[tw5] HTTP Error 500.19 On IIS Setup

2019-07-16 Thread MagoArcade
Hi,

New to TiddlyWiki an excited to get this up and running. Great concept -
quite revolutionary.

I'm trying to get a setup running on my IIS10 Windows Home Server. I
followed the guide point by point (including installing git) but sadly got
a HTTP 500 error

I followed the guide here:
https://tiddlywiki.com/#Installing%20TiddlyWiki%20on%20Microsoft%20Internet%20Information%20Server

One hiccup I encountered was the link for "HttpPlatformHandler" - led to a
dead end. Eventually I discovered I could install this via the Site's (i.e.
"Default Web Site" on IIS) Web Platform Installer.

When I performed the npm install, I got:

[image: td_npm.png]

Is this right?

Sadly, when I did the test via "localhost/MyApp" I got:

[image: td_501.png]

Any ideas?

Thanks Mario! I am actually using your plugin for a couple of my TW right
now.

My problem was solved once I used column-count instead of the WebKit code.

Mark, I have a strong feeling your macro will be very useful for me.
Would you mind documenting it a little in the "Information about this
macro" part (what it does, how to use)?
And might it be something relevant to integrate into your PR
?
Thank you!

Hi TT,

You're going to write an entire setup wizard in PS ?

For documentation, if you're going to have diagrams, you could launch a
TiddlyWiki file with the default browser. I suppose it could be used for
setup too.

I was thinking about it. A reason to do so is that precise pathings are
very important in it. A setup up would allow easy path checking. Also on
first run without a suited .ini it may be confusing.

I was thinking maybe a release could include a docs TW that will be able to
get restored using polly automatically? A thought.

Original Edge is a bit of a non-starter for me with TIddlyWiki. It won't
read/write HTML files on a networked drive! Or at least on my drive.
I found lots of references to this problem, but no solutions. It has
something to do with over-the-top security. None of the other browsers,
including IE had this problem. The new (Chromium) Edge doesn't have this
problem (yet).

If your educational environment uses a networked drive, you might verify in
advance that your default version of Edge will work with it.

Thanks!

A presto.

One of the things that interests me about Polly is being able to
(eventually) provide film students of mine with a pre-configured system in
which all they need to do is confirm the Download address. Having to ask
them to switch browser model in order to use a saver they have to
additionally download and install in software they don't know is all too
much for a student principally interested in film, not computers.

[tw5] Re: Tiny Todolist RC2: New UI and major improvement

2019-07-16 Thread Mat
Very nice Mohammad!

It makes me realize a "trap" that I would have fallen into had I made this;
It feels self evident to me that every item should be a tiddler in these
types of checklists. But your implementation makes me realize that, nope,
of course they don't have to be and when they are not then the todo string
can instead *contain* links to several relevant tiddlers.

One small thing could simplify the UI even a tad more: The "check all"and
"uncheck all" buttons could be merged into one (by means of the a
revealwidget).

Re: [tw5] Re: Is there a filter to find links in other fields than text

2019-07-16 Thread Jan

Hi Mark, Hi Mat
I am happy to hear that.
To be honest I would not have not have managed to do this without your
help, in fact it is the second thing in javascript I ever did.

I got a small amelioration:

|if (text !== null) {...|

avoids red alerts which were happend before so we have this:

|/*\
title: $:/core/modules/macros/roles.js
type: application/javascript
module-type: macro
Making some replacements in Textinputs
\*/

(function(){
   /*jslint node: true, browser: true */
   /*global $tw: false */
   "use strict";

/*
Information about this macro
*/
  exports.name
 = 'roles';
  exports.params = [{ name: 'text'  }];
/*
Run the macro
*/
exports.run = function(text) {
if (text == null) {

var text = " ";

}
var regex = /\[\[.*?\]\]/g;
var text = text.match(regex);
if (text !== null) {
var text = "[[" + text.join("]] [[") + "]]";
return text
}
} ;

})();|

It would be nice to turn this into a general extract macro with start
and end parameters and the option to keep or chop start and end. So far
Thomas Elmingers extract Macro did this Job for me but some things like
those brackets are stubborn. I will see what I can achieve.

Cheers! Jan

I just installed the plugin into m left side floating menu bar (from
Twaddle). and the todolist extends behind the story river on the right. I
have to set the width of 350px to the leftbar in order for the buttons to
be visible. Can the layout be made more fluid?
Second suggestion: Can it be made that we hit enter and an item is added,
instead of the + button? If this can be done, then one more thing needless
thing can be shaved off from the ui.

[tw5] Typo Led to Great Discovery! Numbered Hierarchies in TOC

2019-07-16 Thread Aidan Grey
I have seen a LOT of people looking for numbered hierarchies, and I've seen
a lot of complicated ways to get to them. I think I accidentally found a
solution.

<>

That one missing space between "toc"and "tc-table-of-contents" resulted in
fully and accurately numbered items, all the way down. Gord is a numeric
field (for grammar order), and the nsort provides the correct numbering at
every level, even if I change the gord values.

It's not *"06.11.02 Perfective"*, but it's partway there. This might be a
clue to how to make those labels...

Whee!

Aidan

[tw5] Macro question

2019-07-16 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello all you helpful folks.

I'm having a little nuisance with a macro that I'm using which is shown
below:

\define date-str(date)
<$list filter="[[$date$]splitbefore[-]]" variable=x >
<$list filter="[[$date$]removeprefixsplitbefore[-]removesuffix[-]]"
variable=m>
<$list filter="[[data-months]getindex]" variable="mname">
<$list filter="[[$date$]splitbefore[-]removesuffix[-]]" variable=y>
<$list filter="[[$date$]removeprefixremoveprefixremoveprefix[-]]"
variable=d>
<> <>, <>

\end

The macro works great except that there is a space at the end of the final
result that I can't figure out how to get rid of. Is this just a result of
using a macro or is there a change I can make so that the trailing space
isn't present?

Many thanks in advance,

Damon

[tw5] experimenting with svg interactivity in TW

2019-07-16 Thread A Gloom
experimenting with svg interactivity in TW

//WORK IN PROGRESS DOCUMENT//

this covers mouse hover, links in the svg, displaying external images
inside
the svg (svg image tag, use tag)

the ways to display svg's:
import (inline) (svg code in tiddler)
for external svg's:
image tags
object
embed
iframe

imported (inline) svg

The best for in wiki use and interactivity once the fix below is applied
https://tiddlywiki.com/#Using%20SVG

imported svg initially have no interactivity since their type field is set
to "image/svg+xml" and will not display other external graphics or svg's
embedded in the svg code.

FIX: type can be changed from "image/svg+xml" to "text/vnd.tiddlywiki", or
"application/x-tiddler" and things work

it is not suggested to use application/x-tiddler, when used it caused some
unpredictable results, like breaking the wikitext image tag and $image tag
displays (1 & 2) below.

IMAGE TAGS:
1 - [img[.svg]]
2 - <$image source=".svg"/>
3 -
   -

1 -  svg tiddler, type "image/svg+xml" with "_canonical_uri"
2,3 - type "image/svg+xml"
 -- inserts the svg inside an image tag
 -- src=data:image/svg+xml, and the entire svg content
 -- -- done by the img widget not having a "_canonical_uri" field
4 inside an image tag
 -- src = url

NO HOVER, LINKS, EXTERNAL IMAGE DISPLAY (inside svg)

Image tag is not an option for interactivity
images with tags are not allowed to refer to external resources
if the svg uses web fonts, the fonts will fail to render and resort to
system font

this from TW documentation:

The implications of the image being rendered within an element are
that it is sandboxed; it can't use CSS styles from the parent document, for
example. Neither can the image use WikiText features like transclusion.

OTHER TAGS:

Object tag is suggested for interactivity with external svg's

---  #document ?

---  #document ?

---  #document ?

Hover & external image display (inside svg) works

PROBLEM: tiddler links in external svg can be coded but the usual #tiddler
name doesn't work because the link ends up as svgfilename.svg#tiddlername.
Using full wiki url-- ie wikiname.html#tiddlername-- will open another
complete copy of the wiki in the tiddler.

Using target "_top" or "_parent" will open another copy of the wiki in the
same tab, replacing the previous copy (which you can return to with the
browser's back button).

The easiest and least painful way to have tiddler links is in a svg tiddler
(set to type "text/vnd.tiddlywiki", not "image/svg+xml"). At least for an
overlay for external images and svg's that can be "svg transcluded" using
svg's internal image or use tags.

test tiddlers will be posted soon...

2019-07-16 Thread Damon Pritchett
For completeness, I should also show how I'm calling this macro:

The date of the event was <$macrocall $name="date-str" date={{!!mydate}}/>.

[tw5] Re: Creating similar tabs sections for individual tiddlers

2019-07-16 Thread TonyM
Pedro,

You will notice in the macro I provided show-tabset I set the state field
as
<$set name=state value=<> >
This makes a state tiddler unique for each Tiddler

I think you may still make use of saving the state, if an intermediate user
opens the advanced tab let it remain so when they return.

However if you have a tiddler somewhere containing the current users
"level" eg $:/config/studentlevel you can make a new macro (recommended) or
change mine such that the line

<$macrocall $name=tabs tabsList=<> state=<> />

Sets the default here
<$macrocall $name=tabs tabsList=<> state=<> default=<
> />

Now we need to define the default-tab macro
\define default-tab() [[$(currentTiddler)$-{{$:/config/studentlevel}}]]

Then until the user changes the tab, the tab with the title in
$:/config/studentlevel
<>
will display first.

Caveats

   - I have not tested the above code
   - It depends on your consistently naming tabs etc... careful with case
   except in the caption field(s)

Regards
Tony

[tw5] SIdeBar Segments in a reveal widget?

2019-07-16 Thread passingby
Can it be done, that Site Title, Subtitle, Page Controls, and SearchBar ,
all put in a single segment which has a hide/reveal slider for these
elements? Basically, only show the SideBar Tabs by default? This way I ll
have my SIdebar Menu right up the screen and would not need a LeftBar
(which I installed).

I do not need to see my SiteTitle and Sub title all the time (because a TW
is most of the time for the person himself, not for the other time). And
Search is needed only occasionally, but yes I need my TOC most of the time,
which would be in a sidebar tab.

[tw5] Re: Typo Led to Great Discovery! Numbered Hierarchies in TOC

2019-07-16 Thread Aidan Grey
Specifics, which I realize I left out:

I have tocP plugin installed. In this case, I had two instances, one right
after the other, and I changed one to be the usual TOC process (class
="tc-table...") so that I could fix my old style TOC and change to the
parent based one. "tocP" is a required class for the plugin, but "toc" is
not for the core TOC. I forgot, and deleted the P to leave "toc
tc-table-..." only I accidentally the P and the space.

And voila.

Now I'm keeping the numbered one.

So, if anyone wants to sort out how/why this works, it's probably somewhere
in the tocP plugin...

Could you provide some additional content to this so I can past into

We can then fix it in place and share the fix.

eg

jiggly as in an actual contast "motion" jiggle (like an animation motion)--

Mohammad,

I have an application of this list you may be able to advise me on, or
perhaps it will need a minor enhancement to support it.

I would like to introduce the todo list via the view template to all People
and Office tiddlers in a solution I am building however I do not want any
change on the current tiddler.

I seems to be as simple as

This seems to work, but I think you can evaluate the result better than me.

It was tried to keep it simple, so these options are in access if you click
on option button!

The change log is as below.

This version works both with TW 5.1.20pr and older version.

1.0.0 – release candidate 2

16th July 2019

   - Revert to TW 5.1.19 to support more audiences
   - redesign the main UI
  - no table is used in UI
  - flexbox layout for main UI and archive display
   - supports multi todo lists in the same wiki
   - supports UI width to have custom layout (media query was removed)

Some issues, request received from group have been addressed!

2019-07-16 Thread Julio Peña
Hello there Mohammad,

Wow...great stuff!
I've been looking for something simple like this to integrate into some of
my Tiddlywikis.

Thanks for sharing!

Best regards,

[tw5] Re: [tw] Re: [TW5] WebDav Saver Observations.

2019-07-16 Thread MagoArcade
Hi all - did this result in a dead end? I'm trying to serve tw via IIS and
Webdav to enable editing over the internet. Have it connecting fine in
terms of reading, but consistently get "Error whilst saving: File changed
on server" no matter how much I tinker with WebDav/Auth/SSL settings.

I've tried other methods too (node.js server etc) none of which are working
for this scenario.

TiddlyWiki looks fab, but this saving malarky appears to be its Achilles
heel?

[tw5] Re: Tiny Todolist RC2: New UI and major improvement

2019-07-16 Thread Mohammad
What is new in Todolist Pluging 1.0.0 RC 2

   1. Create several todo lists in the same wiki, each todo uses a seprate
   namespace
   2. Archive completed tasks (items) for future references!
   3. Selectively remove items in archived tiddler
   4. Empty the archive at once

Layout

   1. No table in the UI
   2. Better design for sidebar
   3. pass the required width as macro parameter

Bulk operations

   1. Mark all items as done
   2. Mark all items as undone
   3. Archive completed items
   4. Delete permanently items from archive
   5. Empty archive at once

Internals

   1. Todolist is a PURE Tiddlywiki 5 plugin NO JS
   2. Todolist uses several data tiddlers for creating and managing todolost
   3. From Plugin page it is possible to see all internals and remove them
   when they are not required

It is good to support by staring at Gitub
and it worth to send your feedback!

Development and testing takes more than 50 hours!

I like the improvements. Its better not to have a table. And it looks great

[tw5] Re: Creating similar tabs sections for individual tiddlers

2019-07-16 Thread pedruchini
Tony,

Here is my use case (simplified). I'm teaching a foreign language and...

for the tiddler 'Adverbs' I would like to have three tabs:

Beginners - Intermediate - advanced

Now, since the students who are consulting this tiddlywiki are at
intermediates's level I would like the tab 'intermediate' be selected by
default.

The other two tabs allow these students to brush up on their beginners
level o to extend their knowledge to the advanced level, but the main tab
should be 'Intermediate'. That's why it would be nice to have a tab
selected by default.
As for states, in the tiddler '$:/core/ui/ViewTemplate/title' I added this:

<$action-deletetiddler $filter="[prefix[$:/state/]]"

to clear all states (in fact I created a second 'close botton' to 'close
and clear all states').

Therefore, it won't use the last selected tab, but the default tab.

Well, it only happens when I hover over the object. And it's less of a
jiggle, and more "when highlighted, text moves 6 pixels to the left and 3
pixels up" and "on mouseoff, text moves back to original position." I have
no idea what causes it, or why it happens for certain text objects, but not
for others. The code for the two areas is identical, with the exception of
the path.

I did get the viewports figured out! What I did, is I would go into
Inkscape, create a 'clip' over the objects I needed, set document size to
crop in close around that area, then copy and paste the width, height, and
viewport from that svg, to the old one, so I didn't have to tell with all
of Inkscape's bloat. Oh, I also needed to include the transform property
from the "cropped" svg, and paste it into the group that contains all the
interactivity zones, but after that, it's cake!

Hi Tony,
 This is a great use case! Thank you!

So a viewtemplate like this

created: 20190717032355377
modified: 20190717032832272
tags: $:/tags/ViewTemplate
title: tempelate/todolist

<$list filter="[all[current]tag[office]]">
<>

Will add a todo list at the bottom of all tiddlers tagged with office!

You always give neat ideas!

Cheers

This is a great spin off idea which I can imagine how to do but it may be
better as a core widget or plugin using core javascript like for the
current list draggable. The Idea would be to import the list into a
draggable list, allow reordering, then press a button and commit the new
order back to the data tiddler (write the whole thing again) including the
values.

[tw5] Re: Tiny Todolist RC2: New UI and major improvement

2019-07-16 Thread passingby
Hi Mohammed,

Noted all the points.

I have put the TodoLIst in my main Sidebar(right side). Expanded the width
of the SideBar to 400 px. I have gotten rid of the LeftBar. Put everything
in the Right SideBar. I was getting irritated with 2 bar on the page. Also
I got rid of the Site Title, Sub title, Page Controls as well as the Search
Bar. They were hogging up space for no good use of mine. I put all of them
in a Sidebar tab. Made everything look minimalistic. And the SideBar
shifted up the page too. My TOC is on the Sidebar Tab. Looks good now.
Will report if any more issues crop up.

Thanks

[tw5] Re: SIdeBar Segments in a reveal widget?

2019-07-16 Thread passingby
Ok, I am not sure if this was the proper way to do this but it worked as
intended.

I first made a SideBar Tab tiddler [[Front]] with this as content:

{{$:/core/ui/SideBarSegments/site-title}}
{{$:/core/ui/SideBarSegments/site-subtitle}}
{{$:/core/ui/SideBarSegments/page-controls}}
{{$:/core/ui/SideBarSegments/search}}

So now upon saving I have these segments in a sidebar tab

2. Now I took every of these tiddlers above mentioned, and cloned them, so
they are now overriding the originals, and then deleted their
'$:/tags/SideBarSegment' tag. Now after saving. The segments on the top
right are gone and the tabs have shifted up.

It looks good.

Ciao Mark

Excellent! And there I was about to send my demo version!

I've made a lot of cosmetic changes because of the new features. But I'll
integrate i-MS too now before sending. With "parrots" you have basically
covered most scenarios. I think parrots will prove particularly useful.

I think documentation is not that easy for it. Maybe we should eventually
include some diagrams?

I started to play with idea of making a "setup" tool that on first run
guides the user through the creation of an .ini. On install Polly would
lack settings.ini and auto-launch the setup script. Early idea.

Best wishes
