SBT to Rega DAC via coaxial. I installed the EDO applet only to take
advantage of 24/192. Not using the USB connection as the Rega DAC's USB
tops out at 48. I uninstalled the EDO

I did disable MOG at some point. After which I was told that while MOG
was dead in the US, it still existed in some way in NZ or Australia. But
that's been years ago. Might be dead by now, too...
Yes, and what about Napster, Deezer, Amazon CD store, MusicIP, Orange
Liveradio and Slacker, etc?

Don't know. I don't use any of the ones
Hi garym
Yes, and what about Napster, Deezer, Amazon CD store, MusicIP, Orange

Is there a way we could check all the plugins and maybe create a list of
ones that no longer function?

Not sure. And to be clear, perhaps the MOG plugin still works. It is
just that the MOG music service no longer exists, so nothing to connect
to.

Wow it's so great to see your familiar name Gary! I'm also glad you
explained the edo app as I agree that my touch still sounds great
without it but I'll definitely add it. Hope all is well with you and

Why not? The Mac running LMS is connected via wifi to router (one hop),
then TOUCH is connected to same router via WIFI. Wouldn't this be a
double hop?

If you get rebuffering when playing *files* from LMS - then double hop
is *NOT* the issue.

Thinking about this overnight I realized that I have at least two
creative solutions that will avoid the double wifi hop:
1. Plug my Mac directly into the ethernet. I think that someone
mentioned this above, but I am so stuck in the wifi frame of thinking
that it did not sink in initially.

Rebuffering could mean either Wifi capacity to
for wifi, make sure you're using only 1, 6, or 11 and not automatic (all
these are set in your router, typically from a webGUI interface to the
router administration). Also, you mention you're in NY. Maybe a
crowded wifi space. Use some sort of program (lots of free ones
available) to see
I updated the plugin list and restarted LMS.
Get rid of anything you're not sure you need. They'll reinstall easily
if needed. And the prefs are not wiped in the process.

Tried ethernet again but this time did a factory restore on the Touch so
that it would not have the wifi connect.
Voila: no buffering when playing the Mac's music database on
ethernet!!!
When I unplug the ethernet and restore the wifi connection,

Makes sense, I was wondering whether the unit had really switched to
Ethernet. Will try that now. Also I noticed that I have a LOT of
plugins on this unit, per the squeezebox web site. Do any of these look
suspicious? See insert below.

My iTunes database on this particular computer is old school, just AAC
256.
When I used these same two Touch's back in 2010-2012, I was able to play
reliably the AAC 256 database and also the AAC lossless database.
But that was my place in California, and the wifi router was probably
current
My experience is that wifi really won't allow anything above about FLAC 5
to work smoothly without rebufferring. The easy way to check this is just
to play a series of tracks ripped to low kbps up to the high end 'high res'
stuff. The difference can be up 5,000 kbits per track. So a recent

Today we also have 2 Alexa skills to control LMS. Alexa didnt exist in
2012...

there are permissions issues with Catalina. A search for Catalina in the

Yikes, this is funny, I did not realize how ambiguous my comment was.
Computer connected to internet via wifi. Touch connected also via wifi.
By "radio" I mean the radio function on the Touch. Some stations play
nicely, others though I just get a "teststream" notification. I have
now
8 vs 7.9.3 not likely the issue with rebuffering. Provide more detail.
Where are your files located? how attached to Mac. Wired vs Wifi. and
you mention radio, but before you talked about Touch players. Playing
local files or streaming?

Radio seems to work ok, nicely actually, but when I try to play music
from my iTunes database on Mac via LMS, it keeps rebuffering.
Running 7.9.3 thinking it sounds more stable than 8 right now, but,
willing to try 8 if you think that might help. 2015 MacBook Pro 13"
16gig I7 running 10.15.5

More info is always welcome. I will start with downloading the newer
versions of LMS. Should I go for 7.9.3 or 8?
I must mention that LMS8 is the latest and greatest, of course, but it's
far from finalized. It's stable as of today, but this could change at
any time. If you want to take the

pleasantly surprised!
More info is always welcome. I will start with downloading the newer

I'll just add that the Touch remains a very competitive device for the
purposes you've described. It's DAC is fine for direct output to a set
of small powered speakers, and if connected to an external DAC it is
completely up to the demands of a great system. The Raspberry Pi
solutions come

1. In many ways the squeezebox/LMS ecosystem has never been stronger.
The rPi revolution (and piCorePlayer), among others, has solved the
discontinuation of the hardware. The usergroups at this forum are doing
amazing work.
2. LMS can allow one to play spotify, tidal, and Quobuz streaming
What's the current situation with Squeezebox Touch and LMS? Would any
of you be willing to give me a short summary? I've been out of touch
with this community since 2012!
I used to use my pair of Squeezebox Touch's relentlessly until mid-2012
when I moved from a large home in California to
