Maybe not. One thing to try would be to re-partition the drive with a
primary partition sized smaller than 2.0Gb and see if that works. I
know that the Touch can work with 2GB USB hard drives.

If I understand correctly then the issue that you have is that your

First check that the SBS version that you installed is at least version

As mentioned by Mnyb, port 9000 is not used by the Squeezebox players.
The players connect to the server through port 3483 (UDP and TCP).
Port 9000 is used to configure your SBS server by means of you web

Try rebooting Touch, it should just see the port on SBS.
My SBS assigned port is 9010 and I've never had an issue connecting to
SBS server with four different SB players, including a Touch.
I've never had to tell my players which port to use or look for.

Thank you for sharing your issues - seems like this is a problem
Logitech should investigate.
I am not a programmer, nor very technical, but to mee it seems like the
Touch needs a firmware update related to lossless formats, where it
starts buffering before playing lossless file formats, instead
I experience the same issue with a USB connected harddrive.
So, this is not a nas issue but a squeezebox issue.
This problem has been reported as a bug since 6/2010 :
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16275
When will logitech resolve this issue?

Try to turn off all services on Qnap which you don't need or use, leave
only sbs. A faster hd with 64MB cache can also help.
