Re: [tw5] Re: Random html tags appear in my wiki
I get the same sort of thing with both Tiddloid and Tiddloid Lite. I suspect it is a problem with Tiddloid as I can get the code to disappear if I open it in either Tiddloid version, save and close it then open it in the other Tiddloid and save and close it, but this is only a very temporary solution I'm afraid; the code comes back pretty quickly. [tw5] TW on Android - open external files

Re: [tw5] Re: 2 checkboxes as OR choice, like radio buttons
Let me see if I have this straight. There are two check boxes. There are three different, legal states 1) Both boxes unselected 2) Box 1 selected, box 2 unselected 3) Box 2 selected, box 1 unselected (the reverse of 1) If the boxes are in state 1, then clicking on a box puts them in either state 2 or state 3, depending on which box is clicked. If the boxes are in state 2 or state 3, then the action taken depends on whether the clicked box is already selected or not. If unselected, change from state 2 to state 3 or vice versa, depending on the current state. If selected, revert to state 1 with neither box selected. The problem you have is that, if the boxes are in state 2 when clicked, they change to state 3 and vice versa *regardless of whether the clicked box is selected or not* Am I right? [tw] Not a TW problem, but...
OK, I'm hoping to get some clues as to what may be going wrong with my system from the fact that opening a TW makes them go wrong faster. I'm running a fresh (ess than two weeks old) install of Arch Linux with TW 2.6.5, FF 16.0.2 and TiddlyFox 1.0alpha3. After running for some time - on the order of four hours - I start getting corrupted characters displaying in all programs. If I scroll the screen so that they disappear of the top or bottom and scroll back, then the correct characters are displayed again. I know this isn't directly related to TW as it happens whether I am using TW or not. However, if I open a TW, this corruption happens immediately. I've been testing this quite extensively over the last week or so and it is reproducible. Any ideas at all most gratefully received. [tw] Autogeneration of table content from other tiddlers
OK, this is probably a request too far but if I never ask, I'll never know :-) I am a keen home wine maker and I want to shift my paper logs, which I keep misplacing, into a TW. I want to keep a separate journal tiddler for each batch of wine I make, containing data such as start date, weights of ingredients, date the yeast was added, dates when I need to take certain actions, tasting notes and so on. This isn't the hard part. This is the hard part. I would like to have an 'overview' tiddler containing all the important information so I can see at a glance what the status of each wine is, what's due to be done, whether I've missed any important actions and so on and I would like to be able to generate this data automagically from the individual tiddlers - I don't mind if I have to click a button to do it. Ideally, what I would like is something of the format Wine | Start date | Yeast added | Fermentation end | Date racked/bottled sorted in reverse chronological order (so that I don't have to keep scrolling to the bottom to see what's happening now). It would also be nice if the Wine column linked to the appropriate tiddler. And the cherry on the cake would be some sort of CSS magic to highlight any important dates I've missed - which would obviously require some sort of 'done' indicator in the journal tiddler. Clearly, the journal tiddlers would have to be in a standard format but I don't really care what that format is, just so long as it's clear what's happening when I read it. Is this within the realms of possibility, or shall I just have to try and discipline myself into doing it manually? [tw] Managing references
I'm using a tiddlywiki to manage my research. What I would like to do is collect all the references together and then be able to link to them from the appropriate tiddler in a simple manner, without having to embed loads of pretty links. What I'm after is something along the lines of being able to enter 'Twenty percent of all microfleems are subradiante {{1}}' in the tiddler and having it display as '...subradiante [1]' with the [1] being a link to the reference tiddler or even to the appropriate reference within that tiddler. I can also see a use case where there could be more than one reference tiddler, for instance to organise references into related groups, or simply to split large numbers of references into more manageable chunks. Does that make sense? Is it possible? Has it already been done? [tw] Re: Managing references
Thanks for that. It's certainly close, but not quite what I'm after. I want to separate the references/footnotes out into their own tiddler, partly for neatness, partly for ease of copy/paste into the final document but mainly because I'm likely to be referencing the same document in multiple tiddlers and I'll need to keep the numbering consistent - the microfleem reference should be [1] no matter which tiddler I reference it from and no matter what other references are made ahead of it in the tiddler. Sorry for being so awkward :-) David Shaw On Friday, August 10, 2012 7:45:35 PM UTC+1, whatever wrote: Hi! Try Saq's FootnotesPlugin (1). He also has an example (2). Re: [tw] Re: Pop-up / tool-tip
Hello Måns, Thank you very much for that link (and thank you very much Eric for writing the plugin) - it's not exactly what I was after, but does the job I want it to do, so I'm happy :-) Again, many thanks, David Shaw On 21/05/12 19:35, Måns wrote: Hi David I want to add a link to a tiddler which, when clicked on, opens another tiddler but which, when I just hover the mouse over it, displays the contents of either a specified section of the linked tiddler or the contents of a separate tiddler in a pop-up, tool-tip style, so that I can offer the user a summary of the linked tiddler without having to open it. Is this possible? Eric made http://www.tiddlytools.com/#PopupPreviewPlugin I don't know if it's possible to make it show alternative contents in the popup though..
