksha. This is round and large in size and most commonly used for prayers
medicinesand for making garlands.

Bhadraksha. This one is smallerin size and round. It is less beneficial than
Rudraksha.

Indraksha. This is shaped likea groundnut and is oval.

Sahastraksha. It is shaped like Indraksha only it is slightly flat in shape.

The bead is classifiedon the basis of the number of lines or months (mukhas)
running from top tobottom. The number of mouths can vary from one to fourteen

The five-mouthed (Pancha mukha) beads are the most common while thosehaving one
to four and six to fourteen are the most rare, fetching the highestprice.

Asingle faced bead is the rarest and the owner will befree from the cycle of
births and rebirths.

Thedouble faced one is sacred to Shiva and his shakti.

Thethree-faced one to the trinity and the three shaktis.

Thefour-faced one is associated with Brahma and the four Vedas.

Thefive-faced one is to Shiva and the six faced one to Kartikeya.

Onwearing the seven-faced bead the goddess Mahalakshmi is happy.

Theeight-faced one is to Ganesha and the wearer is always victorious.

The nine-faced bead representsthe nine-shakti’s (Durga).

Theten-faced one represents the ten directions and is specially useful.

 Theeleven faced one represents Rudra

Thetwelve faced one the Sun and the thirteen faced one removes all evil.

Thefourteen-faced one represents fourteen manifestations and also destroys
allevil.

Theseeds are generally of four colours.

The most highly prized are the white, the reddish, the golden and the dark.

The first and the third varieties arerare. Their superiority is not on the
basis of rarity but on the four‘varanas’, whitebeing suggestive of Brahmin, red
of Kshatriya, gold of Vaisya and the dark ofthe Sudra.

Legendhas it that the Rudraksha seed was created from the tears of Rudra, the
fierceform of Shiva, thus endowing it with medicinal, occult and spiritual
powers. Each of the fourteen types of beadshas a governing deity and specific
properties. The smaller the sizeof the bead, the greater its efficacy.

The bead that has a natural opening toallow the string to pass is considered
the most sacred.

Rituals and observances are prescribedalong with the wearing of this bead for
getting the desired results. Itscontact with the body is essential to derive
its magical powers. It may be wornsingly on a white thread or in a garland.

Agenuine Rudraksha bead is supposed to be beneficial to a person for good
healthand well-being.

The smaller beads are used in rosaries, normally of twenty-seven, fifty-four or
one hundred and eight beads and areconsidered very effective in meditation
while chanting the prayers.

Apart from the general classification, unusualshaped beads are highly valued
by devout Hindus.

Thetest of a genuine Rudraksa is that it will sink to the bottom if put in a
glassof water.

The major trade of this bead is concentratedin the holy cities of India like
Varanasi and Haridwar.

31   SACREDMOUNTAINS

Mountains, which occupy an importantplace in Hindu mythology, are a symbol of
strength when certain gods in theirfury grow to resemble mountains, and of
oppressive weight when they are torn upand used as missiles by gods or demons.
The most important of these are of course the Himalayas, onthe summits of which
are the heavens. Mountains, specially the Himalayas werealso important as it
was amongst them that the holy men, the yogis and thesadhus lived doing
meditation.

Itwas here that the important ashramas of the gurus were located and many are
still functioning. A person going on a trek in theHimalayas can easily find
yogis doing meditation in caves amongst the highsnow-capped peaks.

Someof the important mountains are :

Meru, which bears on its summit Brahma’s heaven, and acts as a pivot for the
three worlds around which theheavenly bodies revolve.

Himavan, which took the form of a manwhen the gods wished Sati to be reborn, and
became the father of first theGanga, and then of Parvati.

Mandara, which is a revered mountain inthe Himalayas and was thought to be the
only one mighty enough to serve as apole in the churning of the milk ocean. It
became the home of Durga.
