Online Accounts to work inside a unity8 snap, but we might want to move
away from a monolitic approach and deliver some session

I investigated this bug, and it happens because QFileInfo::ownerId()
returns -2 while inspecting the runtime directory. The documentation
says:
On Windows and on systems where files do not have owners this
function returns ((uint) -2).
It's not clear though, why would this be returning

returning an empty string. Although it's documented that in some systems
that function can return NULL, it would be better if it didn't :-)

Yes Sam, that's correct: accounts providers are visible only if there is
at least one installed application which can use such accounts. Since at
the moment there isn't such an app, the account won't be visible.

can't import contacts from google from
I never saw this bug in about two years of usage of my phone, but today
I saw it for the first time, right after the phone rebooted after
installing OTA-12. An additional reboot made the issue go away.

Hi all! I made some progress on this. :-)
You can test the account-polld package from my personal phablet PPA:

I can see that now account-polld is emitting the notifications, however
there must be something wrong with Dekko's
As David wrote, this behaviour is due to the fact that Google corporate
accounts store their session in session cookies, which are normally
cleared when the browser is closed.
Now, when using Chromium in the desktop, session cookies are restored, if the
user has chosen that on startup the last

the LKP if it's more than a couple of minutes old, as Alan proposes, and
instead add a LastKnownPosition property to the location service D-Bus
interface, and query that in the qtubuntu-sensors's lastKnownPosition()
