I've tried gnome-launch-box on both 7.10 and 8.04 (fully updated), and I
can confirm this bug.
First time I run it it runs fine, but the second time it always fails,
and I have to kill gnome-launch-box. The dialog opens up, but it
doesn't respond to keyboard input, like in the description above.

I have the same error -- it's the call to psenviron(pid) for a process
that no longer exists, which causes an exception to be thrown.
I changed the script to catch the exception and simply set e to an empty
dictionary to see if that helped. As usual, my blind, ignorant hacking
did not help
Well, I update that machine's BIOS in an attempt to fix various
problems, and now the motherboard is a fancy-looking paperweight. So, I
guess this problem is solved for me. Presumably the new board (which
has an AMD chipset) will not have this problem.

kernels, where before I would get the aacraid errors reported by others.

simple touch /etc/libuser.conf to the config script, maybe checking if it
exists BEFORE trying to open it.

Confirmed here as well. I fixed it by booting from a gentoo livecd
removing 'append=quiet splash' and following the yaboot installation
instructions on the gentoo site.

okay I did this to restore:

wfb.so.169.12 libwfb.so
was that the correct way to go about it?
also, I still dont' know what to do about having 2 kernel's now...should
I uninstall one from Synaptic?

I'm no longer using Gutsy. With Hardy I haven't experienced that problem
yet. So I'll mark it fixed. Thank you!
