Are those images public or are you using the public link?
Try to open the image in a separate browser window, if you can see then you
should be able to link it.
Just test with the old-fashioned img tag

What you should do is to write your own rules in a separate tiddler with
normal css syntax.
Then tag that tiddler wit $:/tags/stylesheet.
Since your rules are more precises than the default ones you should see the
changes immediately after pressing save.
