Same issue in intrepid 8.10 although if I make the copy with brasero to
a iso image and then use nautilus-cd-burner application to burn de
resulting iso to the DVD it works that way and no errors. That is with a
DVD movie to a DVD double layer.

size larger than the screen resolution display. I was able to grab the
title bar and pull firefox away from the top of the screen and then

Thanks Aaron, the patch from the upstream bug in indeed in 2.5.2, and in
Intrepid, so I'm closing this bug as fixed. Please feel free to re-open

OK, I've resolved the problem by ensuring the Ubuntu modules are added
in Synaptic. So there's something that wasn't automatically added when
the update took place. I'm assuming it was the Ubuntu modules:
linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-22-generic (installed version 2.6.24-22.35)
I went into Synap
We were indeed mistakenly setting a maximum size of 5G for raw devices
for which we should not assume the size. This should now be fixed. Of
course there is no telling of what happens if the device is smaller than
what you try to fit into it, but I do not see any obvious way to
determine reliably

Sorry, but I can't check it at the moment.
My system won't boot in graphical mode since I updated to Intrepid some
time ago. I have to sort that out, but I didn't have time so far. ..so
I'm stuck with Windows probably until I reinstall Ubuntu some time in

This is still a bug though, because even if you feed it with weird links,
playlists or expensive whiskey, vlc should not crash.
Now it crashes when opening your attached playlist, but other apps (totem) does
not crash. Copy->paste the link is a workaround, but not a bugfix :)
