Tonight I quite randomly decided to see how far I can get fiddling with
hosting a mail server on my computer. In addition to some other docs,
tutorials, and howtos, I found this walkthrough at centos.org that seems
fairly comprehensive using postfix and dovecot:
Tested with both packages - no root kits found.
Sadly all it means is that you probably don't have any of the
rootkits these tools know about. If you really have caught the
attention of a somewhat clumsy Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) then
they'd be quite up to using an unknown one.
I have used Trisquel 6.0. Everything was OK for some time. But recently there
was an issue with Terminal. I found I can't type character 'o'. If I type
'o', GNOME Terminal Manual will pop up, and the 'o' won't appear in Terminal
window.
Any one can help me?
Thanks!
What is Burnbit?
P2P + Client-Server When you burn a file, you are making a .torrent
equivalent of the file that's powered by both the server(s) hosting the file
(HTTP Web seed) as well as all the regular peers that are downloading it
using Bittorrent. We combine both worlds to make your
Maybe you mistakenly add a keyboard shortcut (see in the Edition menu).

Blag hasn't released a new version since Blag 14. Fedora is now on version
19. Fedora 14 is no longer supported. Doesn't that make Blag a hopeless
source for a reliable distro?
Besides - recent revelations seem to indicate that machines no longer need to
be rootkitted
Hi everyone,
Never had any problem seeing YT-vids on Trisquel, but recently they keep
loading but never start playing. Anybody else any problems with that. BTW
it's Trisquel 6.0 with The Shockwave flash GNASH plugin.
If you wish an alternative solution, here is the relevant documentation.
Here it is without getting screwed up by markup:

Any idea why they played before, but recently no more ???

Try Youtube HTML5 without Gnash or with UnPlug.
Well, Google / Youtube changes things from time to time.
I mostly either use youtube-dl wrapped with some custom scripts to download
things for later viewing or Greasemoneky plus Viewtube.

I've used Linux as a user for the best part of 10 years, but it's always been
a political/moral thing rather than a technical one.
So, in all honesty (blushing furiously) I have not gone beyond enjoying the
fact that 'linux isn't prone to the same nonsense that Windows is' so my
knowledge of

Not sure if you figured this out, but in case you didn't, I was having the
same problem until I added network-manager-openvpn-gnome:
sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn-gnome
I got the idea from Riseup:
https://help.riseup.net/en/openvpn-linux
Maybe that'll work for you too.
BTW: The flash drive I'm using is supposed to be 2 GB.
After creating a ext2 partition of 1.27 GiB, (according to gparted) and a
ext4 partition of 619 MiB with a label of casper-rw without the qoutetation
marks, i get the same result (as superuser.)
Hi,
I have a simple question but which means a lot to me: has the Trisquel
community taken the decision to use GNOME 3 as a desktop environment for the
future or could that change in the future?
I am asking this because I want to find a distro firmly committed to GNOME 3
and based either
Hi,
I have a very simple question: is Trisquel essentially Ubuntu stripped of its
non-free code, or do the Trisquel developers also write special applications
for Trisquel (like, say, Linux Mint which is also based on Ubuntu, but which
also creates original applications)?
Thank you,
Same thing here when using gnash (i.e. when html5 version is not available).
It started happening recently. It usually starts playing if you change the
resolution. I usually just use youtube-dl. Annoying problem though and I
don't know what causes it. I have the flash onoff add-on installed.
Ruben has indicated that he wants to keep GNOME as the official DE for
Trisquel, since it is an official component of the GNU project.
I think it is highly unlikely for this decision to change, especially
considering the excellent accessibility technologies found in GNOME.
i've recently installed updates via update manager and after i booted the
system all my configurations (icon theme, font, cursor theme, touchpad
settings, etc.) were messed up and changes in the advanced settings don't
make any effect.
i'm currently using cinnamon in toutatis. but i'm
Thanks for the good news - I am delighted to hear that!
Thanks for the reply!

The real question, I think, is whether Trisquel is going to start using GNOME
Shell, or stick to GNOME Flashback, in the next version. I like Shell,
personally.
Hi,
I would like to purchase a subnotebook/ultrabook for my wife and I would like
to install Trisquel 6 on it.
Could you recommend any model (except the very expensive ones) which would be
100% of hardware compatible with Trisquel?
Most of what my wife will be doing is typing medical notes,
Yes, I meant GNOME Shell, of course. I really don't see the point of GNOME
Flashback or MATE when there is Cinnammon out there which provides a GNOME 2
on steroids option. I really do not understand why so many people have 2nd
thought about GNOME Shell - its the perfect desktop
I am also experiencing this issue. Clicking the quality button to change the
quality to 240p seems to be a work around. It isn't ideal but it works.
Even if GNOME Flashback is used, I imagine GNOME Shell will be one package
away (no additional dependency).
I found out I needed to reinstall some packages to get the gui applet
working.
Some lines might not be needed, but try:
sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn network-manager-openvpn-gnome
sudo apt-get install --reinstall network-manager network-manager-gnome
network-manager-openvpn
Gnome shell is absolutely horrible.
Recently I had the same problem as you, and I and I've solved it by
installing the addon YouTube All HTML5[0].
This addon automatically disables Gnash for YouTube and turn on the HTML5
player (even for videos that are not supported by YouTube).
And it's free software, is licensed under
