In lightdm's login page the shortcut keys for switching the keyboard language
don't work.
As a result, every time you resume from suspend or want to unlock the computer
you have to use your mouse to switch the language back to English in order to

Yes, this seems to have been fixed in OpenOffice 3.2, fortunately! I tested
too (with Nazli font installed) and ZWNJs were no more visible.

sudo chmod 700 /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf
sudo chmod 700 /usr/lib/cups/backend

After I looked more deeply into the problem, I found that the problem is not
with brightness level changes -- it changes correctly when I press
Fn+Up/Down keys.
The problem is that there are 6 brightness levels (as reported in
'/proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD/brightness'), which are 12,
I made a mistake. There 8 levels of brightness reported, and the brightness
pop-up also shows 8 levels correctly.
The problem is that one level is sometimes jumped over randomly. I'll read
the link you sent more carefully again and try find the source of the
problem.

I can confirm that this is fixed in my Dell Inspiron 6400.
But a new problem is introduced: when pressing Ctrl+Fn Down immediately
after Ctrl+Fn Up (or vise versa), the brightness continues to go up, as if
it has an inertia. Of course, this may be a bug with Jaunty's new
notification system.

This could not be a bug in the fonts mentions, since they are rendered
correctly in other programs in Linux (e.g. gedit). So, it is most likely
that this is a problem with OOWriter rendering fonts.

I have manually set up a static IP wired connection in nm-applet
(labeled Home) which is my connection to use at home.
However, whenever I resume from suspend or restart my computer, nm-
applet tries to connect to the Auto eth0 connection (which is DHCP,

My issue was resolved by deleting the Auto-eth0 and restarting afterwards.
Now, although Auto-eth0 is there again, but it nm-applet connects correctly to

Virtual space is a special kind of space used in Persian (and Arabic)
text that has a width of zero and is used to separate letters with no
space in between. Without this virtual space, the adjacent letters are
drawn as joint to each
I've attached a document showing the problem more clearly. The font for
which you can see the problem in this document is 'Nazli' font that is
available after installing the package 'ttf-farsiweb' (This package
includes some standard Persian fonts).
Of course the problem is there for other fonts
I did a more thorough research on this bug. It seems that this bug stays
around for some years now and is many times reported upstream. Here are

wrongly as Farsi language in OOo) that uses the same symbols as Arabic.

I just wanted to confirm this bug for me.
And a suggestion: why not put a Automatic start at login option that takes
cares of
everything (like timing, etc.) and is also more user-friendly than having to
add a command line to the session manager.
