I have found something that really puzzles me out.
On a fresh install of Belenos I'm not able to:
01. watch a flash video from youtube
02. watch a quicktime video from iTunes Trailers

I am with 7.0 trisquel original (recent installation).
At login, I do not have the opportunity to choose the Gnome session.
So I installed the gnome-session package and reboot.
At login, I have the choice Gnome session and session Trisquel (default).
I choose Gnome session and I get

If google made a great free operating system i would definitly use it, and

came out) and I'm loving it so far.
One problem I've encountered, though, is since installing gnome 3 shell, I
have duplicate icons for many applications in the Activities menu.
Not only are the icons duplicated,

(Cups and Webkit). And the iThings[1] are much worse than most Android
devices[2] and most Macs.

extra is gnome-session and gnome-shell. (Well, a few other little apps, but
nothing that should cause this).

Is it possible that Midori isn't just loading from HTML5? Because Abrowser
does this automatically for YouTube (and other supported sites) when it has

The Trisquel environment is started by trisquel-session, not gnome-session.
gnome-session is for GNOME Shell, which is the default GNOME environment.
Go to the Tweak Tool (under system settings), Extensions tab, and enable it
there.
Keep in mind that half of these are not actually duplicates.
The ones that really are duplicates seem to be there because Trisquel uses
different programs by default than GNOME, and those that GNOME uses by
default are either required or recommended by various GNOME packages. Try
aptitude
It sure could. Quicktime is easily replaceable by HTML5, too. Perhaps that
iTunes thing you're talking about only works with the actual Quicktime plugin
and not the Totem Quicktime-compatible plugin (I don't know why it would,
digital restriction features maybe?), but provides an HTML5
Same goes with Facebook and the btrfs filesystem. Many major improvements
have been made to it in the newer kernels as FB has someone on staff who
works on btrfs and pushes code to the main kernel.

The reason why I am asking is because the old style debug packages are hacky
and bad. For example, the package libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg does not provide
debugging symbols for /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_dri.so
Again: Onboard and Onboard Settings are two different commands using the
same icon. That is the only repeated icon I see on the screenshot.

We should shy away from cloud-based computing because by promoting it, we are
promoting the control over others. Setting up one's own server and own
personal cloud is a way to fight this.

I swear most of you free software evangelists are stuck in your ways with
viewpoints that are over a decade old. What is wrong with deploying a Docker
container on a hosting company if you have total control of that container?
I don't think people need help (i.e. hosting companies) putting their e-mail,
photos, videos, calendars, address books, messages, documents (and whatever
else they might put on their server) to third parties. The Internet-using
public already seems exceedingly efficient at doing that.
It appears my wifi needs the driver/firmware htc_9271. Debian says its non
free. Why was it included in trisquel?
