I definitely like this. In the MyStory tab would it be possible to somehow
highlight which tiddler you are currently reading so that you could see
where in the entire story that you are?

[tw5] Re: TiddlyDesktop -- Knock, Knock

One reason that I haven't been using TiddlyDesktop lately and editing in
Chrome instead is because of the built in spellchecker. Is there a plugin
or extension that could add spellchecking to either TiddlyWiki or

Thanks for the reply. I tried what you suggested, but it had absolutely no

[tw5] Comments Plugin

2019-01-20 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi All,

I've got a tiddler that is tagged with $:/tags/ViewTemplate that I use to
append text to the bottom of all tiddlers with a certain tag. I've started
playing with the new comments plugin, which I like a lot, but it shows up
before the text that I'm appending on those certain tiddlers. I'd actually
like the comments to be at the bottom with my appended text just above the
comments. How would I go about doing this or is it even possible?

Thanks once again,

Damon

[tw5] Font family

2019-01-22 Thread Damon Pritchett
I'm having some issues with using "Theme Tweaks" to change the font family
in my TW. I can change the font family or have it blank and my tiddlers do
not change their appearance. The editor font changes fine. This is also
independent of which browser I'm using. I'm thinking that there is a
stylesheet somewhere that is setting or overriding these fonts. How can I
figure out which one is getting the final word?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Railroad Diagram plugin

2019-01-19 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi folks,

Has anyone played with the railroad plugin very much yet? I've spent a
couple of hours on learning it today and so far so good. One thing I'm
wondering it can it do two branches on the left combining into one on the
right. Hopefully, the stuff below will illustrate what I mean.

So here one diagram I generated:

What I haven't been able to figure out is how to do something like this:

--start1---|
   |nextend---
--start2---|

Is it possible with the current plugin?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Re: Railroad Diagram plugin

2019-01-19 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi Thomas,

Generally I would agree, but there are instances where a branch line goes
off and ends such that there would be two ends of the line. For example,
you start at station A, but you have the option to go to station B or C,
but you wouldn't go through B to get to C and vice versa. That's the idea
I'm trying to get to.

Cheers,

[tw5] Collapsible TOC based on first characters of tiddler title

2018-12-13 Thread Damon Pritchett
Tiddlywiki Wizards,

My current Tiddlywiki project currently has over 1800 tiddlers and I have a
vertical tabbed TOC for each letter of the alphabet. This works pretty well
except for letters that have a lot of tiddlers that start with say, K, that
means a lot of scrolling. I would like to have a TOC that contains each
letter of the alphabet, but, underneath that, have a further expandable
choice based on, say, the first three characters of the title. This should
make going through the selections much easier and cleaner. The image below
illustrates what I'm talking about. I could do this manually, but that
seems like a lot of work. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

2018-12-15 Thread Damon Pritchett
Yeah, I think that's kind of the search I'm looking for. Need to think
about the best way to go about that.

The pronunciation of Arkansas is highly dependent upon which state it is
that you reside in. If you live in or close to Arkansas, then you pronounce
it Arkan-SAW. If you live in Kansas, then it is most definitely Ar-KANSAS.
Digression continues..

[tw5] Append text to body of all tiddlers that match a certain tag

2018-12-11 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello,

I'm looking for a way to append one or more lines of text to the body of
all tiddlers that are tagged with a specified tag and only those tiddlers.
I have several hundred tiddlers that are all tagged with a certain tag
value. I would like to append a backlinks line at the end of each of these
so that I can see what other tiddlers reference them. Is there an easy way
of doing this?

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

Thanks very much. That nearly did the trick, but it was very selective. Not
every tiddler with the given tag was modified. I didn't check all 1800 of
them, but of the ones I did check, only a small fraction were changed. It
did exactly what I wanted otherwise.

[tw5] Re: Collapsible TOC based on first characters of tiddler title

2018-12-14 Thread Damon Pritchett
So after looking closely at my titles and considering a bit further, I
believe that my original idea of doing this will not really solve my
problem. There are a large number of tiddlers whose title is the same for
up to 10 or 12 characters. I need to rethink a better way to navigate
through all of the choices without creating a lot of clutter or a huge
scrolling list. I am very open to suggestions.

[tw5] Tabbed Internal TOC - scrollable?

2018-12-24 Thread Damon Pritchett
All,

I really like the Tabbed Internal table of contents, but I do have a
question. Would it be possible to make the right side of the tiddler where
the text is scrollable independently of the TOC on the left to accommodate
larger content?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Zoomin Story View odd behavior

2018-12-24 Thread Damon Pritchett
I had my TW in Zoomin mode under the Story View control panel tab and have
noticed some strange behavior when editing a tiddler. If I edit a tiddler
and then switch to another tiddler while leaving it open for edit and then
come back to the tiddler I was editing, the size of the tiddler is quite
short vertically. When I start typing in edit mode, the tiddler will resize
to what it originally was. Nothing adverse happens other than the size of
the tiddler. The lower right corner of the edit window to resize does not
work when this happens. Has anyone noticed this behavior?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Re: Collapsible TOC based on first characters of tiddler title

2018-12-15 Thread Damon Pritchett
My project consists of a large collection of a certain type of business in
Kansas. Each business is represented by its own tiddler and contains facts
about that business. The title of the tiddler is the name of the business.
As one can imagine, a lot of the names begin with Kansas, but there are
also a lot that begin with city names.

I don't want to do anything that takes away from the name/title. I've
thought that searching is likely the best way to approach this, but there
are times when it's convenient or necessary to do some browsing.

As I mentioned in the initial post, I have a table of contents set up with
vertical tabs for each letter of the alphabet. For long lists such as K,
there's a lot of scrolling and the tabs and the top of the sidebar scroll
with it. This would be less of a concern if I could have to tabs and top of
the sidebar not scroll.

Breaking up into smaller pieces is what my mind is churning on in the
background, but haven't come up with any ideas yet. I've also wondered if a
clever method of tagging might be a way to go.

[tw5] CSS for Expandable Table of Contents

2019-01-24 Thread Damon Pritchett
Greetings,

I'm wanting to tweak the styling of the expandable table of contents (maybe
TOC in general), but I'm having trouble figuring out what elements I need
to tweak. I'm looking to change the text sizes and line spacings for each
level of the TOC. I've spent a bit of time looking, but can't seem to quite
find what I'm looking for. Maybe it's because I'm doing this when I'm too
tired..

[tw5] Re: Tabs on Tiddlers?

2019-01-26 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi Tony,

I tried the simple code below in a tab template tagged
$:/tags/ViewTemplate. The result was the every tiddler displayed the
comments stuff twice at the bottom, but the tabs were unaffected. I entered
a comment in one of the tiddlers used in the tabs and that comment did not
show up in the tab at all, but showed up twice in the tiddler. I'm very new
to templates so am not sure how to fix it. Thanks so much for your help and
patience.

Sorry Tony - being the newbie that I am, I'm not completely following you.
The behavior that I'm seeing (two copies of the comments in each tiddler)
is happening without the tiddler with the tabs being open. Please explain
further.

Hi JD,

I love the theme. I've got one question. How did you get the sidebar to the
left? That's what I love about this theme the most.

Thanks,

[tw5] Re: [theme] Presenting "Mono" theme

2019-02-05 Thread Damon Pritchett
JD,

One other thing I just noticed. It appears that text in bullets do not wrap
within the tiddler like it did before I moved to your theme. I can switch
back and forth between the them I was previously using and the problem goes
with the theme. I haven't investigated it thoroughly; only enough to
characterize the behavior. Not a big deal, but thought you should know
about it.

Found the wrapping problem. There's a style in your stylesheet defined as

 ul, li { white-space: nowrap; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; }

[tw5] Re: [theme] Presenting "Mono" theme

2019-02-19 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi JD,

I found the problem with the bullets for your mono theme. Under the ul, li
elements, the overflow was set to hidden. Setting this to visible restored
the bullets. Was there a particular reason you had it set that way? Would
that change or any of the others I suggested above break anything?

Thanks,

Damon

Thanks so much Tony - that's definitely the way to go. That's not second

definitely should not be doing things like that when I'm tired. That's how

[tw5] Re: Date in custom field is one day off

2019-01-31 Thread Damon Pritchett
All,

I tried as suggested and that did help to some degree. Since my TW is being
used for a history project that I'm doing, I have many 19th century dates.
That fix does not work for dates earlier than the year 1884 for some
reason. I get very odd behavior when I type a years of 1883 or earlier. It
seems to depend on how I type it in whether it's correct or not. Any
thoughts on this?

Thanks once again,

Damon

[tw5] Date in custom field is one day off

2019-01-31 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi all,

I've created a custom field in my TW that I use to store a date. I store
the date in this fashion 20190131 (if I uses dashes between the year, month
and day, the date is way off). In a table cell where I want the date to
appear, I've entered <$view field="customdate" format="date" template="MMM
DD, "/>. When the date is displayed, it is one day off (less). If I put
an 8 afterwards (201901318), then the date in the table is displayed
correctly. Is this a bug or something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Damon

I should also say that the view widget is within a cell of an html table.

Tony

I tried putting [UTC] in the date format as you suggested. This worked great
for years 1884 and higher. I’ve created a field called charterdate and am using
that in the field area of the view widget. I’ve entered the date in the field
as 18710215. That’s the actual date I’m working with (Feb. 15,1871).

Tony,

I'll give your suggestion a try and let you know.

In answer to your question, no the old dates were not correct when not
specifying UTC. All dates were incorrect before specifying UTC and only
dates 1884 and sooner were correct when specifying UTC.

[tw5] Re: Date in custom field is one day off

2019-02-01 Thread Damon Pritchett
So I found that separating the year, month and day doesn't really do what I
want. It's much easier to treat the field as text and then enter
1871-02-15. I'll still be able to sort that way. I'm still hoping that
someone will see this thread and have a fix or work around. Is this a bug?

Mark,

In reality, all I really need is sortability and the filtering down to the
year. So the roll your own method will suit those needs. However, what I’d like
to be able to do is to display the dates with words for the months rather than
numbers without having to do acrobatics to do so. Maybe that’s not currently
possible.

[tw5] Re: Date in custom field is one day off

2019-02-01 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hey Mark,

Acrobatics for me and child's play for, but I'm learning. Tried you're code
with a little modification and it outputs exactly what I want. Here's what
I did:

\define date-str(date)
<$list filter="[[$date$]splitbefore[-]]" variable=x >
<$list filter="[[$date$]removeprefixsplitbefore[-]removesuffix[-]]"
variable=m>
<$list filter="[[data-months]getindex]" />
<$list filter="[[$date$]splitbefore[-]removesuffix[-]]" variable=y >
<$list filter="[[$date$]removeprefixremoveprefixremoveprefix[-]]"
variable=d >
<>, <>

\end

I did change some of the variable names a bit. The last question I have is
this. The month comes out as a missing tiddler. Is there a way that I can
just have that be text?

Thanks again,

Damon

Thanks Mark,

That worked perfectly. I had tried something similar, but some of the
nuances messed me up I guess. Why does mname need quotes, but m does not?
Also, what determines whether or not there is a / before the > for the
list widget versus having ? Or are these two related questions?

Thanks,

Damon

One of the limitations I've noticed with tabs today is that the tiddler

append some content to all tiddlers matching a certain tag this way. Is
there anyway to remedy this?

I gave it a try and liked it a lot. I did, however, notice that once the

Instead of having the edit toolbar sticky, would it be possible or
desirable to have the tiddler window only be a maximum size and then the
only scrolling that would be done is in the text window itself? This way
the toolbar and the fields would all stay present. Just a thought.

[tw5] Filtering an "or" condition

2019-05-24 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello again,

I'm trying to do a filter where I'm doing a search of tiddler titles
looking for this word or that word in the title. For example, let's say I
have a number of tiddlers with the word vegetarian in it and another group
with the word pasta in it. I want to find all tiddlers that have either of
those words in the title even if the title contains both. I tried the
examples on the Introduction to filter notation page (
https://tiddlywiki.com/#Introduction%20to%20filter%20notation), but so far
when I do the following:

[search:title[vegetarian]] [search:title[pasta]]

I get only the titles that have pasta or vegetarian in them. The titles
that have both vegetarian and pasta in it do not get listed.

What is the secret sauce for having a true or and not an exclusive or?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Re: Filtering an "or" condition

2019-05-26 Thread Damon Pritchett
All,

I've tried attaching some screen shots of what I'm seeing, but the messages
keep getting deleted.

I'll try to explain. My TW has a bunch of companies as individual tiddlers.
When I perform the search [search:title[Electric]] in the filter expression
tab of advanced search, I get the following:

Atchison Electric Motor & Street Railway
Atchison Electric Street Railway
Atchison Railway & Electric Light Company
Atchison Railway, Electric Light & Power Company

Now when I do this search: [search:title[Electric]] [search:title[Street]],
I only get the following:

Atchison Railway & Electric Light Company
Atchison Railway, Electric Light & Power Company

The other two companies disappear which I wouldn't expect. What am I
missing? Does do the filter in the advanced search behave differently than
within a tiddler (which I haven't tried yet)?

Thanks,

Damon

Well then somethings up because I don't see exactly what I'd expect based

second one is not. What am I missing?

2019-05-28 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hey all,

I've given up trying to figure out what's wrong, so I want to start afresh
with a new blank Tiddlywiki file. What is the best way to make sure I get
all of my content over to the new file without the plugins &
customizations? Can I just export everything from the old file and import
all into the new file? Is bundler better suited for this?

Many thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Would like a hierarchical tag tree

2019-06-05 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi all,

I would like to create a hierarchical tag tree similar to a table of
contents that also includes the root in the list. I would also like to
style it in the manner of list-tree (http://listtree.tiddlyspot.com/).. I'm
using tags to show relationships of company changes of name and mergers
(company succession). The ToC macros work great, but they don't include the
root tiddler and I really like the list-tree format. I don't fell that my
knowledge is good enough yet to figure out how to modify them on my one. In
addition, I want to have the root as the current tiddler.

Thanks very much in advance.

[tw5] Re: Would like a hierarchical tag tree

2019-06-05 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi Mark S.,

Thanks for the reply. That's not exactly what I'm looking for because then
I would have to create many, many extraneous "Master" tiddlers and that
would clutter things up considerably in my view although that would do what
I'd like as you say. I'd like this to be generic in that I'm considering
putting this in a tiddler tagged ViewTemplate.

Howdy again,

I have tried for a couple of hours today to solve this problem (in my last
post), but I just can't figure it out even with the Inspect feature of
Chrome. It's probably very simple, but I'm not seeing it.

Thanks,

[tw5] Re: Filtering an "or" condition

2019-05-29 Thread Damon Pritchett
Alright, I've finally figured it out and I feel fairly inept because of it.
The filter was working the entire time. I was expecting the combined search
to be completely alphabetical when, in fact, they two search results were
one right after the other. The results were there, just not sorted the way
I expected them to be. Each individual search was alphabetic, but were not
combined alphabetically. Is there a way to make the overall results
combined alphabetically?

Thanks,

Damon

Hey Tony,

Yes, that works in a sense, but I would like the output to look like what
the ListTree plugin output looks like. Also, I'm not sure how to call the
ToC macro with the title of the current tiddler.

This image is kind of what I'm looking for with the possibility of it being
expandable.

[tw5] Re: Would like a hierarchical tag tree

2019-06-06 Thread Damon Pritchett
Have had some fun this morning working with Mark's idea. I modified the
code somewhat to add the current Tiddler to the diagram. Here's the code:

\define toc-body2(tag,sort:"",itemClassFilter,exclude,path)

   <>

<$list
filter="""[all[shadows+tiddlers]tag<__tag__>!has[draft.of]$sort$]
-[<__tag__>] -[enlist<__exclude__>]""">
  <$vars item=<> path={{{
[<__path__>addsuffix[/]addsuffix<__tag__>] }}}
excluded="""[enlist<__exclude__>] -[<__tag__>]""">
 <$set name="toc-item-class" filter=<<__itemClassFilter__>>
emptyValue="toc-item" value="toc-item-selected">

<$list filter="[all[current]toc-link[no]]"
emptyMessage="<$link><$view field='caption'><$view field='title'/>">
  <>

<$macrocall $name="toc-body" tag=<> sort=<<__sort__>>
itemClassFilter=<<__itemClassFilter__>> exclude=<> path=<>/>

\end

\define toc2(tag,sort:"",itemClassFilter:"list-tree")
<$macrocall $name="toc-body2" tag=<<__tag__>> sort=<<__sort__>>
itemClassFilter=<<__itemClassFilter__>> />
\end

This is quite close. However, as you can see in the picture below, it's not
quite right. The top diagram is from the macro and the bottom is just a
list with list-tree. There's something about the table of contents macro
that is changing things slightly. I've messed around with stylesheets, but
haven't quite found the key area to tweak without changing the look of the
2nd diagram. I tried tweaking the macro in the class areas, but to no
avail. Any thoughts?

In looking at the tree macro this morning, I'm wondering if I changed the
filter lines that contain [

all[shadows+tiddlers]

to something that searched for a certain field instead of the title. It's
probably not that simple and I thought I'd ask for opinions before I
started hacking things.

All right, it's definitely not that simple. Can what I want to do be done

After playing around with this new macro further, I've found that it only
works as long as the description matches the tiddler title exactly. If not,
then there is an entry in the tree list to a tiddler that doesn't exist.
What tweak could I make that would fix this?

Re: [tw5] Font in Text Editor

2019-06-10 Thread Damon Pritchett
Thanks Jeremy,

Very much appreciated and good to know that it wasn't something I was doing
or not doing.

One question to which you may or may not know the answer. I had been using
the plugin edit-comptext which allows for auto completion of internal
links. Is there something that can be added to CodeMirror with this
functionality? Currently, it seems that you can use edit-comptext with the
default editor, but not with CodeMirror.

Cheers,

Damon

[tw5] Re: Would like a hierarchical tag tree

2019-06-09 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hey Tony,

Thanks for pointing me to the tree macro. I gave it a quick try and it
shows some promise. However, I'm not getting the results I expected. I
tried it for my Item 1 example in the images above, but I didn't get an
expandable/collapsible tree. It was just an indented list with Item 1 at
the top. Also, "Item 1" was missing from the title of each member of the
list. I looked at the code for the macro, but I quickly became lost as my
macro skills are rudimentary at best. Is there some detailed documentation
on the syntax for macros somewhere? What's the best way to learn this stuff?

Maybe, the generic recursive macro that you offered would be a great way
for me to learn this stuff.

As always, thanks so much for your assistance. It's greatly appreciated.

[tw5] Font in Text Editor

2019-06-09 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello again,

I'm having trouble getting my TW to recognize Google fonts. The font family
and code font family take the fonts just fine, but I can't get the text
editor to do it. I've looked through all of the stylesheets that I know of,
but haven't been able to find the smoking gun. I'm embedding the fonts
based on the instructions found here:
https://ibnishak.github.io/Tesseract/UI/index.html#How%20to%20use%20google%20fonts%20in%20TW5
.

Any thoughts on how to get passed this. Right now, I'm using the generic
monospace font, but I would like to use the Roboto Mono font (again, Roboto
Mono works find in code font family, but not text editor).

Thanks,

Damon

Sorry Mat, but I don't see any folders no matter how long the list is. All

the macro. Plus, the prefix is removed from the list which I'd like to not
have happen.

[tw5] Tree Macro built in core

2019-06-12 Thread Damon Pritchett
I'm curious as to whether or now anyone has used the built in tree macro
very much. The documentation says that it creates an expandable tree based
on tiddler titles, but I never seem to get an expandable tree. All I get is
an indented list of tiddlers with the titles shown minus the prefix I used.
I think this could be very useful, but presently doesn't really seem to be.
How do I use the macro differently to get a true expandable tree of tiddler
titles? There must be something fundamental that I'm missing. I've tried
looking at the macro, but my lack of macro experience makes it very hard to
follow. I'm wanting to use this to generate an expandable tag tree.

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Re: Tree Macro built in core

2019-06-12 Thread Damon Pritchett
Ok - I see. My tiddlers don't have a "/" in any of their names so that
explains it. A couple more questions now. What does the "chunk" parameter
do? Also, would it be terribly difficult to modify the macro to list the
folders first and also not to exclude the prefix from the listed tiddler
names?

Thanks,

Damon

Re: [tw5] Re: Tree Macro built in core

2019-06-13 Thread Damon Pritchett
The more I look at this, the more I like it and it may be just what I've
been needing for a long time. I do have a question. Would it be possible to
have the macro, as on option, look at the caption or another field instead
of the tiddler title? I ask this because I can see, at least in my case,
the tiddler titles getting extremely long which is not aesthetically
pleasing not to mention hard to read.

Thanks again,

Damon

[tw5] Macro to set a field value in multiple tiddlers

2019-05-18 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello once again,

I would like to create a macro that will filter my nearly 2,000 tiddlers by
tag, field or both and then add a new field and its value to each tiddler
that matches the filter result. This seems very doable, but given my lack
of macro experience, I'm not really sure how to start. Has anyone ever done
this before or have something close that I could build off of?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Damon

[tw5] Mono theme and page controls

2019-05-20 Thread Damon Pritchett
All,

I've been using the Mono theme from jd for a while, but found that it has
some incompatibilities with the refnotes plugin (weird, random horizontal
scrolling of the story river with some footnotes). I have removed the Mono
theme, which fixed the weird horizontal scrolling issue, but now my Page
Controls toolbar in the sidebar is missing and I can't figure out how to
get it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Damon

Oh ok. That makes sense. Thanks.

One more question. If I wanted to make it so I can select any given year or
a decade, is there a way I can do that without having to type in all of the
selections? Such as some kind of loop or similar? Also, I would anticipate
that the dropdown would get very large in that case. Is there a way to make
a scrollable dropdown?

Thanks again,

[tw5] Re: Tidgraph

2019-04-26 Thread Damon Pritchett
Thanks Stephan,

I was hoping and thinking that was the case.

It's such a great tool. It's a shame that there hasn't been any activity on
updating it in quite a long time.

Have you (or anyone else for that matter) made any adjustments or tweaks to
it? I've changed a couple of stylesheet things, but that's about it. I've
noticed that the "E" version seems to work a lot better than the "S"
version as far as placement goes. What I mean by that is that if the graph
gets large, then I've noticed a lot of funky crossing of lines in the "S"
version which doesn't happen in the "E" version. This is probably due to
space constraints, but it seems that it could be handled better than it
does.

I was also wondering about modifying the arrows to either have none or have
them in the opposite direction. Haven't even started fiddling with this,
but am wondering if anyone else has taken a look at it.

I'm also thinking this would be a great tool for family historians. I've
noticed some posts about this in the past. Has anyone tried to tackle the
"parent" problem?

I'm thinking about tinkering with it, but my JavaScript skills are very
basic so haven't even tried yet. Anyone tried this or have suggestions?

[tw5] Re: Generate list of tiddlers based on a partial field match with variables

2019-05-07 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi Mark,

That was my very first go at it and it always returns the total count of
all Company tiddlers when there should be only anywhere from 4 to 111
depending on the decade chosen. The total number is well over 1000. I even
tried it with the square brackets while setting the value.

That code I pasted was a copy and paste problem while I was in transition.
Sorry about that.

[tw5] Generate list of tiddlers based on a partial field match with variables

2019-05-07 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello all,

I'm a newbie when it comes to filters and such so please bear with me.

I have a TW where the tiddlers are companies and each tiddler has a field
called "charterfiled" for when the company was chartered. The format of the
charter field is 1864-08-20. I can count how many companies were chartered
in the 1860s with the following:

<$count
filter="[tag[Company]regexp:charterfiled[^186]sortan[charterfiled]]"/>

What I'm trying to do is to use the select widget to pick the decade I'd
like. I wrote the following:

<$select field='primary'>
1850s
1860s
1870s
1880s

''year:'' {{!!primary}}
<$count filter="[tag[Company]regexp:charterfiled]"/>

The variable "primary" gets set correctly, but the count returns all of the
tiddlers tagged Company and not just the ones from the 1860s. What am I
doing wrong? I've tried many different things in the filter and the count
will return 0 or the total number, but never the correct number.

Thanks,

Damon

Re: [tw5] Re: Tree Macro built in core

2019-06-27 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hey Mark, et. al.,

I've been using the modified tree macro for quite a while now and am very
happy with it. I would like to make another modification to it, but I
haven't been able to figure out how to do it yet so am reaching out for
hlep. What I would like to do is to have the folders sorted alphabetically
with the non-folders (that is, not have the folders all grouped together at
the end). Is this even possible without a total rewrite?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Tidgraph

2019-04-25 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hi all,

I've just installed the plugin Tidgraph and love it. However, I have
observed an odd behavior that I don't know if it's peculiar to my instance
or this happens generally.

I'm using it to create a tree with tiddlers tagged with the current
tiddler. This all works fine. The odd behavior comes into play when I click
one of the branches. Clicking a branch opens the tiddler as expected, but
if I close that tiddler and then click the same branch again to reopen it,
nothing happens. To get that branch to work again, I have to click another
branch (which opens that tiddler) and then re-click the branch I wanted in
the first place.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior or is it just something in my TW?

Thanks,

Damon

[tw5] Macro question

2019-07-16 Thread Damon Pritchett
Hello all you helpful folks.

I'm having a little nuisance with a macro that I'm using which is shown
below:

\define date-str(date)
<$list filter="[[$date$]splitbefore[-]]" variable=x >
<$list filter="[[$date$]removeprefixsplitbefore[-]removesuffix[-]]"
variable=m>
<$list filter="[[data-months]getindex]" variable="mname">
<$list filter="[[$date$]splitbefore[-]removesuffix[-]]" variable=y>
<$list filter="[[$date$]removeprefixremoveprefixremoveprefix[-]]"
variable=d>
<> <>, <>

\end

The macro works great except that there is a space at the end of the final
result that I can't figure out how to get rid of. Is this just a result of
using a macro or is there a change I can make so that the trailing space
isn't present?

Many thanks in advance,

Damon

[tw5] Re: Macro question

For completeness, I should also show how I'm calling this macro:

The date of the event was <$macrocall $name="date-str" date={{!!mydate}}/>.
