Since I am running dhclient -d eth0 I have not been disconnected. I do
not intend to run dhclient this way, it is a part of the minimal system
and should work in the background with no intervention. Who is actively
working on this bug from Cannonical?

I too have struggled with this on my server, leaving us without internet
until sudo dhclient eth0 or the interace is taken down and brought back
up.

After installing Xenial server last week I had problems from the get go

So, I just learned that if I have a crontab with both the day of month
and day of week fields set, it will run on both the given weekday and
given the day of the month, and to have a crontab only work on a certain
day of the month, the day of week field should be set to an asterisk.

This is another sign of a good distribution going backwards.
I need to change a large VM cluster from DHCP to static over SSH using

/etc/init.d/networking restart used to work remotely for this. What the

Unfortunately our test machines are not VMs with local access only to the

I now have a long round trip journey to the datacenter.
What a waste of time. FFS
re disabled auto mute, the problem was detected while auto mute was enabled. I
only disabled it while experimenting with alsamixer, and did not change it back
