## What is the bug
When upgradig to Ubuntu 20.04, it also updated Gnome to 3.36.1.
When using my ultrawide (and configuring it via xrandr because the gnome config
tool does not work properly) the top bar is behaving strange.
When no windows are open, the top bar "Activities"
I had the same type of problem when attempting to decrypt using gpg2 on
a remote host, logged in via ssh from Ubuntu 18.04 client. Turned out
that GPG2 was unable to ask for passphrase via X-forwarding. I got it
working by disabling X forwarding ("ssh -x .." or "unset DISPLAY"),
which triggers a te

I went onto the printer and chose "Network services" and disabled all
but the 9100 service.
I can now print out.
While the problem isn't fixed as such, this should allow me to run this
printer for a few more years. At that point it should be ready for the

How do I purge all IPP references to my printer from the system or how
do I stop Ubuntu from querying my printer in that fashion?

There is *NO* printer added to my machine at all, and yes, the Xerox
printer then reboots.

I tried purging cups and resinstalling, including deleting
/etc/init.d/cups/printers.config* and have *no* printers added to the

bridge_ageing 0
for the bridge in /etc/network/interfaces, making it a hub forwarding all

Console switch workaround is reliable and prevents possible hangs on
suspend when screen locking is enabled.
It's implemented with a simple script in
/etc/pm/sleep.d/99switch_to_vt1:

Stalling suspend for a few seconds did not help. Now testing console
switch workaround (switch to VT-1 at suspend, then switch back to VT-7

Hangs do not occur if the lock screen is disabled at suspend. Perhaps
this problem is somehow related to a bad interaction when lock screen is
activating while suspend is kicking in.
(Not having a lock screen at suspend is rather bad for security, so I'd
like to avoid it as a workaround.)

They key here seems to be locale.
When started with default English locale, by setting LANG=C in
environment, the bug does not occur and CTRL+D works for bookmarking.

So - I have tried to fix my this problem, but I am having real
difficulties.
I have booted Boot-Repair from USB, but I have to set the BIOS to Legacy mode.
EFI mode shoes the GRUB, and boot repair is an option but it does not boot at
all.

Just had another freeze at suspend. Display was still on, but frozen
right in the middle of the fade between desktop and lockscreen appearing
before machine should have suspended (same thing as first occurence). So
this bug is really about a failure to suspend, since it actually never
manages to re
Unless I hit the problem again, this bug will likely just fade into
oblivion, as I have no way to reliably reproduce the problem. And that
makes it hard to determine whether a mainline kernel helps or not.

Christopher, I would, but I have a hard time understanding why I should
file an obvious duplicate bug report ? I have the same hardware as the
reporter and the same errors. Also, the A08 BIOS is not outdated – there
is nothing more recent available from Dell support.

pointer sometimes goes crazy and spews spurious input events all over
