He's the only one. She's awful, especially in her interactions with the
contestants and her timing in cueing them to pick the next answer. Jennings
is light years better.

I get the feeling the staff doesn't think much of her, either, especially
given the outfits the stylists put her into.

Least liked by certain people who want their Oscar winners a little more
mainstream, including an HBO host who referred to "The Shape of Water" as
"the fish-f--king movie" and didn't care for "Nomadland" at all. The
director of "Green Book" is a white guy best known before then as making
the movie where semen played a major role.

Budweiser’s flagship beer hasn’t been their biggest seller in many years (Bud
Light is) and it’s taken a back seat in their marketing. The Clydesdale
commercial used to appear in the first ad break and in Sunday’s game it didn’t
appear until the third quarter. Maybe AB-Inbev can do what they did in the
nineties and feature a Clydesdale wearing a baseball cap backwards and riding a

had a much lower score on USA Today's Ad Meter and a more scientific survey

The show *is* based inside the Dept. of Defense (and inside the
Navy). But that shouldn't prohibit shows set outside the US, in the same
manner that the Navy has bases located in foreign countries all around the
world. Anywhere there is a concentration of Navy or Marine Corps
personnel, there will also be field offices of most of the support
organizations that serve those branches of the military, definitely
 including the NCIS.

I always took this show to be based inside the Defense Dept, if not the
Navy specifically... and yet Shane Brennan, Aussie by birth, is working on
a Sydney-based entry in the franchise, which he intends to film there with
actors therefrom, but also show on Paramount+... the streamer also
announced a "SEAL Team" feature film...

[TV orNotTV] Ottawa Police Arresting Protesters

2022-02-18 Thread Doug Eastick
For those not fully aware of the police advancement this morning, hundreds
of police are making their moves onto the protesters that have occupied
Ottawa the past few weeks. Some key organisers were arrested last night.

Some protestors have brought their children to the police lines as well.
Most humans on twitter that I follow are outraged on that.

[TV orNotTV] The Oscars finally have a COVID policy

2022-02-18 Thread 'Bob Jersey' via TVorNotTV

"Presenters and performers at next month’s Academy Awards will not be
required to show proof of vaccination, but nominees and guests will.

People in the latter group also must have *two *negative PCR tests,
Deadline has confirmed."

The NYT, who broke the story, added that "audience members in the sections
of the Dolby Theatre nearest to the stage won’t be required to wear a mask
but will be seated farther apart from one another than usual. Those in the
mezzanine, however, must wear a face covering."

Landgraf told the "TV's Top 5" podder at THR they're sacking the project,
which the article apparently blames on the 2017 allegation of sexual
harassment by one of his "Mad Men" writers... that writer and her

wrote an op-ed for THR about how to avoid such situations in the future...

Re: [TV orNotTV] NotTV: Disney to brand planned communities

2022-02-18 Thread PGage
A former work colleague of mine left CA to go live in and work for
Celebration, I want to say in early or mid 90s. He became like their
Activities Director (kind of like Julie on the Love Boat). I lost direct
touch with him, but gathered from mutual acquaintances that at some point
Disney was no longer involved.
