Sorry c3p0, I didn't see you there before I replied. What you say about the radio doesn't make much sense, it takes a line in from an iPod, for example, which is very much analogue - the DAC is in the iPod, not the Radio. The Radio receives nothing but analogue in, and possibly, never digitises

It may be possible for the internal server Touch to do the line-in to play on Touch but not for relaying to other players as I think it would be overloaded. Without transcoding Touch would then have to stream WAV to all synced devices which would be (i) use much more memory as each TCP stream
