sorry, i'm somewhat out of date, a pgmr for ibm for 25 years and retired
for 25 years just as linux was developed.
i will try more testing using old non-system76 laptops, i suspect they
will fix it, sure someone else will hit upon it
meanwhile thanks for looking into it, if i can find anything i
tried with last week's straight ubuntu install with very different
results but the ends were all unsucessful, l spent 10m mn entering data
and lost it, in any event possibly sys76 is problem.
note this is the first release of ubu and x-ubu which sys76 accecpted

using system76 laptop, with and without system76 extras, same results
however after install and
I did specify that NO WIFI was available. Each of the problems are a
show stopper for me - that is why I have been so frustrated with the new
release so that instead of getting a new run of the mill cheaper laptop
I went for the more expensive Sys76 which is geared for Linux (it is on
its way

I only tried this on Lenovo-Y530 with intel cpu and graphics

I will try, up

Firmware for Intel-5100 appears to be same for working and non-working

Title:
ogg123 in Oneiric-64-Xubuntu: plays too fast
To manage
Public bug reported:
Most audios play at normal speed, but those converted to use 1/8 space
run about 2-4 times faster. This only occurs with latest version. I
run ogg123 thru mc (midnite commander) by pressing enter.
Just rechecked natty-x and maveric-gnome versions, run fine there.
