be possible to modify the Default skin to
simply remove the Play ( ) button from tracks in the web interface.
That would solve 90% of the issues. Enable the extended buttons to have
the 'Play next' button available and there's not much you can't do
without a Play button.

Squeezeboxes on
your network. Go into Setting Synchronize on either player. Or in the
web interface use the drop-down box link where you see the player name
in the upper right corner, and select 'Synchronize' at the bottom of
the menu.

I don't understand why album covers would be made an option for
screensavers only after media scanning was implemented in 7.7. Album
covers have always been scanned, so could have been made available
previously. I can't say that I see any use for it, but this seems odd.

Also, you might see whether or not there's a way to dismiss the error
message without getting stuck in a loop. Try a left-to-right swipe of
the screen (or press and hold the left-arrow button on the remote) in
the error screen.

I've seen a CD that RG analysis gave a positive value. It's possible
that the lowered volume led you to believe it sounded as though there
was less bass.

Have you installed the server on a computer on your network, or are you
only using MySqueezebox.com?
If you haven't installed the server, do so. Then try playing some of
your own music files and see whether or not that works. If not, then
something is definitely wrong.

The Touch will always rescan the storage when you boot up the Touch or
plug in a device. Disabling autorescan only disables scanning when
changes are made to files on the drive.

It could be related to playlists. Do you have .m3u files for the albums
stored among the audio files? Some ripping software automatically
creates these files and their known to trip up the scanner.

Right, there's no question about that. But you have to enable the other
two services before you can use either an SSH client like PuTTY or SMB
(file sharing) client like Windows Explorer.

It has to be mysqueezebox.com causing this.
I saw it just recently with my Radio. I had my server shut down for
about an hour and the Radio must have connected to mysb.com, got its
new name (Nil), and when the server was restarted the name was then
shown on the local server.

Yes, it's MUCH easier on system resources.
The web interface is also a good place to get a feel for how it works.
Anytime you play something you can immediately see the results in the
playlist.

One other thing is that you probably have to do is a full library
rescan. The only way to do that may be to empty the cache folder from

No, I wasn't suggesting breaking up the larger Flac files

that is on your network. If you see a 169.254.x.x address, then it did
not. If you're connecting wirelessly, you might see if your wireless
router has an admin web page where you can see all connected wifi
clients. You should see the Touch there.

Have you tried doing a factory reset of the Touch? To do a factory reset
hold down the reset button on the back for 15 seconds or so, until you
see a message displayed about resetting settings.
