Hi all,
When I try to import a .tid file by invoking the Import tool in the
toolbar, it doesn't appear in $:/Import. Instead I get a random list of
tiddlers already in my Wiki. Or rather, though I'm not sure of this, the
list might not be random but rather contain tiddlers that I have
Hi Mat
Great stuff, well done. Is there a canned demo available on TiddlySpot or
somewhere?
Best wishes

Hi Greg and Jed,
thanks for the feedback. I added some documentation which mainly
consists of pointers to the official documentation for further
information about plugins and filters (as suggested).
Furthermore, I changed the following things:

Måns, thank you for reporting on your stuff for it. I played around and
currently have it show *both *a tags editor and a tagpill field as they
both have their different advantages. (In the following I changed the
Hi Linus
I'm running TW 5.1.7 on Firefox. (Yes, I'm yet to upgrade, but thought I
would wait for 5.1.9 due to some reported bugs with 5.1.8.)
The only problems with 5.1.8 that have been reported are issues for people
who had upgraded to a pre-release of 5.1.8 that was posted for 48 hours.

What if 5.1.9 doesn't fix the bug(s) you don't name here. So nobody knows,

Mario,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Cancelling the import operation did indeed
delete $:/Import, but this did not fix the issue with the lingering
tiddlers – trying to import a file brings them, instead of the file
contents, right back into $:/Import. So I guess that their JSON
The bug in question was that of single quotes breaking after updating from
5.1.7. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Jeremy planned to fix this in 5.1.9.

Hi Andreas
That's a really nice piece of work, congratulations. It looks great too.
Seeing it reminds me that I'd like to try to make it a goal for 5.1.9 to
get third party plugins such as this listed in the plugin library. I'll
open a ticket for discussion about how we might do that.

Hi Mat
A bit embarrassing but how do I actually install a TW plugin from GitHub?
There's no simple answer because it actually depends how the developer has
arranged their repository (which is just a folder full of files).
In many cases, developers will publish the Node.js exploded plugin
Yes, it works! I was putting the full URL into the Wiki Name field, so it
was failing silently. Some message would be helpful, like Tiddlyspot wiki

very clear.
thanks!

Hi Greg
Without setting up node.js to build plugins, would saving the required
tiddlers as a JSON be an acceptable way to distribute custom setups?
A plugin is in fact implemented as a JSON string of tiddlers, much like a
.json tiddlers file. The difference is that the tiddlers within a plugin
Awe, Thanks. I just have to keep better care with more frequent backups. I
got some good ideas about backing up so hopefully I don't experience that

Hi Stef
You would indeed have to buy some webspace to run TW as a server. Or you
might be able to just use an old PC in the closet at home - or a raspberry
pi.
If you're not ready for Node.js I'd suggest just continuing with the
standalone edition; the Node.js configuration will be there for you
