from his machine, I guess asking him to access my documents
thro the browser is an easier alternative.
Ask your friend to request the following URL:
http://your_ip_address:8080/

Once you put the directory where the library lives in
/etc/ld.so.conf, you'll need to run ldconfig.
If you put it in the startup script, you might have
something like:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
