Have I done something wrong? I'm using foxfire 6.5 and the java script
feature is activated.

Don't use xAuth, use OAuth. Leave the x_auth_ stuff and use your
oauth_token and oauth_token_secret.
Oh, and look at what xAuth actually is. It's no replacement for OAuth.
